Two-thirds of THE PEOPLE are enraged, while NBC ignores it to support the socialist regime. Since the media have abdicated their duty to be the watchdog of the government, THE PEOPLE will have to do it, one way or anotherWriterbuckeye wrote: A side aspect of this sideshow from NBC News tonight (it's the one I watched of the networks).
There was not one story, or part of any story, during their entire broadcast that so much as challenged anything that was passed.
It was praise for the bill and the people who passed it -- followed by stories that defended them and called out critics as being everything from evil to racists.
In short, it was textbook partisan hackery barely disguised as a news broadcast.
Even amid a time when such partisanship by so-called news organizations is anything but rare, this was the kind of thing that makes me hope all the old media dinosaurs die a quick and dirty death, and as soon as possible.
Journalism as it now stands in this country (the Jurassic media) needs to be torn down below the foundation and completely rebuilt.
Otherwise, it has no purpose to exist, anymore, since the folks running it aren't doing the basic job they were hired to do. -

A new CNN poll finds that Americans oppose the current health care reform plan passed by Congesss, 59 to 39%.
However, parsing the numbers shows that many of those against the plan actually oppose it because "it is not liberal enough." In fact, 52% of Americans either support the current legislation or think it should be more liberal, while only 43% oppose the plan saying it is "too liberal." -

Why if this is such a "great piece of legislation does/ did it take:
A) back room threats and bribes?
B)... not take affect for 4 years? If people are that hard up for health care why not start it yesterday?
C) heck it's so important why hasn't B.O. signed it yet?
D) if it reduces the deficit why not implement it NOW?
And what ever happened to the party that told us from the day of the Roe v Wade ruling to "keep your laws off my body"? Why now is it ok for your beloved Gov. to tell me. why, how, when, I can get my care, and what treatments I can have? If gov is paying you dang well better believe they are gonna have a say in how much, and when I get care? -

Little DannyRegardless as to whether it is 2/3, 1/2 or even 1/4, the fact of the matter is that a significant percentage of Americans have a problem with the bill. For NBC, MSNBC or whomever to act like everyone but a few drunken rednecks agree with this bill is irresponsible.

No doubt it was a controversial bill, and while the issue is important, the actual implementation and selling of the policy was a train wreck. These last 14 months are text book for how not to pass a bill.Little Danny wrote: Regarding less as to whether it is 2/3, 1/2 or even 1/4, the fact of the matter is that a significant percentage of Americans have a problem with the bill. This whole thing could have been done in a few months if both sides would have dropped the grand ideas and instead adopt, small, constructive measures that would have gradually, over time, brought more people into the system that aren't insured, and eliminated horrible insurance practices.
I was a supporter of heathcare reform, but after the last few months came to the conclusion this bill was a huge failure.
Also, of note, poll numbers are stats, they can be manipulated to support any idea. For every one poll that says x, there is one that says y and one that says z. They are irrelevant to me. -

Pelosi is now viewed unfavorably by 64% of voters, which ties a high reached in August. That number includes 47% with a very unfavorable opinion of the California Democrat. Twenty-nine percent (29%) have a favorable view of her. Just seven percent (7%) of voters have no opinion of Pelosi. -

Assuming these polls are accurate, why would it be right for 1/2 of Americans to use the power of the federal government to force the other half to participate in their own health care solution. Show me in the constitution where the federal government is granted this power.gibby08 wrote: http://politicalwire.com/archives/2010/03/22/majority_opposed_doesnt_tell_full_story.html
