They have all said this bill be completely impossible to repeal. So if your party uses that as their main platform for the midterms, they will be just what they are calling us, LIARS!
Oh, yeah, I think you did.... -

Neither of those address the issue of the Supreme Court. They're simply saying that the bill is unlikely to be overturned just by the R's taking back congress due to, in the first link, a provision put in the bill, and in the 2nd, political strategy. The firsts link casts doubt on the constitutionality of even putting the provision in the bill.
There's 10 states already lined up to sue over this thing. It's a pretty big deal and aspects of it are unprecedented. There's a very good chance the Supreme Court will have their say on this bill. But that won't come for at least another 10 months. -
gibby08It's never going to be repealed...so get over it

I'm uninsured, and I would have been more than happy to support health care reform if it actually did a damned thing. This steaming fetid pile of dung does NOTHING to address the actual issues that have caused the cost of health care to skyrocket over the last 60 years; it's leftist horseshit packaged in mind-numbing rhetoric.stlouiedipalma wrote: "The sky is falling". Chicken Little at his best.
I hope all of the Republicans who are hanging their hats on this bill for the Midterm elections have sack enough to tell everyone that not one of them was willing to vote for health care reform, that each and every one of them was willing to turn their backs on Americans who have no health insurance and that, given the chance, they would be perfectly happy to return to the status quo, not to mention their support of complete deregulation of business and the financial markets and the "rich get richer" mentality which has permeated Republican policy for years. I doubt they will fess up to any of this, though, as the truth is something which gets in the way of their agenda. -

WriterbuckeyeA side aspect of this sideshow from NBC News tonight (it's the one I watched of the networks).
There was not one story, or part of any story, during their entire broadcast that so much as challenged anything that was passed.
It was praise for the bill and the people who passed it -- followed by stories that defended them and called out critics as being everything from evil to racists.
In short, it was textbook partisan hackery barely disguised as a news broadcast.
Even amid a time when such partisanship by so-called news organizations is anything but rare, this was the kind of thing that makes me hope all the old media dinosaurs die a quick and dirty death, and as soon as possible.
Journalism as it now stands in this country (the Jurassic media) needs to be torn down below the foundation and completely rebuilt.
Otherwise, it has no purpose to exist, anymore, since the folks running it aren't doing the basic job they were hired to do. -
Cleveland BuckThey serve their real purpose which is to spread the government's propaganda. They do it quite well actually.

eersandbeersObamacare will require 16,000 new IRS goons.
A new analysis by the Joint Economic Committee and the House Ways & Means Committee minority staff estimates up to 16,500 new IRS personnel will be needed to collect, examine and audit new tax information mandated on families and small businesses in the ‘reconciliation’ bill being taken up by the U.S. House of Representatives this weekend, according to Brady.

But but but, the bill is supposed to reduce the deficit? How is that going to be accomplished if the federal government has to hire and train 16,000 more workers at an outrageous wage?eersandbeers wrote: Obamacare will require 16,000 new IRS goons.

Why if this is such a "great piece of legislation does/ did it take:
A) back room threats and bribes?
B)... not take affect for 4 years? If people are that hard up for health care why not start it yesterday?
C) heck it's so important why hasn't B.O. signed it yet?
D) if it reduces the deficit why not implement it NOW?
And what ever happened to the party that told us from the day of the Roe v Wade ruling to "keep your laws off my body"? Why now is it ok for your beloved Gov. to tell me. why, how, when, I can get my care, and what treatments I can have? If gov is paying you dang well better believe they are gonna have a say in how much, and when I get care?
