Healthcare Passes 219-212

Belly35What is your opinion ... do the Democrats have the votes to pass this ObamaHealth Care?
If it fails ...............What is the backlash?
If it passes ...........What is the backlash? -
Swamp FoxI think they do.
-
I Wear PantsThey probably do. I mean the house passed the house bill which was a lot more divisive than the Senate bill. I mean the Senate bill doesn't have a public option or anything.
-
Cleveland BuckSure they do, they only need 50. The scumbags don't give a fuck about the consequences.

That's the incredible thing about it. I've never seen a political party regain power and self-implode so quickly.Cleveland Buck wrote: Sure they do, they only need 50. The scumbags don't give a fuck about the consequences.
BHO-Reid-Pelosi have made a HUGE mistake by assuming near-Super Majority rule was a mandate for socialism.
If these twits are successful in passing this bill the Wacky Trio will find out quickly enough this November that they've committed political suicide.
Unfortunately they'll have the last laugh because the damage will have been done.
Ironically the American electorate can blame itself for allowing it to happen. -
Shane FalcoIf they did they would have voted and passed it already.
Call their bluff, vote on it. -

It wont see the floor until they have the votes. -
majorsparkIt may not have to see the floor to get it passed. The could use a tactic called self-executing rule.

I've said it before....but I pray that they do this. Can you say "Speaker Boehner?" LOLmajorspark wrote: It may not have to see the floor to get it passed. The could use a tactic called self-executing rule.

Kind of ironic it is called "self-executing" rule. Political suicide.fish82 wrote:

ptown_trojans_1"self-executing rule" That is some shady shit right there. Does that mean they don't even have enough D's on board? Really, is support for the legislation that low even in Congress?
-
CenterBHSFanIt is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.
"It's more insider and process-oriented than most people want to know," the speaker said in a roundtable discussion with bloggers Monday. "But I like it," she said, "because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."
Ooops! You just let the cat out of the bag, Fancy Nancy!
But, glad you did!
The President of the United States of American doesn't know about the politics behind the biggest political move of his political career? The president lashed out at Republican critics who have argued that the health-care initiative would undermine Medicare, and he argued that the measure would end "the worst practices" of insurance companies.
"I don't know about the politics, but I know what's the right thing to do," he said,
Really?
Yeah, I guess he didn't hear Nancy admitting how there's a way to get around that. :dodgy:Undecided Democrats appeared unconcerned by the flap. Rep. Bart Gordon (D-Tenn.), a retiring lawmaker who opposed the original House bill and is undecided on the new package, mocked Republican criticism of the process. Ultimately, he said, voters will hold lawmakers responsible for any changes in law.
"I don't think anybody's going to say that we didn't vote for the bill," he said.

That procedure reaks of it. Not evan sure how it ever came to be a part of the rules of the house.QuakerOats wrote: The word 'tyranny' comes to mind. -

AMEN!!!
It's time for people to wake up and realize that the government (fed) is one entity made up of democrats, republicans and independents.
And it's got one freakin huge and hungry mouth.
It hits the lever, and we keep feeding it. And the bigger it grows, the more we have to feed it.
Are we all dumbasses, or what?! -
Belly35If this is the type of process "self-executing” Obama Administration, Reid and Pelosi are willing to take to get this HealthCare Bill passed …that tells me this Healthcare Bill is a fraud and scam and should be thrown out with the other trash in Congress and Senate on both sides.
If this is what Obama Administration, Reid and Pelosi and the other Socialist/Liberals want and how they are going to push their agenda …then “WE THE PEOPLE” will speak next…………. I have live through the Race Riots, Vietnam Protest and Public Disorder of Political Demonstration of the 60’s and early 70’s …. I care not the revisit those times ever again but will if I have to for the protection of my children and grand children freedom.
I urge everyone to call, write, e-mail or call your Congressman and Senator voicing your objection to this agenda of self-executing, reconciliation and corruption of the American Constitution.
This is no longer about Healthcare this is about a socialist agenda and corrupt government vs “WE THE PEOPLE” that believe in the Constitution of the United State of America. -

Bingo- although I would argue it was never really about health care in the first place.Belly35 wrote:

ptown_trojans_1I don't think it is as much about a socialist agenda as it is the leadership trying to save face and pass something for the sake of claiming a victory. It seems they want something to hang their hats on and say, "Look what we did." rather than admit that even if the votes aren't there, the thing is dead. More power than agenda.
It sounds dead to me at least. -
cbus4lifeThing is dead, i don't think they'll do this.
And, as Ptown said, less about a Socialist agenda and more about desperately trying to do something "big" to say they did it.
Which is a shitty ass way to do it.
Completely disgusted with how Obama has handled health care reform, and this is one disgruntled Obama supporter, as far as this is concerned.
Would love to see him spend time on other things, foreign policy, etc., and just let this one go the way of the dinosaur, and see what they can come up with at another point. -

They'll push this through at all costs. Obama/Pelosi/Reid are so tied to this bill passing now, they don't have any other choice.cbus4life wrote: Thing is dead, i don't think they'll do this.

Not too many Obama voters/supporters out there have what it takes to say and admit what you have just conveyed.
I actually think that the majority of Americans really want reformation of some sort to the current standards. Where the paths split is where some people call government expansion on health insurance "reform" and the rest of the people instantly balked.
Unfortunately for everybody, we're going to get something that's so far out in space you couldn't see it with the Hubble. -

I would only hope more congressmen could see this and how it make the political system look, how the American public is view thieir repersentation in DC. -
