Disgusted with Progressives

I picture that conversation with Kelly going something like this "this is the deal, and this is how the soldier and family feels and what they understand".....and not "here this is what you should say".like_that;1878831 wrote: You have to be very delicate with your words and he obviously failed with this particular widow.
When Kelly says "we all know what we signed up for", he's telling you NOT to patronize them with the danger, bravery and patriotism BS. -
CenterBHSFanYou know, the more I watch/read/hear "progressives" and their ideas - the more I can only conclude that there is nothing liberal in their worldview. These people are so far left that they are naturally wedded to the extreme right when it comes to their methodology and even some of their ideals.
It's becoming such a problem that people often confuse liberalism with progressivism and that's a huge problem. As much as I don't like it I have to admit that I've done the same thing more than once. It's really an unfair thing to do.
I am actually liberal-minded in a lot of things and the things I don't agree on I'm ok with because disagreements are, IMO, the generators of improvements. I'm also conservative in a lot of things with the same outcome: I don't always agree but I'm ok with it. There are also things on both sides of the aisle that I will probably never be ok with because they are against everything that aligns with courtesy, my principles of morality and/or human decency. Not to mention the obvious fact that nowhere on the political spectrum can be right at all times.
Seems that we've forgotten that.
True liberals of all walks of life don't want anything at all to do with progressive activists, either. They try to show that they are distancing themselves from this movement but are stifled at every turn: being demonetized and sandboxed on youtube, for example. And in the meantime all that happens is more of a divisive reaction.
So what do people do? How can they fix this? How can they fight back? If they try to say anything they are called deplorables or dismissed as hacks or uneducated or some sort of phobic. Is it a great shock that Trump won the Presidency? Yes and in numerous ways. Not only was he a crude loud-mouth that didn't speak for everybody or even to a good set of values, but Hillary was supposed to win by all accounts.
Is Trump the answer to initiate a way to combat a progressive movement that is born by marxist and communist thought (and no I'm not speaking for QO lol)? This is an honest question because I find myself questioning my own motives in my biased against him all the time. I think I have myself confirmed in all of opinions about it but there are still a few loose ends.
If he is the answer, when is enough... enough? Where are the brakes? Where and who is the standard bearer that can have people unite somewhere in the middle, because I honestly don't think Trump can do this.
Because at the end of the day, progressivism is a problem not only if you lean right but if you lean left, too. Thoughts? -
queencitybuckeyeTrue liberals are pro-small government and individual liberty. Like your income, the leftists have stolen the label.

Trump is not a conservative, and has few redeeming qualities to qualify him as POTUS. What he WAS is one gigantic protest vote against the nanny state, PC culture and the idea the govt is the solution to all problems (including problems created by the govt!).CenterBHSFan;1878887 wrote:If he is the answer, when is enough... enough? Politically incorrect and insensitive are not the same things. Tolerance/empathy are actually counter to the enabling embraced by identity politics. -

Disturbing....although I'm sure a survey done by the "Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation" was completely scientific and unbiased without agendas. -

So much truth in this statement. Add in that Hillary was a terrible candidate and you have all of the reasons he won.gut;1878900 wrote:Trump is not a conservative, and has few redeeming qualities to qualify him as POTUS. QuakerOatsThe biggest reason was left out:
The economic rape committed upon the middle class, particularly in the midwest, by establishment politicians and coastal elites over the last three decades. -

He claims to put America first. Has come out for limited immigration. But I could see the progressives being all in favor of his hiring practice. A mixed bag in other words.iclfan2;1880224 wrote:Which part? That he hires immigrants?

Not that long ago, we would have said the singer was just looking for attention and doing this for shock value.iclfan2;1880225 wrote: Singer told white people to go to back, volunteer said no, company removed her as volunteer citing that people of color need safe spaces. Gtfo
But I think she probably ACTUALLY believes this. This is the kind of libtardism that comes out of tiny bubbles where they sit around trying to out-do and impress each other with how compassionate and sympathetic they are. Entirely lost on them that their logic and thinking is inherently bigoted. -
iclfan2In other news, 20+ dead in a shooting at a small church in Texas. Same twitter media crowd who said don’t politicize an attack last week in NY have already to attack the NRA and ban guns (without ever actually coming up w a way a law could stop these type of things)
