My bad, did not see that at all loliclfan2;1871719 wrote:I didn't say none, I said not a material amount. What Hilary is alluding to is that a MATERIAL amount didn't vote for her.
But the opposite is also true. Guarantee both would get votes just for being a woman. Neither of which would be material. -

Perhaps I misinterpreted what you were implying, but I agree with you 100% that there are people of all persuasions that would not vote for her solely because she's a woman. I'm not sure "plenty" is the word I would use., but you did say "not a lot" also.SportsAndLady;1871714 wrote:Lol who cares if they're conservatives who are sexist or sexists who are conservative?
His line of "no conservative would refuse to vote for a woman" is just wrong. There are plenty of people out there, republican/democrat/libertarian/spaghetti alien party, that would refuse to vote for a woman just because she's a woman.
Not a lot, but some.
I also agree with iclfan2 in that there are people who voted for her simply because she was a woman.... and to that I might use the word "plenty" from my experience. -

I have no problem voting for a woman for President...or any other office, for that matter.iclfan2;1871719 wrote:I didn't say none, I said not a material amount. What Hilary is alluding to is that a MATERIAL amount didn't vote for her.

Just not THAT woman. -

Has any other politician in history written a book after a loss "explaining" why it wasn't their fault?wkfan;1871816 wrote: Just not THAT woman. -

I'm sure some have throughout history, especially in the 19th and early 20th century.FatHobbit;1871829 wrote:Has any other politician in history written a book after a loss "explaining" why it wasn't their fault?
I don't mind her putting out this book. Again, 2016 was a historic election and the greatest upset since 1947. The historian in me likes that we have her official account out there now.
You can disagree with her sure, but I don't fault her for putting out. Plus, this is most likely, her last act. -
queencitybuckeye
I suppose. It's just a little odd as her regard for history has gone more toward "At this point, what difference does it make?".ptown_trojans_1;1871835 wrote: I don't mind her putting out this book. I don't mind her putting out the book. She has the freedom to capitalize on that story. I haven't read it, nor will I read it, but a lot of the excerpts I am seeing pretty much confirms why most people hated her. The lack of self awareness is pathetic, and anybody who reads that book and still can't figure out why people didn't vote for her brings the lulz.ptown_trojans_1;1871835 wrote:I'm sure some have throughout history, especially in the 19th and early 20th century.

not surprising ....... and Oberlin gets mentioned -
gutOne last go around on the identity politics donkey. Only a liberal could get paid millions for a book blaming everyone and everything....that no one is going to read.
-
ptown_trojans_1I'll add something.
The Harvard Decision to add and then rescind the visiting fellowship for Chelsea Manning after former and current Directors of the CIA canceled an event.

Come on Harvard, ya think adding someone that leaked military intelligence to Wikileaks and got convicted would not lead to a reaction by the intel and foreign policy community? -

Amazon nailed for deleting the negative book reviews on their site .............disingenuous and disgraceful, par for the course though from the radical left wing losers. -
CenterBHSFanDems mad because Sean Spicer joked HIMSELF at the Emmy's. Good Lord, people...
-
iclfan2I'll just continue to LOL at the Emmy's. What a dumbass award show where the mega rich sniff their own farts and talk about how cultured and smart they are.

I quit watching those 'award' shows years ago...nothing good about a bunch of self-indulgent douche bags congratulating themselves on how well they portray a 'character'.iclfan2;1872462 wrote:I'll just continue to LOL at the Emmy's. One time I was glad that AT&T Uverse is not showing CBS at the moment.... -

Yea, I thought it was a bit much, Spicer was there making fun of myself. It is a joke folks, chill.iclfan2;1872462 wrote:I'll just continue to LOL at the Emmy's. What a dumbass award show where the mega rich sniff their own farts and talk about how cultured and smart they are.
I didn't watch any of it, started Ken Burns Vietnam and then HBO's the Deuce. But, I am glad the shows that won did win. They were all good. -
CenterBHSFanI read about it this morning but didn't think much about it; until I heard people during lunch at a local restaurant bitching and moaning about it. We just kinda smirked while listening to them and almost started laughing. They weren't trying to be quiet and it was almost like they thought everybody around them was idolizing them for their thoughts. Hard to explain but it was certainly funny!

While some celebs are very smart (James Woods supposedly has an IQ of like 180...never heard much of his politics), most don't have a college degree in anything like business, economics or hard sciences....most have never accomplished anything in an actual business (beyond sorting the mail)......iclfan2;1872462 wrote:I'll just continue to LOL at the Emmy's. I get that everything "political" is chaotic, but I'm confused on what social norms are being decimated:Thigh-High Politics is an Op-Ed column by Teen Vogue writer Lauren Duca that breaks down the news, provides resources for the resistance, and just generally refuses to accept toxic nonsense. We are less than a year into this presidency, and the Trump administration is decimating our social and political norms.
