Disgusted with Progressives

While I don't know exact percentages (a quick Google search just led to conflicting 12-to-1 and 5-to-1 in favor of liberal-leaning professors), the point remains the same. Rising costs is a tangible and logical reason for lower enrollments, as you're setting yourself up for a future of paying off that shit forever. If you're capable of college and choose not to go because you're afraid your little brain is going to be polluted by liberals, you deserve a future of sucking dick behind dumpsters for your next fix. The only interesting bit about that theory is that it would decisively prove that conservatives are intolerant little snowflakes if they're that scared of the mean ol' libs that they're making future plans based solely around hiding from them.gut;1858238 wrote:Aren't university faculty and administrations like 90% liberal? -

Hiding? Really reaching here now, and you usually seem reasonable... Maybe it's people not wanting to go to a shitty college that tries to squash free speech and who let lib groups march all over campus annoying everyone? It's inevitable that the majority of teachers are going to be liberal, but when the entire campus is leaning that way it would make sense for people not wanting to go there. The Mizzou case mentioned above is definitely due to regressive behavior on campus.Heretic;1858241 wrote:The only interesting bit about that theory is that it would decisively prove that conservatives are intolerant little snowflakes if they're that scared of the mean ol' libs that they're making future plans based solely around hiding from them.

Yes, MY POINT remains that liberals run universities....which was in response to you condescendingly mocking the idea that liberals are responsible for colleges becoming unaffordable.Heretic;1858241 wrote:While I don't know exact percentages (a quick Google search just led to conflicting 12-to-1 and 5-to-1 in favor of liberal-leaning professors), the point remains the same.
Then you launch into some herpaderp rant about blowjobs. Seek help. -

I never discussed the concept of it being liberals' fault colleges are unaffordable. Just the initial argument that people are choosing not to go simply because of the "leftist agenda" being taught there, to which I countered that rising costs of education are probably more relevant to things than that. You just took the argument in a different direction. If you want to say that liberals are the ones raising college rates, I'm not arguing. I'm just arguing that if someone chooses not to go to college because they're afraid they'll be polluted by a different political ideology than the one they've already been polluted with, they're complete morons.gut;1858301 wrote:Yes, MY POINT remains that liberals run universities....which was in response to you condescendingly mocking the idea that liberals are responsible for colleges becoming unaffordable.

QuakerOatsLiberals are generally out of touch with respect to economics, budgets, and business management. Since the majority of the people running and working at universities are liberals, it is not coincidental that many of the schools have financial problems. These people do not live in reality, never have, never had to make tough budget decisions. And, they have yet to see the worst.

AutomatikAhh yes, the staunch Republicans. If any group is "in touch" it would be them.

What *I* am saying is that some colleges' enrollment is down because some of thing shenanigans that have been going on there. I exampled Mizzou. What parent would want to send their kids to that particular college when there are so many false accusations flung about? And because of that kind of crap, the reputation overall is losing standing.Heretic;1858313 wrote:I never discussed the concept of it being liberals' fault colleges are unaffordable. What about Evergreen college? The students acting up there was so bad that at least one professor had (and still has) his life threatened, the dean wasn't even allowed to go to the bathroom by himself and the school is now closed with no idea when/if it will reopen?

And we all already know what has happened at colleges such as Berkley.
It's not the conservative kids pulling this crap. It's not conservative kids clunking people's skulls with bike locks, it's not conservative kids trying to stop free speech, it's not conservative kids coming to classes with baseball bats.
Conservative students look like free-thinking liberals compared to what is going on in campuses today with the progressives and marxists running the show. -

It's not even liberals that are the problem on campuses. It's the progressives kicking up all the dust. In fact, most liberals avoid those situations at all cost and want nothing to do with it.QuakerOats;1858318 wrote:Liberals are generally out of touch with respect to economics, budgets, and business management. Looks like part of the reason this school I had never heard of before is closed is due to threats made by someone possibly related to Belly or QQ.CenterBHSFan;1858325 wrote:What *I* am saying is that some colleges' enrollment is down because some of thing shenanigans that have been going on there. But, yes, it's all the "progressives" and not the conservatives. The school in Olympia, Wash., shut down abruptly Thursday after receiving a threat, remained closed Friday, and reopened Saturday after law enforcement had thoroughly searched the campus.
Last week, someone called the county 911 line and told the dispatch officer, “Yes, I am on my way to Evergreen now with a .44 Magnum. … I am going to execute as many people on that campus as I can get a hold of. You have that, what’s going on here, you communist scumbag?” -
iclfan2You also missed the article where they had day without white people. And threatened a professor for not participating. I can't imagine why a non regressive wouldn't want to go there...

That professor also considers himself a progressive. He was on the Joe Rogan podcast, and it's a good interview. Even he thinks modern day progressives are going too far. I guess being threatened would change your tune.iclfan2;1858368 wrote:You also missed the article where they had day without white people. And threatened a professor for not participating. Well, yeah, I mainly read the second article and not the third, which came off as "angry right-wing blogger yelling" instead of anything worth my time. But not denying that some students there are left-wing nuts; just the editorializing on the post essentially saying that it's never conservatives being nuts and just leftists, because when you have a guy threatening to gun down people while using "communist scumbag" in his rant and getting a school closed down as a result, it looks like both sides have their share of fuck-ups.iclfan2;1858368 wrote:You also missed the article where they had day without white people. To be fair, a lot of times these turn out to be hoaxes and could very well have been a regressive himself.Heretic;1858372 wrote:because when you have a guy threatening to gun down people while using "communist scumbag" in his rant and getting a school closed down as a result, it looks like both sides have their share of fuck-ups. -
HereticThat is true. This is the OC, where everything stupid any left-leaning person does needs magnified to the point where every single person who isn't pure conservative can be discarded as a loon and everything stupid any right-leaning person does either needs to be immediately dismissed as false or simply ignored.

My post was addressing why many universities are in trouble financially, and having enrollment problems.
Hope that helps. -
CenterBHSFanNo doubt tuition has its own share in the reason why enrollment is down. If government would just get the hell out of subsidizing and stay out, the prices would at least freeze. I'm definitely not stupid enough to think they would go down :RpS_w00t:

It's kind of funny....cheaper loans made college "affordable" and accessible to all, which means with the increased demand colleges are competing for the best students - so they turn the campus into an amusement park and tuition has to follow accordingly.CenterBHSFan;1858412 wrote:No doubt tuition has its own share in the reason why enrollment is down. QuakerOatsPlus, Little Johnny and Little Suzy can't live in a traditional dorm where you might have to walk down the hall to the bathrooms and showers. No, they need new, Embassy Suites-type accommodations. They also need safe spaces, and large, bureaucratic diversity offices to ensure no one is slighted in the least ........(unless you are a white male).
Straying from the core mission of graduating smart, critical thinkers, in order to perform radical social engineering is a travesty. -

Yeah, that $40k tuition & board buys a lot.....then Johnny gets out in the real world and is like "is this all $40k gets me?!?". Well, yeah, after taxes and student loans you only have like $20k not $40k.QuakerOats;1858692 wrote:Plus, Little Johnny and Little Suzy can't live in a traditional dorm where you might have to walk down the hall to the bathrooms and showers. iclfan2On a different note, I know there are a lot of shitty senators and house reps, but Kamala Harris is horrendous. She interrupts everyone all the time, and then the regressives say she gets interrupted back because she's a black woman. Or because she's a rude ass who needs to learn congressional rules.
