Spamming boyscouts with his political bullshit. The guy is such a disgrace.

I don't feel one bit bad about the fate Jeff Sessions is suffering. This is what showing loyalty to a pompous ass will get you. Sessions was an opportunist and got into bed with a jerk.

Trump just banned Transgender people from the military....on twitter
Does that mean all current transgender people are going to be discharged?
What about people that are already trans, are they not worthy enough now to serve?
Is it just for people already in the military that want to transition?

Huge fucking policy change that he just made on twitter.....
He also called them my generals...

    1) He should have let Mattis announce this.
    2) The issue for me is that step 1 was allow transgenders in the military. Ok, cool, that's fine. Step 2 is transgenders wanting tax payers to pay for their reassignment surgeries. I'm not sure if there were any other expenses besides "training", but if there was (places to stay/ shower/ etc) then I also have a problem with that.

How many people does this affect? 10?

Just reassign them all to Bangkok and problem solved!

This is not the first time that a commander in chief has done this, and I am going to go out on a limb and say it won't be the last...

As for the policy, it should be pretty simple. You join the military and identify with the chromosome you are born with. The DOD is bloated enough, and they don't have time to deal with that bullshit.

That was probably the plan, but Trump is a child and can't help himself with Twitter.

Yeah, this should have been a DOD led and Pentagon delivered announcement. Just goes to show how much the President loves his twitter feed.
If the policy is about the DOD not paying for transition surgery, then yeah, I'm all for that. The DOD/ Federal government should not be paying for that.
If it is banning all trans people from serving or that are already servicing, that is a problem and I highly doubt that will fly on the Hill or at the Pentagon.
I'm sure the DOD press office is loving this today....

RAND did a good study last year on the issue. It may impact between 1,000-6,600 soldiers.

So, today's story in "THAT'S OUR POLITICS" is a draft-dodger deciding who can and cannot choose to actually do military service. Good to know.

Was this one of the nation's biggest problems?

After they secede, CA will welcome them with open arms to their military.

Perfect timing to take the country's attention off the fact that Trump and Republicans can't get anything done regarding healthcare, as well as the whole Russia fiasco. This will dominate the news today, tomorrow it might be something else. What a stupid and ridiculous move though.

I believe it is the generals who actually decided and recommended, and he followed their advice. Obviously obama, who never served, wished to turn the military into a social engineering experiment, for political gain, but perhaps that is not the best course.

Apple-supplier Foxconn will announce a plant in Wisconsin on Wednesday evening, accompanied by President Donald Trumpand Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a source with knowledge of the announcement told CNBC.
U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., will also be present at the announcement in Washington, a source said. No exact location for the plant has been chosen — but the area of southeast Wisconsin between Milwaukee and Chicago is under consideration, according to a source.
A source said that seven states were considered for the expansion, but Wisconsin appears to be a preliminary winner, and Ohio is a contender. About 10,000 jobs could be created.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Foxconn may be eyeing a new U.S. plant for display panels.

He also didn't repeal the ban until 2016. Lame duck move. I must have missed all the outrage that he didn't let them in sooner...

When they go through the transition they become combat ineffective for quite a long time. If they were to continue to be able to serve the next step would not allow them to go through the change because they become non deployable. Just think how that would play to the liberals in stating they would not be able to change.

There is an ever increasing push to be combat effective and ready to deploy, even in your downcycle. We've already been told that when we get home don't get too comfortable and think it will be a full down cycle and readiness will be a priority since the force had been shrunk by Obama. Takes time to rebuild and train the force.

There are many things that can keep you out or get you booted. Diabetes...dven if you can manage it you cannot enlist. If you get diagnosed while in you get discharged unless you can prove you can manage it. People get the boot often for much less of a reason because it makes them unable to perform. Going through a change, hormonal therapy, etc will make that person unable to do the job. Someone could enlist, decide to go through the change prior to a deployment and miss it and by the time they are deployable again then their contract could be up and what did the DoD get out of that soldier? Debt. Nothing but debt for their training, bonus, incentives

ADHD and using adderall? Goodluck getting in. There are many things that keep people out that are much less intrusive to readiness of the force.

Not to mention people getting sued if you use the wrong pronoun. Thank you thavoice, after reading that it makes even more sense.

If that is the case, let the Pentagon announce and roll the policy out. The Pentagon today referred all questions today to the White House. This is a big ass policy change made on the fly. If we have transgender troops in Afghanistan, what happens to them?
Also, who exactly does it apply to? New recruits, existing military?
Trump created a clusterfuck by tweeting this out.

I'll dismiss the Obama social engineering comment as so far, it has not had any negative impacts and had the support of most on the Hill and Joint Chiefs.
