2016 Election Thread

iclfan2I'm not going to turn this into a global warming thread. Regardless if it is real or not, it isn't affecting anyone for hundreds of years. So "being afraid" is stupid

I certainly did.BoatShoes;1823898 wrote:Scores of poor Indians died this year in the hottest year ever.
Americans will be mostly fine. The most impoverished will suffer. But Americans voted for America First. -
Azubuike24I read where Trump's focus on deportation is going to be...wait for it...deportation of those here illegally and who have been convicted of a crime. And punishment for their resident country/city/county not taking them back. Not a witch hunt for anyone without papers. Not a witch hunt for those supporting non-citizens.
The sad part is...why the hell isn't this being done on the regular any time someone without citizenship is caught breaking the law? And then we try to send them back and their own country turns them away? And the USA is the bad guy> -

This summer was hardly brutally hot. Global warming (a.k.a. higher mean temperatures, after revising past temperatures lower) seems to be driven mostly by warming on the lower end....or in other words the lows aren't as low, particularly the colder months simply have not been as cold. But I suppose you won't be posting anything on how many people global warming has saved from dying in bitterly cold winters.BoatShoes;1823898 wrote:Scores of poor Indians died this year in the hottest year ever. -

Don't really have time to get into this, but you're making a lot of claims about me without knowing what the fuck you are talking about. Half of my family is Muslim and I've been around the culture way more than you ever have. It's not an excuse, I actually know what I am talking about, considering I have been around it my entire life. Well more than some useful idiot white male like you who only reads shit from liberal leaning articles. Just because I'm not religious, it still hits me home way more than it would ever hit somebody like you who has no idea wtf he is talking about. You're implosion on this thread is embarrassing. You're coming off as a typical sjw white male who is only a sjw in order to get laid.Commander of Awesome;1823823 wrote:1. That shows a profound lack of empathy. You clearly has never been targeted by such remarks, particularly by the now most powerful man in the world. When your family is in danger of being deported you don't have the luxury of "other" issues and when a major candidate uses your ethnicity as a campaign tool to rule up hate against you to win votes "other" issues are a bit hallow.
2. Trump was incapable of talking policy specifics so the "focus on the issues" bullshit is just that.
Oh and the "one Muslim I know wasn't offended so therefore it's ok" excuse is absurd.
You're also acting like I supported trump. Find one post where I said I was voting for trump. You can go ahead and defend the people protesting, but they are nothing but crybabies. They could have prevented this by having more people come out to vote... oh wait the Dems threw out a corrupt piece of shit so their turnout sucked ass. You should be mad at the Dems.
I will also bet you that trump does none of the things you all are crying about. -
like_thatAnd also lol at the irony of bringing up empathy when you voted for Hillary, who has ZERO empathy, especially with the blood on her hands from Benghazi. Self righteous COA in a nutshell. Pick and choosing when to use empathy if it fits his stance, but judges others on how empathetic they should be.

Lotta manpower will be needed for Trump's Bigly government
I don't know anything about "skin off" anyone's back and yes often it takes lots of resources to to enforce the law. I just asked a question regarding the obligation to do so.
I don't hold it against our government when the actually do enforce the law. In fact I expect them to. ...else, what's the point in having them at all? -

"Being offended doesn't work anymore"
Can we make that our national slogan?! -
queencitybuckeye"It's almost as if the political acumen of Beyonce and Jay-Z count for nothing".

Heretic
I think it counted as something. It's hard to stand behind a platform of "Trump is mean to women" when you're having a dude who has used the "bitches/hoes" lyrics in his music as one of your visible supporters.queencitybuckeye;1823950 wrote:"It's almost as if the political acumen of Beyonce and Jay-Z count for nothing". -

I didn't vote for Trump, but he pretty much hit on every reason I can't stand most liberals.queencitybuckeye;1823947 wrote:Spot-on analysis of the election, whose fault it was that it turned out how it did including why the polls were wrong.

But he's misguided in thinking the problem is just that liberals can't win arguments any more - they went to the identity politics and victimization game BECAUSE their ideas don't have good arguments. They make emotional appeals because they cannot make logical and factual cases. They take an emotional position that is hard to debate or disagree with, then conjure up some junk science to support it and declare the argument over...then mock and ridicule people who question their science (a.k.a silence the opposition).
Those types are very dangerous, but most of them are deathly afraid of Trump. They don't have the self-awareness or brains to realize Trump just played the same game they are playing, and is really just like them....it's only because they disagree with Trump that they aren't blinded to how dangerous he can be. -

Yeah global warming will mean fewer deaths of people in mostly industrialized world due to the while causing problems in the warmer, impoverished parts of the world. -

Helicopter parenting. Once had a parent get in my face after getting on a golfer of mine because after a triple bogey he threw his entire bag onto the green at a very nice course because it wasn't in an encouraging tone. lol it's ridiculous how everything is about try your best sweetie, it's like no work your ass off, do everything you can to win, and be proud of the results if you did those things.CenterBHSFan;1823744 wrote:They're bringing in "dog therapy" on some college campuses to help students deal with the stress and devastation of the results of the election process. I'm feeling disbelieving shame of parents who raise their children to be emotional wrecks. Is this the result of helicopter parenting? Parents who raise their children on electronics as the dominate parental figure? Are these kids just emotionally and mentally unstable to begin with?
And, more importantly, why are colleges feeding into this pathos?
It's crazy how scared some of my friends seem to be of the real world. I don't make huge money but plenty enough to get by at my age without kids and I've got quite a few friends who I graduated with working basic summer college jobs -
BoatShoesSaw this re Trump:
Trump is the hero we need to get white, conservative and rural America to be amenable to Obama's policies! #MAGABut he asserted that the remaining 8m to 9m undocumented immigrants in the country were “terrific people” and that a decision about whether or not to deport them would only be taken later into his presidency.
Mr Trump said his long-proposed wall on the US border with Mexico could include “some fencing”. “For certain areas, I would [accept fencing] but certain areas, a wall is more appropriate. I’m very good at this. It’s called construction.”
He also suggested he would now try to keep certain elements of the Affordable Care Act — also known as Obamacare — when he rolled out his own healthcare initiative, including allowing children in their twenties to stay on their parents’ healthcare plan and ensuring that people with pre-existing conditions were still able to receive coverage.
So no wall along the entire border, no expulsion of the 9 million illegals who broke no laws while in the US (Obama’s policy too), and no repeal of Obamacare. Three major promises broken today. -

iclfan2I saw people on Facebook still upset that he wants to send back 2m/ 3m illegals who are criminals. People are idiots
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Azubuike24Yeah, I read that last week.
His ONLY current planned action against illegal immigrants? Deport anyone without citizenship who are also criminals. And take action against their jurisdiction if they will not accept them. Because, of course, their own country/city/county just laughs at us when we ask them to take these people back. Of course they don't want them...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the type of shit that while we are too focused on the Kardashians and other nonsense, people just assume is already happening. Then, when Trump promises to do something that should make complete sense to any American, he's the problem. -
SpockWhat he needs to do is end the sanctuary city crap
-
iclfan2He's going to try, but corrupt Chicago has already said they won't be stopping.

Not surprised. These people have some pretty warped sense of ideology and compassion. There's nothing to be proud of in taking that stance.iclfan2;1824473 wrote:He's going to try, but corrupt Chicago has already said they won't be stopping.
