  I guess from my perspective here, to not count comments made by Sleeper (who tends to exaggerate in a trolling way to make points) and CCrunner (pure derp, all the time), the "blacks are D because they're looking for handouts" card does come from various conservative posters here (Belly, in particular, after one uses Rosetta Stone to translate his posts to actual English), which is what led to my initial post. I mean, if some people on one side are willing to essentially label one particular group to make a point, then why shouldn't people on the other side do the same sort of thing in opposition to it. A "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" sort of thing. Which is what made me look at the concept of "it's funny someone is just using certain groups to make their point instead of all minorities" as strange, since I see certain Rs on this site do it regularly, except they focus on the groups that are, in general, less successful.
  
  As for the last point, yeah. I'll accept responsibility on that. Slow day and watching MB turn into Isadore Jr. was amusing enough to me that I just kept him going until stuff picked up for me and I lost interest in his ineffectual attempts at taking jabs.   I agree with a lot of your points there. To me, there's a big logic-fail in placing social and fiscal conservatism together. Fiscal C has a lot of pragmatic logic to it, which I can definitely respect, especially as I get older (and coming into some solid $$$ via inheritance stuff doesn't hurt, either). Things like "don't have kids unless you have a financial plan other than going on welfare" should be ingrained in a person's mind.
  
  But there's a lot of stupidity out there, which leads to the welfare state philosophy. With a big problem in that social "bible-thumping" conservatism is anti-abortion because it's soooo important to preserve god's life (unless it's a war, then kill those foreigners!!!!) and, at the extremes, anti-birth control.
  
  So, what do you get? A lot of uneducated people popping out kids they can't support that we, as a people, have to support. To me, pure logic dictates that a person or family's income should dictate how many children (if any) they are allowed to have and fuck this "all life is sacred" bullshit, since just like everything else, that "rule" has so many exceptions made to it that it doesn't actually matter.
  
  To me, I think conservatism would resonate with the people a lot more if only the fiscal part really came into play. As time goes on in any society, views change on things and time is showing that a lot of social conservative ideals seem to be becoming viewed as outdated and archaic, leading to the R side essentially shooting itself in the foot by trying to play to too many groups.

What I have done is ridicule the widespread notion that poor people of all races have equal opportunity with middle class and rich people.   I care about creating opportunities for the poor but not just minorities. Creating opportunities doesn't always translate into people taking those opportunities especially given that you can just sit on your ass and collect welfare checks for your 8 children with 5 different fathers.

  Anyone ever stop and think that slavery may have been the best thing to ever happen to the majority of black people? With some exceptions, most slave owners gave their slaves food/shelter/medical care which already trumped their current life fighting wars and dying from diseases in Africa. Bounce forward 200+ years later and Africa is still a shithole while current black people get the royal treatment here in America and can at least have the taxpayers bail them out if they ever get in trouble.
