  Well, for starters, democrats in political office used to be more ... eh, accessible?, for lack of a better word. Particularly in local offices. In some cases in my area, this is still true, but for the most post they are untouchable, you can't talk directly to them, they never call you back. Come to think of it, most of those people have been recently voted out of their office. So there's that.
  They also used to be able to relate to many of the deplorables.
  I remember when local and even some national democrats wanted people to be recognized for the content of their character, not for their sexuality, color of their skin or their religion (if applicable). People were people and all deserved to be recognized. Even white people. Even Christians.
  I remember when the news put just as much scrutiny on democrats as they did republicans.
  I remember when the democrat party wanted to give a hand up, not provide cell phones.
  Democrats used to show a way out, not provide ways to easily keep you boxed in.
  
  I could go on, but that's the general picture. That party no longer exists. It let itself be taken over by the fringe, to the point where the fringe is dominant and everybody else is deplorable. Today's D party no longer works for everybody, or even makes a token effort. It's sole effort is seemingly segregation by identification - and I tell you, they have no plans to change.
  Why?
  Because the lead actors in this drama bring money to the party (I'm looking at you, Nancy Pelosi). They just displayed this, openly, in the past year. I mean, they don't even try to hide it any longer. Nobody can fight for change within the party because if they do, they are immediately ostracized and kept out of the game (looking at you, Tim Ryan). Or bought out (looking at you Bernie Sanders).
  
  When people say the old line of "I didn't leave the democrat party, the democrat party left me", I can certainly relate. And, more to the point, millions have come to the same conclusion.
  
  The democrat party offers the moon and only delivers welfare, and I just can't believe in it anymore.

  I wouldn't say blaming a video was "much ado about nothing". That was a big, big deal. But this is the problem - liberals will throw a fit if a Repub does something like that, but they've been very dismissive of that lie (and others with Obamacare). And that is going to continue until voters hold their own party accountable to the same standards they hold the ones they don't vote for.

  wake up. People died in Benghazi due to a cowardless do everything based on politics POTUS and Sec. State. Russia never hacked anything. Wikileaks were given stolen emails from within the DNC. THe Russia narrative started months afterward.

  Ok, time to leave some of the levity behind.
  Of course it is ancedotal. If you see the the exact posts that led to it, it was myself and BS asking each others opinions - not asking for linear facts. I'm still waiting to hear BS's "ancedotal" perspective but maybe he is having a hard time coming up with answers with clarity. I don't know.

  He was voted out of office after he announced that he was going to vote for Obamacare and then further shut his constituents out from giving feedback. He had very sheltered townhall meetings, would not reply to letters or phone calls about it (Obamacare)and proved himself to be more interested in being loyal to the party, rather than the people who lived within his district. Consequently he was voted out of his office.
  
  I get that you don't like how I came to my perspective but explain, please, how it was "deranged".
  
  You might very well be satisfied that the democrats are now more focused on topics such as sexuality and gender, but there are just as many if not more people who would rather focus on more important things. Like jobs in other sectors than the service industry (McDonalds). There are other more immediate things to worry about than social engineering.
  
  And now the dems in power are making an absolute joke out of themselves blaming Comey, Russia, FOX news, going so far as to trying to get Mika Brzezinski (a liberal from MSNBC who disagreed with their campaign tactics) fired from her job, angry white men and now even Obama. They are now propogating and condoning safe places with therapy dogs, playdough and cry-time. Yes, let's delve further into "deranged". /sarcasm/
  
  I don't mean to sound condescending, but you really should at least try to take a step back and look at what your chosen party has come to and what it is doing.

  Well, and it's now become acceptable for science and economics to push an agenda. You will often see someone give a quote or an interview that doesn't align with what they publish, or what they would stake their academic reputation on.
