  Most 50 year old men aren't rapists. A 12 year old girl going to the bathroom and where a transgender man is also in isn't a big deal.

  The point is it isn't just a transgender in the bathroom with the little girl, it could be any man or pervert. I don't think anyone is concerned with an actual transgender doing the raping or whatever you want to call it. It's the fact that the law opens it up to all freaky white dudes like the subway guy. And if you don't have a problem with the federal government forcing schools and what not to allow transgenders (which is literally 0 of the population) then you aren't really a republican which at its core is against the federal government making overarching laws that don't concern it.

  Look, nobody is telling anybody that they can't use a friggen restroom. They are saying use the biologically correct restroom. This shouldn't be difficult, especially in schools, both bathrooms have stalls. There ya go, privacy.

  I think some really care (I.e QO), but a lot of us (I.e me) don't care what bathroom they use.
  
  What I care about is the government taking time and resources to make this an issue for a group of people that make up .3% (lgbt statistics not mine) of our population. I hate the lowest common denominator on the conservative/republican side, but the lowest common denominator on the lib/democrat side (and even a lot of intelligent people) just eats this shit up. It's beyond me how a large majority of people on both sides are blind to the fact these narratives are just a ploy to make one party look like angels and the other like demons. It's all about getting those votes and to stay employed and nobody sees that. It's truly pathetic.
  
  I have a friend who has a good college education that just recently got into politics. He posted some dumb shit, so I trolled. He then listed why liberals are better because republicans are bigot!, abortion!, gay rights!, poor people!, etc. Basically a real life version of isadore. To take a phrase from our resident deadbeat; "hook, line and sinker." It's hilarious that people actually think that 90% of these politicians truly care about these petty issues. Look at Hillary, (or trump) it's so damn obvious she is pandering to voters that it should make your eyes bleed. She literally wasn't for any gay rights until 2013 when she started to gear up for her run at the WH. Either our country is this fucking stupid or they would rather turn a blind eye and perpetuate the bullshit narrative we see everyday for both parties.

  Yeah, that wasn't directed at people like you. Realistic and non-extremist republicans will pick and choose what battles to fight when it comes to the federal government. We all know they're going to get too involved in certain areas, people like QO get crazy over every thing. People like you and I will wait until it actually means something. Transgenders in bathrooms is not something that anyone should really GAF about lol

  Nope, and I was naive enough to think the GOP would have learned their lesson after 2012. As much as I was happy they took over the house and senate in hindsight it probably would have been better if they didn't. Maybe then they would realize they have to make actual changes.

  Comparing transgender's wanting to go into a different bathroom than their genetics/anatomy is plumbed up for is not in the same universe as "separate but equal" schools/fountains/buses, etc.

  I just last night read a paper from a doctor that recently resigned from the American Psychiatric Assoociation due to disagreements in the new DRM-5 standards. In the previous release (DRM-4) transgender was a diagnosable psychiatric disorder, similar to anorexia. Now, it is only a symptom of a possible anxiety disorder (basically if societies treatment of you causes you anxiety, or your body, etc).
  
  His paper suggested that the reason for the diagnoses forever was similar to something like anorexia. You look in the mirror, you are obviously skinny but your brain 100% believes you are fat and you NEED to (have an irrational compulsion to) lose weight. Your brain is seeing something totally different than physical reality.
  
  For the previous transgender diagnosis, you look in the mirror, you see one sex but your brain 100% believes you are the opposite sex and you NEED to (have an irrational compulsion to) change your sex. Your brain is seeing something totally different than physical reality.
  
  His paper talked about how the ONLY reason that the DRM-5 diagnosis changed was due to the LGTB lobby pushing for it to change and not be a mental diagnosis anymore.
  
  I have also read since then that there have been studies sense that compare those with eating disorders and their "psychosis" levels with disbelief of what they see vs transgender's and that the transgender's "psychosis levels" were MUCH lower than those with eating disorders.
  
  So the science can/is on both sides here and needs to be figured out before we go all "civil rights! just like separate drinking fountains!" on everyone.
