They had Governor Christie on this morning. It was pretty good stuff.

Damn. Wish I'd understood. I kept thinking to myself, "Holy shit! Ptown's half in the bag!"

Here is Christie this morning. Great stuff btw. He is a regular on the show too.

One thing I love about the show is the ability to have full on conversations and lengthy debates and answers.

Christie is a solid guy. I wish more Politicians were like him (in the sense he seems to be really honest and have no filter and actually takes on tough issues)

Exactly. Something you'll not find on any of the nightly cable-based political programs.

For those that keep repeating that the governor will not be running for prez in 2012, ask yourself this: Why does he keep showing up on national TV networks and discussing national politics?

You should be afraid....very afraid. He would obliterate the current occupier. Unless, of course, the debate is about his weight...then, and only then, will the Obama-ites have a chance. ;)

BG, careful about counting your election eggs before they hatch.

Might as well not even have the election then right?

That's the same attitude folks had with Bush during his first term. That turned out well for them didn't it?

Keep on denyin. Keep hopin he stays in New Jersey. Better wind up Acorn to start diggin up dirt, like $2000 in "excessive" hotel charges. What buffoonery.

This guy runs rings around Bush 41, whom should have kissed Reagan's feet every day he was the VP, for Ronnie made him what he was. When you say, "read my lips, no new taxes", and then acquiesce like Charlie Brown to Lucy's football, you get exactly what's coming to you. He chose his path to destruction because he was weak. Chris Christie is anything but weak.
  • I Wear Pants
The Bush I was talking about was never a VP.

I've said on this site several times that I have deep admiration for Christie, even though I disagree with his politics. I still think he'll wait until 2016, if for no other reason than he can see what a difficult task lies ahead for anyone elected in 2012, including Obama.

He does need to do something about the weight, however. I fear that he would never be able to withstand the rigors of a national campaign as he is now. Perhaps he could spend the next 5 years getting himself into better condition health-wise. It also wouldn't hurt his standing among Republicans if he had more time to accomplish his goals for New Jersey. Just think, a Governor who not only completed his term, but had success in accomplishing his agenda. That's a pretty refreshing thing for Republicans to hang their hats on.

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker got a prank call by someone claiming to be David Koch. The twenty minute call provided some interesting incite on whats going on in Wisconsin and how much influence the Koch brothers have.

No different than in any other state. Those who have, have the ear of government officials. That's the way it's always worked, regardless of party affiliation.

People get into politics for a job that pays what 80, 100, 200 thousand dollars a year? Yeah right, both sides spend MILLIONS to get a person elected, how much money are they making off of their decisions? Being a politician for the sake of doing what is right and helping your fellow man has been DEAD for years! You are fooling yourself if you think that, just like some of you are saying that teachers dont care, they just worry about the money, same thing here!~ How much do some of these federal Reps and Senators get on kickbacks and jobs after their stint? Boggles the mind!

Some many pages ago there was a story about how Milwaukee public school teachers were making total compensation of over $100K per year. I wanted to check this out and found that this was put out by the McIver Institute, a right-wing think tank (now there's an oxymoron for you!). I wanted to know more about them and, in doing so, I found this:

Now, as we all know, any linked source put on Ohio Chatter is subject to scrutiny, particularly if some of us don't support the source's political leanings. I just found this to be an interesting read.

That same left-wing rag I just linked had another story in it which caught my eye. Another interesting claim:

I really like what Christie represents, but I don't think he is running in 2012. I'll go by what the man has said. If he does run in 2016, I'd likely support him (depending on the field of canidates). He has said he is not ready to run for president and I believe him.

Iunno maybe 1. He likes Morning Joe a lot. 2. He likes to discuss what is going on in his state, that is what he usually talks about. He is brought on to provide a possible model for other states. (Which NY has adopted btw). 3. I'm sure he wants to stay in office and see his work done. I'm not sure he has national ambitions. He rarely discusses national issues, instead focusing on NJ.

I don't see him running in 2012. 2016, sure, I could see that.

Maybe. But he shows up on Fox News Sunday, Faze the Nation, and Meet the de-Pressed occasionally as well. While he certainly reps NJ, he's not on there to tell the world about the NJ legislature, now is he? Why else go on there? What for? Time to think outside the box, eh?! j/k

Did you notice in October and November of last year, he openly campaigned for conservatives in other states. If he only cares about NJ, then why bother with other states? Doesn't he have enough to keep him busy? Why does he care about the governor of California? Does NJ do a massive amount of business with Cali?

I hear him say he's not interested. I hear him say he's the NJ governor. I hear him claim he's got a job to do. But what does he DO???? Actions speak 10 times louder than words to me, and his actions tell me he's very interested in the national spotlight. He has a touch of narcissism in him in that he wants to be dragged into 2012 as the man to right the ship. All politicians are narcissists, but he still has miles to go to catch the current occupier of the chair he seeks.

Depends which obama you are talking about. :)

I find it amusing (and ironic) when all these pro-union folks piss and moan about the Kochs and their financial backing of the governor -- but ignore the tens of millions of union dollars that go exclusively to Democrats each and every year.

The big money in elections these days doesn't come from corporations and businesses -- it comes from unions.
