    I'd rather not weigh in. We're the largest/most well-regarded firm in Wisconsin, and as this goes through the court system, I believe it's likely that we'll be involved. Because of that, it's probably not wise for me to opine.

    So what's the deal with this injunction ignoring thing? Should I be outraged that a governor is ignoring the way our legal process works to continue on the path he wants or is something else happening?

    The public workers seem to have forgotten who they work for. Nothing like trying to get one's way by bullying the boss.

    Let's hope that the people being threatened start posting signs telling the union to kiss their ass!

    Members of Wisconsin State Employees Union, AFSCME Council 24, have begun circulating letters to businesses in southeast Wisconsin, asking them to support workers’ rights by putting up a sign in their windows.
    If businesses fail to comply, the letter says, “Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means 'no' to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members."

    Or better yet, allow the signs to be put up, but refuse to serve union workers at their establishments.

    Union isn't a protected class, correct? ;)

    I don't think hyperbole can even begin to do this justice - I had a business that had a publicly-available address, I can't imagine what reaction I would have if a dimwitted clown showed up, told me to put up a sign on my window (regardless of the message) and threatened to "boycott" if I refused to comply with these feeble demands. Laughter would be the first reaction. The second reaction would be questioning the dimwit what happened if I decided to boycott his business (read, not pay my taxes).

    That's ridiculous, but I can't say I blame the guy for trying. I mean, he's going to be out of a lucrative easy job pretty soon, and no one is going to want to hire him.

    Just in his mid-20s, Brian Deschane has no college degree, very little management experience and two drunken-driving convictions.

    Yet he has landed an $81,500-per-year job in Gov. Scott Walker's administration overseeing environmental and regulatory matters and dozens of employees at the Department of Commerce. Even though Walker says the state is broke and public employees are overpaid, Deschane already has earned a promotion and a 26% pay raise in just two months with the state.


    Yeah, Walker is really cutting down on the government waste in Wisconsin. What a sham.

    Shameful, but one bad personnel decision doesn't negate what he's tried to do, otherwise. I would suspect Walker didn't make this hire himself, but some underling he trusted went forward with it. I also predict it will not end well for Mr. Deschane, since it has been brought to light.

    Hiring cronies happens in every administration, including ones who aren't qualified. But when they come to light and the media pressure hits, they usually end up hitting the bricks.

    It seems the voters are voicing their concerns in Wisconsin. The state Supreme Court race appears headed for a recount.

    Eh, first it's NPR....:p

    Second, it only shows once again how evenly divided this country is politically.

    Third, it always amazes me that when a Dem is in a tight race, recounts are almost automatic.
