D1...no locks...113 is weak overall so does Conklin (Whetstone) have a shot? 138 Alexander (Northland) outside shot, but weight class is brutal.great95;1077941 wrote:who do you think will qualify for states from the city league
D2...Gusan (Walnut Ridge) lock in my book....other possibles Mills (Mifflin), Hendricks (Centennial), Patrick (MF)
Who else? -
great95maybe Messer (MF) even Gray(MF) has a big chance since Griffith from big walnut is out
Brookhaven 160 might be able to do it...he's been having a good season
but anyone has a shot it all depends on who shows up to wrestle -

This last line has the most logical thing I have read in awhile. Some kids read rankings and base how they wrestle on those rankings. The bottom line is that the best wrestlers will advance on that day. Whomever shows up to wrestle will go. This is an exciting time of the year for wrestlers and coaches. Sectional tournaments have a weird feeling sometimes. As a coach, I can tell who is going to advance most of the time. I can also tell who wants the season to be over. The goal is to keep everyone motivated to perform.great95;1077979 wrote:maybe Messer (MF) even Gray(MF) has a big chance since Griffith from big walnut is out

Suburban wrestlers get burned out this time of the year. Time for the city kids to catch fire! Every city team has at least one kid that could be a DQ if they are motivated to be their best. Hope Travis Gusan wins state and shuts up all the naysayers.lowsingle174;1078134 wrote:This last line has the most logical thing I have read in awhile. I would love to see that. Travis is a great kid who has MORE than put the time in. We've been seeing him at youth tournaments since 4th grade. Good luck, Travis! Get to the top of the podium.Hope Travis Gusan wins state and shuts up all the naysayers. -
great95i agree Gusan is a tough wrestler he deserves to be in the top 5..... and so does many other city kids that have been grinding and putting in the work.... this is the time of the year where you gotta be mentally tough and go get the job done....hope to see more then 1 or 2 city kids wrestling at Schottenstein center on march 1st...good luck to you all

huntergreen26Does anyone have the schedule for the 2 days of the tournament?
-
lowsingle174The Tournament is a one day affair this year. It is going to take place this Saturday at Centennial High school. Wrestling is slated to start at 10.
John Copas has not been with us for the past 3 years. His son had a wrestling stint at Pickerington Central High, and he just had another son this past summer. He is a busy dude, but still a Red-Devil Icon. He may show up to city's dressed like Mr. Peanut, in a tuxedo and a moniker -
