PopKatCentennial and West Battle it out for First Place. Maybe a slight edge to Centennial because of depth, however those guys from West are always ready to rumble. I pick Mills (Mifflin) to win at 138, plus Mifflin will have a few others in the mix.
-
sackerdrag_135Charles Parkham has to be in the discussion at 138. He has had some solid wins this season and he is from Canton:rolleyes:
-
sackerdrag_135Cisco is tough at 132 but I think the WHetstone kid had a solid win over him in the dual. I also think the MF 106 and 152 need to be in the discussion.
-
champion12I put robertson at 170 from mifflin and souths 160 in top three

PopKat, im not sure if you have seen Marion Franklin anywhere else but the team that was at ready was not them at full strength, as of right now they are still the HEAVY favorites.PopKat;1064476 wrote:Centennial and West Battle it out for First Place. great95whose at heavyweight this year....who are the top three
-
Westie1011. Gusan, Walnut Ridge
2. Gray, Marion Franklin
3. Gray, West
yes, they are both gray. -
great95whats gray(both) and gusan record
-
Westie101I believe Gusan is undefeated at this point. As for the Grays, I do not know but both have placed at all of the tournaments they have wrestled in.
-
great95i believe grayMF won Grandview this past weekend over a pretty good logan elm kid
-
lowsingle174I like mills a lot, but I don't think he has the horsepower to beat Alexander from Northland. That kid is PHYSICAL. He may be my favorite wrestler to watch. He was the MOW at Grandview and impressed the crap out of me.
-
PopKatI have not seen Alexander wrestle...so no comment at this time.
-
champion12Did parkem(mf) wrestle Alexander(northland) yet at 138
-
lowsingle174Parkham did NOT wrestle Alexander yet. I think that the Best weights at the city tourney are going to be 138 and 145. Each one of these weights is very deep. Great competition. This is what the tourney needs.
No one is going to touch Gusan at the City League Tourney, he is a head and shoulders above everyone in that weight class. I think HWT will be pretty competitive as well.
On a side note Marion-Frankin Just wrestled Licking Heights and Buckeye Valley last night and won both matches. It is that time of year where teams are beat up and banged up. We wrestled last night with 4 jv kids in the line-up. Hopefully we can get our line-up healthy for the next few weeks. -

I saw Alexander last year when he was with Dublin Coffman at the Medina tourney......he did not place at 125 but he did pin the eventual D2 125 state champ from Oak Harbor (Hackworth) during the tourney......gives you some kind of idea what he is capable oflowsingle174;1064703 wrote:I like mills a lot, but I don't think he has the horsepower to beat Alexander from Northland. lowsingle174I believe Mills is up there witht he best guys. I think that Alexander is up there with the top guys. I want to see this match. I have seen parkham wrestle some of the best guys and win. I think that the greatest factor in the victory in these matches will be athleticism. Of course there is conditioning as well. I'm intrigued about these match-ups. Either way there are going to be some good semis and finals going on.
I also heard that Centennial had a good kid at 138. Centennial is not a sleeper, they are always in the mix.
Does anyone else feel like sectionals in DII is going to be a second city league tourney! Crazy.. -
PopKatAs always, lots of unanswered questions come tournament time...IMO the best outcome for the Columbus wrestlers is an even split at the sectional draw, giving our guys a better shot at Districts. Split the Brackets with Columbus wrestlers (at Districts) and we have a legit shot at sending several wrestlers to the big one. I do have a Mifflin bias, however I have met a lot of good, hard working Columbus wrestlers over the past three years. Anybody from the City Leauge at the States is good for all Columbs wrestlers.

I agree 100% witht his Comment. I will be trying to go to the toughest sectional in the next few weeks. I will most likely be at Licking Hts. Based on teh fact that Licking Valley will be there, and they guys we get out will be away from the top teams at our sectional. I guess you can only strategize so much, and the kids ultimately have to wrestle to get the job done. I want to get as many guys trhough to Claymont as possible.PopKat;1066298 wrote:As always, lots of unanswered questions come tournament time...IMO the best outcome for the Columbus wrestlers is an even split at the sectional draw, giving our guys a better shot at Districts. I think there are legitimate shots at kids at wrestling and Placing.
I will have a list of those I think can make it late on.. -

Westie101just two weeks out, how did everybody do this weekend? West brought eight to the Sally George, placing four with Johnson and Stockton bringing home gold.
-
PopKatMifflin took 4 Wrestlers to Mt. Gilead...Mills undefeated at 145. Centennial Team second place. Waits undefeated at 145. Pools and Duels Format Mills and Waits again missed a head to head.
-
Westie101Well we will either see a great match at 138 or a three headed dragon at 145 this year, either way should be great. How did Robertson of Mifflin do?
-
PopKatHe did not wrestle this weekend
-
champion12Where is every one at this week?
