My son and I went to watch the Midlands one year when he was about 12 yr old. Sometime during day two, he looks at me as if he had just figured out quantum physics or something, and said-- "Dad, have you noticed how "Hot" all the wrestlers girlfriends are?"
I don't know why I remember that, but it reminds me of that last line in the ZamBrown post.
Hot chicks love us wrestlers -
falcon81You gotta love two greats like World team member Dustin Schlatter and Olympian Jake Dietchler being pert of your team and sons lives! The company you keep and the books you read will dictate where you go in life and the level of happiness you attain.

A funny story that sort of goes with this ^^. My son and I went to the State Tournament - gosh, this was probably his 7th grade year. There was a pack of very attractive High School girls sitting right behind us that were there to support their brother/boyfriend, whatever. I see that he has noticed these girls as they leave and come back to their seats numerous times, but then we overhear the conversation.Wolverine12;671420 wrote:On a lighter note-

Girl #1: How long does the game last?
Girl #2: It's 3 two minute quarters, I think. (hesitation) Yeah, 3 two minute quarters.
He looked at me and I looked at him and he just shook his head and said, "never mind." LOL -

Wolverine12I just saw on The History Channel that the pilgrams landed at Plymouth Rock because they were almost out of beer, and decided to "pull over" so to speak, so they could brew a fresh batch of the golden nectar.
Good God.....Is there ANYTHING beer can't do??????? -

I don't believe there is. -

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.

Although myself and my sons were four time sectional qualifiers, we still made it to the state tournaments, all be it as spectators. My sons loved when we had upper deck seats because they loved watching the girls walk up. I couldn't keep them focused on the wrestling. Girls love a guy who can man handle someone.Wolverine12;671420 wrote:On a lighter note-

No. I think that's the moral of college. Beer can do anything.Wolverine12;671495 wrote:I just saw on The History Channel that the pilgrams landed at Plymouth Rock because they were almost out of beer, and decided to "pull over" so to speak, so they could brew a fresh batch of the golden nectar.

falcon81Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places!
13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having DONE ALL, TO STAND!! Amen!!!
You gotta love wrestling!!! You gotta love TRUE wrestlers at heart! -
falcon81This whole thread started with some Beers! At the right time and place a great cold Beer can be a great thing!

falcon81Gen 32:24 And Jacob was left alone;and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day...and he said let me go , for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me! Wrestlers are persistent and never quit until the fight is won. God Bless wrestlers!!
Could not find a reference for you basketball players... I tried. -

snugglyhippo"O God:
Ease our suffering in this, our moment of great despair
Yea, admit this good and decent woman into thine arms in the flock in thine heavenly area up there
And Moab, he laidest down in the land of the Canaanites
And yea, though the Hindus speak of Karma, I implore you

Wolverine12Man, I love this time of year-
I know a kid, wrestled since youth programs, kinda uncoordinated, never really grew into his feet, so to speak, always one of the hardest workers in in any practice room.
I have watched this kid for years, pulling his opponents on top of him on his feet, forehead always glued to the mat, always a move and a half behind even mediocre opponents, kinda bastardizing every wrestling fundimental known to man. Sometimes you watch him, and just mumble to yourself, "what the he!! was that?"
FR-Sectional- two-n-out
SO-Sectional- one-n-two
Jr-Secional- Disrtict alternate
Now he's a senior. Team captain with about a 50/50 record. He knows this is his last shot at wrestling with the big boys at District. Last shot at forever being able to say "ya, I was a District Qualifier". Putting on a look of supreme confidence this year, ya know, Team Captain, Senior, all that......but I can recognize the uneasiness and doubt in his swagger.
I'm tell'in you, I've seen him wrestle this year, and it's gonna be close.-------------------- Coach- time to pull out all the stops and get this kid to District.
always alot of focus on the State Caliber kids, ...........but Man, I'm really pull'in for this kid................Lucky for this kid, his HS coach realizes that not everybodies "State Tournament" is wrestled at the Schott
You know this kid too?
