knightflyer150My esteemed colleague, dadymuthafkintez, is stating that Mifflin's 285 pounder has his academics in full order and is prepared to compete at the Columbus City School League Championship event.

lowsingle174dadymuthafkintez just set the whole human race back 20,000 years with a single post. Bravo my friend.
Knightflyer150, I too speak Jive, and also deducted that his buddy is ready rumble.

powerdoubleGusan can come at 215 or heavy either way !!!!! Might be a suprise to all.

Fatmanroll>PetersonDid I miss something? Did a post get deleted? Did I miss out on all the fun? Bummer
Powerdouble, What is going to be a surprise?
Color me confused. -
nic1633cHe is saying gusans weight class is a surprise but I'm sure he will be at 285 and if that's the case he is not a lock
-
Fatmanroll>PetersonGusen is suppossed to be going 215 this weekend at St. Charles. If he stays at heavyweight he has beaten my kid 3x. My kid can possibly beat him, but it's going to take a huge effort and Gusen is going to have to make a mistake which he really hasn't done in the past three matches so it's a close lock in either weight class.
What is the story on this Mifflin heavyweight? I don't remember him at all last year. Is he a transfer or just a big kid in his first year of wrestling? -
lowsingle174Mifflin brings in 4-5 legit shots at champs. They will surprise many. I know the HWT he was a middle school state champ, beating Gusen in the finals. I hope he is eligible and ready to go. The more good wrestlers in the city, the better for all teams. I hope he comes out ready to wrestle, which I'm sure he will be. On a side note, Chad Jones is going to be at 140 for city 95% sure of that. Either 40 or 45 depending on where he helps MFHS at the most.
BTW I don't think anyone is a lock at any weight. Crazy stuff happens in the blink of an eye in wrestling meets.
I am anxious to watch the 112 from Briggs wrestle Johnson from west, Jones Vs. Either Bingham or the 140 from Mifflin again. Patrick Wrestle the 160 from Mifflin. West and Mifflin at 189, plus Juty from Briggs. I hope that the 125 from Centennial and the 125 from whetstone meet up, both tough as nails. I am ready for good matches. I am sooooooo Glad it is one day as well...
Good luck everyone! -
80babyLowsingle I’m with you I to am glad that our meet is one day just like our DI sectionals. I think this is really going to be a very exciting meet and there will be some teams that will surprise some people with their performance. My only hope is that the kids take the excitement and momentum from the City League meet into sectionals and district and don’t reach their peek for the league meet. Don’t get me wrong I’m a product of the City League and proud of it and I know how the kids feel when they place in the City meet and I never want to take that away from them. However, through the entire season when has being a CCL champ or placer been a seeding criteria for a tournament other than the City meet? It’s what you do the 3 weeks after that people remember. I wish everyone the very best for the remainder of the season.

THe 112 from Briggs has handled Johnson twice and would certainly be favored over him should they meet again. He is a scrappy kid and tough on top. 140 will be a deep weight at cities with Jones, Mifflin kid, Farias, and Davis. I was also very impressed with the 125 (Hendricks) and 135 (Waites?) for Centenial.lowsingle174;647442 wrote:Mifflin brings in 4-5 legit shots at champs. They will surprise many. Ok so the mifflin HWT to my knowledge didnt win the middle school state he was a runner up, second place! Gusan was never a hwt in middle school state ,Gusan wrestled up giving up 60 some pounds!! Mifflins hwt beat him 4yrs ago!! So I say could be a great match hope he is eligible and ready to go.lowsingle174;647442 wrote:Mifflin brings in 4-5 legit shots at champs. They will surprise many. 80babyBriggs finished 11 at Amanda-Clearcreek yesterday with 4 place winners:
112 1st, 215 5th and 145 & 160 finished 7th. Good job in a very tough tournament only CCL school there. -
lowsingle174Westie, Grandview was down a little bit this year. Jones had 3 falls, and his closest match was against a kid from West Muskingum that he beat 14-2.
Nice Job Mifflin, good to see a lot of placers at a tough tournament. good to see that your big guy is in the mix. I can't wait to watch him wrestle. I dont know if you have wrestled the kid from Brookhaven at HWT, but he is pretty tough as well.
Nice job to Briggs as well.
