Fatmanroll>PetersonCity League is wide open this year. West, Centennial, and Marion Franklin are in the driver seat but in addition to them there are at least 8 teams that could be city champions this year.
-
lowsingle174Agree^^^^^
Things are wide open this year. One thing to remember or to take into perspective is that Mifflin is going to be tough. They may not have a great dual team, but they will score in tournaments. Same thing goes for Centennial and Ridge. they have guys that will be in the finals. The city tourney will be determined by advancement points to the finals. It should be pretty fun!
Just from my side of things:
*HWT will be one of the better weights at the city this year with many kids that have placed or won a tournament so far.
*135-140 has potential to be a great weight class based on where guys end up for the tournament and what coaches decide for kids at sectional time.
* Briggs has some tough kids this year, 112 especially. He could be meeting up with the kid from West that won the city last year at 103.
* 119 should be pretty tough with The returning champ from Northland and a few other tough kids.
* Grades and injuries will play a part in the Championship this year as they have every year. -
lowsingle174This is how I would rank things:
1. Centennial
2. West
3. Marion Franklin
4. Mifflin (If they get their HWT)
5. Brookhaven/South/Ridge -
Westie1011.Marion Franklin
2.West
3.Centennial
4.Brookhaven
5.Mifflin/Whetstone -

PaisanI wouldn't even try to speculate who is going to win the team title. I will say that it will be en exciting tournament. Dual wrestling and tournament wrestling are 2 different animals. Lowsingle is right, injury, eligibility, and heart will play a significant role as well as some good bracketing skills. I just hope all teams are healthy and in full strength for one hell of a good battle...good luck to all teams for the remainder of the year and we will see you all at South High in February.

Jajuan Ross (12) 125
Mifflin
Ezra Kinely (12) 215
Is Jajuan Ross from Independence wrestling this year? Sucks about Tourtit for Centennial. -
lowsingle174Ross has alegedly had trouble with Grades in the past, not sure if he is eligible or not. He is talented though and I hope he is eligible.
Centennial has a couple of guys that I think can score at districts. I also think that Walnut Ridge has more than 2 kids that can score on the district level as well.
I think Mifflin has 2 kids that can score on the district level in Kinely at 189 and the 140 lber.
Iagree with Paison. A dual meet team is completely different than a dual meet team. Whomever can put together the most solid team in February will have what it takes to win the tilte this year. -

You sure about that lowsingle? Good call =) -
lowsingle174NICE...
A dual meet team is completely different than a Tournament team. -
80babyI think who ever shows up ready to wrestle will win the title. With that being said I must give the edge to Marion Franklin, West and Brookhaven these 3 teams have won the title in the last 6 years also Centennial and Whetstone have been runner up during that time. Tradition has a lot to do with winning the title and kids from some programs step up and win matches they weren’t suppose to win to support their team. This could be one of the closes team races ever with multiple teams in the running. I wish every one the very best for the rest of the season.

Fatmanroll>Petersonany predictions on individual city champs?
Hendricks (Centennial) 130

Moore from Whetstone is tough as nails @ 125
The 112 From Briggs is VERY tough
Michael Patrick or Marion Franklin will be a front runner at 160
Mifflin's 140 lber will be in the mix
Mifflins HWT will be in the mix if Eligible
South's HWT will be in the mix.
South's 189 will be in the mix
Centennials 135 LBER is tough as hell
Centennial has a good 145 lber too.
Whetstone's 103 is tough and should be in the finals. -

powerdouble215 -My guess would be Hickey Marion Franklin over Morro at Briggs
285-Gusan for sure he has already beat Brown three times this season -
lowsingle174Morro of Briggs already pinned Hickey. I haven't seen Gusan Wrestle yet, but I know he works out with a Brown Bear and Grizzly Everyday. So my choice is with him. Especially with 3 quality wins over Brown already.
