2010-2011 Wayne County League and area Wrestling

  • 1_beast
Well folks...the season is just around the corner.....our last thread expired, so its time to start a new one. When we last talked, we were all in agreement (except Red Rum) that NWN is the front runner for the WCAL.

Now that we are closing in on the beginning of this years journey, how was everyones summer? Fall?

    Who's out there???

Much to talk about in Golden Bear Country........Like how we will compete after graduating our most successful class and losing our 103 to a job transfer.

As many as 8 freshman may be in the line-up......

Interesting things happen, and people sometimes are Blessed with success through hard work.

I'll let someone else in the know drop the bomb.....who's got the word on the HOT Topic????

We will be counting heavily on freshman and sophmores ;)
  • Red Rum
Don't get me wrong Beast, expecting big things from the Huskies, this should be the year the Blue & Gray break the Waynedale stranglehold on the title, BUT I have thought that before only to see the season lost to injury, dissappointment and just plain lack of a break. (kinda like the Bears 2010 football season).

Anyway, your exactly right about the Husky frontrunner status, The Bears are the Champs until someone takes it away. Do it Huskies!!!!!! then we can talk like frontrunners.

So when are the Nelson boys moveing to Waynedale Country. Thats the new talk going around. Is this true?
  • Red Rum
Ya gotta be kidding...the terror twins at Waynedale???

If true, that would really make Waynedale a favorite to win a 5th consecutive crown. The rich only get richer.

on a side note- I've been doing a little weekend bike riding on the Holmes county trail (Fredricksburg to Killbuck)about 15 miles one way. Great training tool, I wish the Northwestern district had something like that. Anybody who lives down that way should check it out. very cool.

Thats a FACT!!!! Start classes tomorrow, definately an assett...like I said in my previous post..."We will be counting HEAVILY on freshman and sophmores"

what a blessing...in a rebuild year...we get to reload...hope it pans out for us.

On a side note...the trail in Fredericksburg is Great Red Rum!!! I use it frequently...keeps the buggy off the roads! ;)

Do not know who Smithies new coach is yet, Thad Unkefer probably has the best shot at the job right now, will know by 22nd. Should be at least good enough this year to not be basement dwellers. Kelbley's knee injury does not look real bad, but will probably miss first part of season.
  • 1_beast
Thad is a good fit. He has a passion for the sport and had success himself. Still hard to see him in green and white...lol..

Good to hear Kelby isnt too bad....hope he heals up fine and has a good year, seems like a nice enough kid.
  • zoocrew
Dalton didnt have any more kids Waynedale want so they had to go little more to the east this time.
  • 1_beast
Zoo....Dalton got the Martells from Waynedale...The Halls from Waynedale...then theyy went to Tuslaw....Rabers went from Waynedale to Triway.....Berry's went from Waynedale to Northwestern......WOW!!!! Bears have sent some good kids to other programs!!!

We aren't picky either.....if someone wants a great education and decides to join our wrestling team....kudos to the parents for the wise decision. Southeast offers great education opportunities.

Yes we are at Waynedale. I have watched you crazy Wayne county league fans for years and have always admired your enthusiasm and passion. We love our sectional and district. We have been training with Waynedale kids for years and have always seen them at the open mats we go to. We have watched Waynedale kids come to our Team Nelson camps and give up their summers. Could never get anyone to train in the off season at our home school. Nothing wrong with that but it can be lonely and was. This team is going to be tough. Top 5 this year and watch out next year .... all things are possible and I believe something special is going to happen. The Sea of Gold fans are crazy. I like that! We squeaked out a sectional championship last year against Waynedale and we were not nearly as good as a team. We only won 2 matches in the dual and lost by more than 35 points. Good luck to all teams in Wayne county this year ! Can't wait for the season to start.... Let the wild ruckus begin!!!!!!!!

Congrats to the Bears on the Nelson coup...They would have looked good in Blue & Gray (not to mention the great academic standard at Northwestern, 2nd to none in Wayne County) but still happy to see more quality grapplers flowing into the WCAL.

Now that official word has come down from falcon81, anybody (BEAST) want to back track on NWN as the 2010/11 favorite. (Nelson Bros probably equal about, what... 40 some points by themselves) The sandbagging never stops!!!!!!!

Whats the line up looking like down in apple creek? A rough guess-ta-ment of the starting order anyway?

I would love to get the same thing from any Huskies in the know. Same with the rest of the league. It's time to start looking at interesting possible matchups this year. This latest bombshell changes everything. It's gonna be interesting.
  • 1_beast
Hey Red Rum...i resent the "sandbagging" comments ;)...without the Nelsons...we were hurting and NWN was/is the front runners. We are still very young...counting on freshman and sophmores to contribute immensely

Thanks for the welcome and yes we have great respect for Northwestern School district! We look forward to the great rivalries and high spirited competition. It will be nice to have fans! LOL!
Zack is certifying 119 and Zane 140 but I don't know if they can maintain that at end of season. I can't wait to become more familiar with the Waynedale line up and kids. The lower thru the middle weights should be a hammer line uo.
  • zoocrew
What wieeght is litte beast looking to wrestle? If smaller Nelson goes 119 where is Harder going to go
  • 1_beast
To be honest...I dont wanna sandbag anyone.....so, i guess in keeping with tradition....we will start the season, continue to workout (we do lift as well)...and see where everyone fits in.

Im looking forward to the Bears getting a "W" Friday night!!!!

I'm also looking forward to The Daily Record Winter Preview...so we have an idea whos where!

I will say lil Beast grew about 6" and 30lbs since jan/feb.....but at this point, we are still growing and working on getting better. Not reallly worried about what weight we are gonna be,,,,,just yet.

and EVERYONE knows...lol, the Brown and Gold lineup is usually NOT available until our first competition....things change. If i would of given you a line-up last week....all of a sudden....this week it changed already!!! Therefore you all would be callin me a sandbagger.....AGAIN!!! Lol
  • falcon81
I like it ! Top secret line uo .. tight lipped!! I'am a x submariner , run silent, run deep!! I will follow your lead and advice Beast!! Waynedale is a quiet and mysterious operation.... Very nice.. Well done..
  • Coach54
Falcon n Beast, Nice weather we have been having.
  • 1_beast
Falcons...lol I like it that you will follow my lead...but hey...I'll follow yours as well....i just thought of something, EVERYONE is always curious about Waynedales "secret jello recipe"...Now you get to be in on it!!! Some think its in the water...some think its in the jello....some think its from the Amish kitchens.....but we Bears KNOW......IT'S IN THE HEART!!!!!!!!!!

I need to get you a Bears Shirt...hat...something.....err maybe you should get it ;)
  • Red Rum
The Brown & Gold (or Poop & Pee, if your a Husky fan) may be playin' it close to the vest, But NWN has nothin to hide, the team will be lead by an unknown named Schaefer. A couple of fellas with names like Fortune, Heshey & Topp will hopefully win a match or two. If the gods of destiny happen to smile down on us, we'll get a breakout season from 2 or 3 others maybe even a freshman.

You guys may want to keep secrets and exchange messages on your secret decoder rings.......but I will tell you right now....
    1. The Huskies WILL finish top 7 in the WCAL tourney!!!!
    2. We will cheat a couple of guys out of sectionals (easy to do since we host)
    3. Red Rum & Mr Miyagi have the concession contract for the sectional tournament
    4. A special sauce for Beast will be in the Broccoli soup.
    5. NWN has hired a certain lady from Sandusky St Marys to patrol in front of the Sea of Gold section.

  • Mr Miyagi

  • Bloody Toothbrush
Wrastlin' huh.....Are you guys allowed to wear capes and do steel cage matches?
Watching guys roll around in spandex really ain't my cup of tea...........so I'll leave you Miyagi types to it.
