Ozzie
Whitey Herzog was the manager?
Yep....Cardinals had a top fireman, as did the Brewers
No idea on the other Brewers.

So we have
Brewers: Fingers (injured in late season), Yount, Molitor
Cards: Ozzie and Herzog
Need 2 more Brewers and 1 more Card

Sutter yes
Got all Cards...need a starting pitcher and battery mate for Brewers
Sutton
posted by O-TrapOf my lifetime, probably mine too. Hit for power and average, hardly ever struck out, didn't wear batting gloves, and practically bathed his bat and helmet in pine tar.
posted by Ironman92Question #39
This team of the early 80’s had 5 future HOFers making up a big part of their team....they lost in the World Series to a team with 2 HOFers....name the teams and 7 HOFers....early 80’s
Extra credit....one of these HOFers were injured late in the season and could’ve changed the WS outcome
I'm guessing the '81 series, Dodgers over Yankees. I couldn't name all the HOFers, though.
Nope, doesn’t fit the criteria
Simmons? On either team? Lol. Played a bunch for both, no clue what years.

Yes...now we need his battery mate

Ok yeah. See last post. Has to be Simmons.

Yep, former Cards star and Cards traded and picked up Darrel Porter who fans hated...until he became WS MVP. Cards also had 283 win Jim Katt and former MVP Keith Hernandez
Fingers won Cy in 81 and was killing it in 82 but tore muscle in late August and badly weakened their bullpen.
1st WS I watched

Yeah, he was just voted in like last year, wasn't he?

2020 by Veterans committee. Only reason I knew of him, tbh. Saw a Tweet about him and hits as a catcher. Forget how high he is on list, but 2400 has to be close to top 3.
I'm not familiar with him, really. I've heard the name, but didn't realize he was in the HOF.
Question #40:
This NON-Hall of Famer hit 35+ HRs in seven different seasons, topping 40 HRs five of those seasons.
He finished his 17-year career with a batting average between .290 and .300, over 400 HRs, six Silver Slugger awards, and two MVP awards. He is top-20 all-time in career slugging percentage.
Gotta be a 'roider to fall off that quick.

I wasn't even familiar with the name, but I remembered it from hearing about the ceremony. I thought it was last year, but apparently not.
Albert Belle
Juan Gonzalez
Manny Ramirez
I know it's not Sosa or McGwire given the AVG requirement.

Yeah....going back through all my cards looking for my cards of him....and those I overlooked 1st time through
Palmeiro if not one of the earlier mentions
