I think you just want it to be Mayfield... I can’t think of a way it’s not Darnold.

He does, and for the life of me I don't know why...it'll be Darnold, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they end up trading down...we'll know soon enough.

From 1?  Not a chance.  I can see it from 4 though.

No way we trade down from 1. Dorsey isn't that stupid.

BTW, Josh Allen has had some problematic tweets being revived from his HS days.  I'm not a fan of people doing that, but I am ok with it if it means it turns the Browns off lol.

I'm not going to lie that I like Mayfield and he'd be my preferred choice but I don't think he'd be the pick because I want them to draft him. Just been a ton of last minute buzz plus a tweet that went out from one of their front office guys yesterday who is pro-Mayfield.

I'm no Allen fan but these tweets were supposedly from when he was 13 years old. Don't know about you but I don't know many 13 year old's who haven't said a lot of stupid stuff.

I don't think he meant from 1. I think he was referring to my comment about dropping down from 4.

1. The media is trash for waiting until the day before/of the draft to release tweets that they've known about for weeks/months.

2. He needs to fire his agent immediately. There is absolutely no excuse for not scouring his entire social media history and purging any potentially problematic content.

3. I'm really glad I grew up before the days of social media.

Yea, this is a non story for me. Kids are kids. I did read where someone mentioned athletes should just create a new twitter name and delete all of their old stuff while in college.

Anyone with at least half a brain shouldn't care that a 13 year old said stupid stuff on twitter, sure.

Also, as mentioned, have this sick feeling in my gut, that Chubb is going to be sitting there at 4 and they are going to trade down.

I’m still holding out hope it’s going to be Rosen lol I would definitely be ok with mayfield or darnold though. As long as it’s not Allen. As for the 4th pick I think it all depends on what the giants do. If they go QB I think we stay at 4 if they don’t I think we trade 4 for an absolute haul to someone. There would be so many teams trying to get that 4th pick at that point it would be stupid not to trade it.

Hue learns the draft board, leaks start to come out.

Maybe Dorsey just lies to Hue and said Mayfield

I agree but man Chubb would look awesome paired with Garrett. They have other areas of need but it would kind of be a little deflating if they traded down to Buffalo at 12 and took an O-Lineman (McGlinchey) or CB (Ward). I know, they need a LT but there are only about 6-7 guys in this draft that are considered elite talents. Would love to have three 1st's this year and two 1st's next year (via Buffalo-one 1st in 2019) but also want that impact talent now.

Yeah, I meant that in the sense I am not a fan of people digging up old ass tweets/posts of teenagers.

I still have some posts that come up from when I was a freshman in college and delete very quickly lol.  I pray nobody ever gets a hold of my fraternity's listserv...

Probably not.  Incognito has dropped the N bomb numerous times and his teammates love him.

I would be pissed,  but that wouldn't make me sick.  Picking Barkley over Chubb would make me sick.

If we trade raped down and got McGlinchey I could live with that.  Not my first choice though.

My prime suspect in the Allen thing is Elway.

I'd love it if Elway were in love with Allen and would trade up to 4 with Chubb still on the board (assuming the Browns would take him).

@AdamSchefter

Browns continue to keep the decision on their No. 1 pick a secret, but there is a mounting belief from HCs and GMs around the league that Cleveland will take Baker Mayfield.

That’s just people guessing what Dorsey is gonna do. Just rumors at this point. No one knows what he’s going to do tonight. Those types are rumors are just going to get louder today.

If he loves Allen, he has no need to move up

Is there anything stopping the Browns from announcing their pick right now?

I feel like there is now a rule against it, but I could be wrong.  I remember the Texans announced they signed Mario Williams the day before the draft.

The 17 TV networks broadcasting the draft wouldn't be too happy about announcing the pick in advance.
