Or do we prefer one of the Georgia RBs?

After sleeping on it, even though I was initially (very) upset at the QB pick, I've gotten over it and am all in on the Browns' decision. I also really like their Ward pick (yeah, I bleed Scarlet and Gray, so how could I not), as I trust Dorsey and his minions did their homework and felt a lockdown corner was more of a need than another edge rusher. I feel pretty good about this draft so far, and can't wait to see what tonight brings.

Yeah, this would be sweet.
So many people losing their shit over these picks. Considering that none of us are NFL GM's and the Browns have one of the best front offices in the NFL between Dorsey, Highsmith & Wolf, I'll hold judgment until I see how these guys perform on the field. Wasn't thrilled with the Ward selection, as I wanted Chubb but maybe Dorsey thinks they're good on the D-Line?
I'm happy with the Mayfield pick because I can see the bigger picture of what they plan on doing with him. Dorsey is a proponent of the WCO and one of Mayfield's is moving around in the pocket/rolling out. I'm excited to see what Haley will do with him.
My biggest concern with Mayfield over Darnold is that I would've been about 95% sure that Darnold would've sat the whole year. I have a feeling Mayfield is going to play because him & Rosen are the most ready to hit the field.
I was just about to ask what they were going to do with Baker/Taylor. I still want Baker to sit and hopefully Taylor can have a decent enough season to get us to 6-8 wins so Baker can sit the entire season. But Baker is older and seems to be more NFL ready, so who knows.
I keep thinking that everyone who is hating on these Browns picks are the same ones who cheered like crazy when they drafted Manziel. No one knows who's going to pan out and who's not. Why get all up in arms when you have no clue how Baker is going to do? And who could possibly be mad about drafting a potential lockdown corner? How valuable in today's pass peavy NFL is a lockdown corner? I mean wtf people.

I saw a guy that I used to work with, in full melt mode, posting on FB about how "the whole league was laughing at us." No, mostly just hilljack local Steeler fans in my town, not realizing they passed on a better safety (from Alabama) than the guy they took.
I was just pissed with the Ward pick when it happened because we've been talking about Chubb for so long that it was just expected. When they went Ward I think a lot of the fan reaction was "shit, they didn't take MY guy!!! They suck!" (same reaction with the QB) when we really will have no idea on these guys for a few years. Dorsey, Highsmith & Wolf have too much of a track record to have suddenly forgot how to evaluate talent just because they came to Cleveland.
BTW...Fuck Jimmy Kimmel and his studio audience!
Gotta think that Dorsey was a part of this. Probably made it seem like the Browns really really liked Chubb, so that everyone would assume they'd take him. But all along he wanted the lockdown corner and was satisfied with Ogbah, Garrett and the rest of the D-lineman.

I’m more calmed down with the picks too. QB I’m fine w bc Dorsey knows what he’s doing there more than me. Ward I thought was a reach but have heard he would have went at 5 otherwise, so trade down wouldn’t have worked. We obviously need cb so, I get it.
Would love Guice tonight and Landry if his injury concerns are cleared.

I really do love the story on baker though. Walks on at Texas tech wins big 12 freshman of the year asks for a scholarship they won’t give it to him so he says screw you goes to ohklahoma with out even telling anyone and beats out Trevor Knight and then wins the heisman. Just crazy. As much as everyone bitches about height. 3 our of the top 5 qb’s in the NFL are under 6’2. Rodgers is only 6’1 brees is barely 6’ and russel Wilson is 5’11. I’m not too worried about it

I wasn't a fan of our first round, but I can also tolerate it and obviously hope it works out. There were only a few picks that would have made me legitimately irate (like t-rich and weeden irate). Per usual, I will have a wait and see approach and by that I won't give up on a player after half of his rookie season like some do on here (especially for first rounders). There are only a few picks every draft where I wouldn't give the players a chance and it has to be blatantly obvious it was a terrible pick (i.e.Weeden).
Dorsey doesn't seem to pick RBs in the 2nd rd, but I would pretty happy with Landry & Guice to start off the night. You could also talk me into Landry & best lineman available. It looks like a lot of linemen with first round grades are available. Maybe if we do that, Chubb will fall to the last pick of the 2nd round...

If Baker wins for us, we will love all of us antics. Just like we would have loved Manziel's antics. I do like Baker's attitude, I just hope he produces. If he produces, by all means please grab your crotch directed at Steelers fans and plant a Browns flag in Baltimore. I'd run on the field and join him if I could.
btw, when I say I can tolerate the picks, I actually like Ward. I just thought the obvious choice was Chubb. I'm a firm believer that (to take COA analogy) pass rush is like pitching. You can never have enough. It's the way the NFL has been going for the past 10 years now and a lot of teams that have won/competed for a SB have followed this blueprint. That's why the Broncos drafted Chubb when they need a QB. Maybe the Browns have Landry graded slightly similar to Chubb?

If they take Landry I would not care one bit they didn’t pick Chubb. I’d take Ward + Landry over Chubb and another corner.

Also, fuck this "I trust Dorsey" bullshit. I will give him time to make his impact, but I am done "trusting" gms. How many times have we said that about our FO and it turns out to be terrible? Almost every time, except Lombardi.

He has a solid track record, and has given us zero reason not to trust him. At this point, I’m a fan of Dorsey.

I don't give a shit. I will let them do their thing, but I won't trust a GM until we see some positive results.

Guice or Chubb at RB...make sure you get one of them....trade up from 64 if needed to hit a target and give up late round picks

Interview with the Jets HC sounds pretty clear that Mayfield was their #1 target and they got their #2 guy.
Summarize for us.
