If they take Chubb they will lose him or Garrett in 4-5 years once rookie contracts are up.  No one is investing that much salary into one position on D.  No different than Barkley only being worth 5 years max as a RB.

Don't agree with this at all. Also, you're assuming that both turn out to be Mack/Miller. Look at the Texans with Watt, Clowney, Mercilus. Or the Chargers with Bosa, Ingram. You need solid rushers. If anything it lets Ogbah hit the open market.

I don’t keep up with this thread but just stopping in to say no way they take Baker Mayfield #1 and this is ESPN’s big thing right now.

If they do, God help us...God help us all

They went 3-11 in 2016 with the best defense?  GTFO with that claim.  What changed from 2016 to 2017 on D?

Was this a serious post?

#1 they were a top 10 D in 2016 in yardage and points allowed despite Bortles being hot garbage and fucking them over repeatedly

#2 2017 was their 2nd year with Todd Wash as D coordinator so more familiar with the system

#3 they signed Bouye (pro bowl), Campbell (pro bowl), and Church

#4 Ramsey (pro bowl), Ngakoue (pro bowl), Jack, and Fowler no longer rookies and all had 2nd year jumps

I guess you could argue Minnesota, but the Jags were at worst the #2 D in the league last year

Listening to Rosen about always being the second guy makes me want him even more.

even the local guy agrees...

I think it's a given they have to take the QB at 1 to make sure they don't miss out on their guy.

Heard a couple of national guys talking about the QB's yesterday within a 2 hour period and they were polar opposites. One said Darnold is "head and shoulders" above the others and should be the pick. He said all of the others have major weaknesses, which I disagree with.

The other said that Darnold is the worst of the bunch (also disagree with but wouldn't be my top choice) and would be his 5th QB taken. Interesting how there's no consensus/must have #1 guy. This individual also said that his sources around the league aren't overly impressed with Darnold.

Can tomorrow night just get here so all of this bullshit will be over?

At this point, #4 and trade scenarios is what I am most interested in. I'll gladly take Chubb or another player there, but I really hope someone needs a qb and overpays.

I could see Buffalo making a push with all of their draft capital.

Dream scenario is the Broncos trade up to  4 to prevent another team from trading up for their QB.  Imagine getting a first round pick AND still getting Chubb. I am hoping that's why we have seen all of this smokescreen bullshit coming from Cleveland to increase the value of some of these QBs.

If Chubb is there, I turn in the card. If he's gone and Barkley's the BPA, I'm looking for a trade down. Even if it's to Buffalo at 12. They can get JT's replacement (McGlinchey) at that spot, add another 1st and hopefully get a 1st next year.

For those of you who like Guice, might want to forget about him. He’s apparently rubbing teams the wrong way and a lot of GMs have taken him off their draft board.

I could potentially live with this.  I still want to trade down one spot and still get Chubb lol.

When has that ever gone wrong for the Browns?  What's the issue with him?

How about that dumbass WR from (I believe) Florida who got caught smoking weed at the Combine? Don't know if even Gordon is THAT dumb.

Tested positive (diluted sample)...not caught smoking.

It's time for the NFL to give up on punishing players for smoking weed.  Some players have been on record saying easily 80% of the league smokes weed.   A buddy of mine hung out with Gronk (his college buddy is a long time childhood friend of Gronk)  when he lived in Boston.  He said Gronk and Edelman would hot box their sauna all of the time.  /coolstory

It just shows 1. anyone who gets cut is a dumbass and 2. it's pretty well known that most players smoke weed.

Ha, if you look at the draft guide a scout literally said "He'll fail at least one drug test in the NFL...put that in your guide".  Apparently kid has always been a pos.

BTW if anyone wants it send me your email and I'll send it out.

I have seen some of the same rumors, but dang I like him.  I'd also like Chubb a little later too though.

Did you see that recent article where the ball grabbing POS Shaun Smith said he smoked 2 blunts before every game?

The way they talked about him this morning, it sounded like it was a third failed test, to go along with a bunch of other issues he's had.

Not sure specifics, mcshay is the one saying it. Basically that teams didn’t like his interviews and took him off their draft board.

Now that I’m looking around, I don’t see a lot of other people saying it so who knows lol

I saw something about a week ago regarding an issue with Guice but didn't open the article. This may be it...
