Probably correct. I've heard the Jets really like Mayfield. He's probably the most ready to play from day 1. Rosen would likely be next. Darnold is going to need to sit & learn and Allen is a major project, imo.

Since we have Tyrod, this doesn't bug me.  Tyrod was very professional when he was benched for Peterman apparently.  He did everything he could to help him for that game.

I'm OK if it is Darnold sitting. Not ok if it is Allen at 1, which isn't going to happen anyway

I don't know why you like Mayfield so much, but I sure as hell hope the Browns don't take him--I think he's going to be a bust

That's rich coming from you.

In all seriousness, what are your points of contention with Mayfield?

Well, well, well....he's short! That is all...

Because I think he could play from day 1 and regardless of his height, I think he's going to be real good.

Yeah, he had a run in when he was very young and my biggest concern with that was that he actually got chased down, and caught, by the cop (someone sign that cop to be a LBer).

Other than that...accuracy? Check. Leadership? Check. Can make all the throws (also throws a good deep ball)? Check. Busts his ass and is a hard worker? Check. Has a "I'll prove you wrong" chip on his shoulder? Check.

The Manziel comparisons are pretty much bullshit. Excpet for the height and the little "run in", he's the anti-JFF. Only thing that pisses me off about him is that he already has his own reality show which kind of stinks of a Johnny-like move.

I know a lot people don't like him because the Buckeye "homers" are pissed he planted a flag in their field. Don't want him to do that? BEAT HIM.

I personally think he's the best of these dog turd sandwich QB's. Rosen is the "prototype" but I question his dedication to the game and he's had a few head injuries. Darnold, I think, is going to be a "steady" guy but nothing spectacular and Allen is Kizer part 2.

Not that he's any QB "guru" but 92.3 had Ron Jaworski on Friday and he absolutely loves Mayfield. Keep hearing the same thing over & over...."if he were 2" taller he'd be the no brainer....turn in the card."

I'm not getting into the Drew Brees/Russell Wilson BS comparisons, because every QB is different, but a big reason that these shorter QB's don't get a chance is because of the stigma of their height so they are passed on in the draft. I don't know if I'd be comfortable with a Doug Flutie height (5'10") but 6'1" (Mayfield's height) shouldn't be a huge issue.

So lets say QBs go 1-2-3 and no one wants to trade up for Allen.  Between Chubb, Barkley, Fitzpatrick; which one do you draft?  Or do you go with best OT or Ward?

I’m still sticking with Rosen or Darnold at 1, BPA available at 4. I’d be okay with a trade down as long as it’s only a couple spots, but would much prefer taking Chubb or Minkah at 4.

Chubb @ 4, no matter what.

I think they'll take Chubb, I'd want Chubb or Fitz if it were up to me. I'd also be willing to trade down slightly. I would trade with Buffalo ONLY if we get both firsts this year and the first next year. Then I would take Ward if he was still there.

I think #1 will be Darnold or Mayfield. 100% will be a qb

Anyone listen to Joe's speech today? Was pretty funny making fun of some of the old coaches and players (not in a mean way, but humorous)

Belichick put him through a work out at NC State's prod day and told him after "we are picking 31st; no chance we see you.  Good luck."

Draft Chubb, I am sold.

How would everyone feel about Nelson at 4 with joe retiring? I feel like you couldn’t go wrong with Nelson, Chubb, Fitzpatrick or ward at 4

Don’t think he can play tackle, and not sure Bitonio is up to moving out there if they get Nelson. He’s legit though.

He has the length and size to play LT. either way he is an absolutely stud and the best player in the draft. It would be hard to pass him up but I would be beyond happy with Chubb or Fitzpatrick too

Best press conference I've ever heard. You hear the term "he/she won the press conference?" JT destroyed it. Dude is so smooth in front of a mic.

What cracked me up was that 92.3 was interviewing some of his old coaches/teammates and his old college coach, Barry Alvarez was on. Alvarez tells this story about how JT had two teammates that he shared a place with. After Joe got drafted and got his big payday, he calls these roommates back hounding them for rent they owed.

As far as the question posed, since my dream scenario was Cousins in FA, Chubb/Fitzpatrick at 1 & 4, I'd stick with Chubb.

I think the NYG's will go QB but I don't think Chubb would be out of the question for them at 2. They have a history of doing that. Even when they were DE "rich" with Osi & Strahan they still surprised everyone and drafted JPP. Can never have enough good pass rushers.

Bills have inquired about trading up to #1. Thank god they didn't do it.

Interesting.....former NFL QB Chris Simms has a podcast and he questions whether Sam Darnold going #1 overall is a "media creation" because none of Simms' contacts across the NFL have him rated that high.

I still think the pick is going to be Rosen.

I'm actually thinking it will be Mayfield
