I liked going for it on 4th. But the play call was bad. The spot was also horrendous. If it wasn’t a first, it was a foot short, tops. Needing an entire yard was bullshit.

Yeah, I didn't understand why the spot wasn't at least moved closer to the line to gain. They didn't have to give him a first down, but the replay clearly showed the spot on the field was wrong.

Also, Peppers has been a liability more often than not, but tonight he played great. Good team win, all around. It's nice going into Sunday without any pressure so you can just root hard against the Steelers and the Ravens.

I wonder what Peppers would look like as a LBer.

WHy not kick a FG and force them to score a TD????

Thank you, and Robinson is let off the hook (especially with that moronic time out)....nice W, and Mayfield’s a stud. Hope next Sunday’s game is a sellout.

I think the Cincy/Cleveland game will be a hated bloodbath of sorts and someone on Cincy really pisses off the Browns and their fan base big time...then 7 days later they’ll b their biggest fans and also Steelers will be pulling for the Browns the same way

IIRC the ball can only be moved if they move it past the line to gain since that is the reason for challenge/replay.

The spot can not be challenged, only if the first down was/was not achieved.

I could be wrong and thinking of college.

Nah. If you have the opportunity to make teams score a TD under 2 min you take it. It’s exponentially harder to score a td than a fg. The risk reward for running it on 4th down is not nearly good enough. You can say you like Williams guts or fire or attitude or whatever. But it’s a dumb coaching decision.

I simply look at it as the NFL nowadays. 2 minutes is a long time. I’d prefer not to give the ball back versus anything in 2018.

Yeah, especially wirh no timeouts. In the NFL it’s almost impossible to score a TD without being able to stop the clock under 2 min. Defenses can just play to keep you in bounds and nothing over the top. Peppers and the D bailed Williams out on that final drive.

Speaking of the defense, I saw a few posts bashing the defense and Gregg Williams last night. We’re we watching the same game?! The defense was incredible last night.

The secondary got picked apart by Case Keenum. You said it yourself during the game. The run D was exceptional but no excuse for letting Keenum do that. Saving grace, for the Browns, was that Vance Joseph didn't have a sack and settled for a FG on that last drive. He's getting beat up by the Denver media.

This game will be tougher than many think and it wouldn't shock me if the Bengals pulled this out. Regardless of how bad either team is, they still seem to split, when the Browns aren't getting swept. I still expect a win but not the dominance we saw a few weeks ago.

And fwiw, Gregg Williams passed Hue Jackson on the Browns all time wins list lol.

Also another thing on Williams, when he called that timeout, my understanding is that the call was a QB sneak, with the QB trying to draw the defense offsides. Williams saw the defenders were in gaps that would've possibly prevented the 1st down. Calling the TO shows that GW doesn't trust Mayfield. That's the QB's call to read that and call TO himself.

They gave up 16 points. I'm not going to bash the defense ever when they give up 16 points.

I said Keenum was picking us apart on one drive early in the 1st half. That's not saying the defense didn't play well. Good try though

Keenum led two long drives in the late first/mid 2nd qtr. the first one was good plays and good passes for Keenum and went for a TD....the next drive they did much of the same but Browns were more bend but not break.

Both defenses were very good

Titans up 7 and Colts up 20. If both those teams win, the Browns will be eliminated from wild card contention.

Baltimore winning as well.  If everything holds serve right now, we would need to win out, Pitt and Baltimore would have to lose out to win division.

looking that far out....we would play 5 seed which will be loser of AFC west between chargers and chiefs

Not that it's going to happen, but I think we would still get wild card if dolphins lose 1, titans and colts lose next week and tie each other in week 17, and either Steelers or Ravens lose out.

Just win the division

With the Pitt win we have been eliminated from winning the division.

Technically, they are still alive for the wild card but it's the most impossible of possible. Think the Titans & Colts have to lose next week, then tie each other in the final week with the Browns winning out.

I know...that's why I just said the division

in addition to what you state, the Dolphins would have the lose one of their final two games.

Tell me no one on here doesn’t mind if they don’t win the last two so they can get slightly better draft position and the 4th place schedule next year
