In good news, it's been announced that Lamar Jackson will be the new Madden cover guy.

Yeah, had to chuckle last night when I saw that!

I had the Browns neck and neck with the Ratbirds this year and I think this pushes Clev over the top now!

Nah...Browns should finish 3rd in the division but the Bengals have been pretty aggressive in FA. Even without TheRapist Pittsburgh's a .500 team, which should be good enough to make the playoffs, with this new format. Best I'm hoping for is 8-8 out of the Browns but it will probably be worse. I do expect Mayfield to bounce back in this new system.

4 way tie at 8-8?

When BR weighs in at training camp they move him to NT! Need a large, immovable object at that spot in a 3-4!

I still think they will bring in Jameis as their backup. If his ego allows him to sit, and he'll take less money, it's the perfect position for him.

I am not against it but for what he would have to sign for, I just dont think he will lower himself to that amount.

Goodell is looking pretty good in all of this draft process.  Saw his comments today and he is dead on.  I know some teams wanted to push the draft back, but that was just so they could continue to poke and prod at these guys.

There is no reason to NOT proceed and I am glad he kept on it.  Wasnt like they could push it back a little bit and still hold the event with the crowd in Vegas. Once it was realized that was not a possibility for a long time it was the right call to do it this way.

We shall see what sort of sense of humor he has.  Will he pipe in some boo's, or make a comment about it? That would be legit!

Goodell should do the draft in his bath robe, slippers and use the wall clock behind him, in his house, for when teams are "on the clock" considering our current situation.

Bengals are releasing Andy Dalton. Always thought New England would be a good fit.

If this is true, it's GREAT news...

Colin Dunlap@colin_dunlap

What I heard from Kevin Colbert today in our interview it is obvious the decision-makers of the Pittsburgh Steelers view Mason Rudolph as heir to the Ben Roethlisberger throne.

Yawn. I can’t see Steelers winning next two SB with Roethlisberger....then he retires and Steelers being satisfied with Rudolph

I was going to ask if BR is a Steeler hater.  Rudolph is hot garbage.  But what else is Kevin Colbert going to say when you ask that question?

Obviously Rudolph IS the heir apparent....until some better becomes an option.  They supposedly offered Winston more money than he got in NO, so that would indicate they aren't even happy with Rudolph as their #2.

I’m good with Rudolph being a 3rd string....though he’s got that look that people wanna punch. I’m ok with him being 3rd team QB for Ravens

Anyone catch the E60 on Alex Smith? Holy shit, his leg injury was insane. There is a picture showing him missing 50% of his leg. Click for picture at your own risk: https://dailysnark.com/alex-smiths-leg-week-after-injury-was-basically-a-bone-with-some-veins-attached-to-it/

I didn't watch it, but I saw the preview. I had no idea how bad it was.  Crazy that he wants to play again.  You can't complain about pro athletes trying to get paid after looking at those photos.

What a weird signing.

A lot of people were hoping PIT would grab him.  Or that possibly NE would give him a shot to start.

I can't imagine Dak turns down their offer, or that there's a realistic scenario they sour on him this season.  But if for some reason they can't sign him, Dalton could be insurance in case they don't want to franchise Dak a 2nd time in 2021 for $37M.

I was hoping the Stillers would sign him.
Read this morning that the Trib was reporting the steelers offered him a better deal than Dallas, but he decided on wanting to return to Texas.

Hmmmm.....why do guys keep taking less money to go somewhere else?

It's pretty crazy that teams already paying their QB over $32M per year are going out and spending $4M+ on a backup.  On the other hand, all have high expectations for this year.  And if PIT had a halfway decent backup last year they would have made the playoffs.

Well Dalton is from there and said to already have a house there. Plus, likely grew up a Cowboys fan.   Also, you can bet during the talks it was brought up that Rain hasnt signed his deal yet.......

Understand your comment on payhing a backup 4 mil but its a high priced insurance policy for teams who expect to contend.

Do the Saints win all five if they didnt have Bridgewater last year?   Steelers have a Dalton and they make the playoffs easily last year.

Also see the plans for the Dolphins to allow fans in?

15K in the 65K stadium.

Certain times/gates to enter, and orderly Church-like exits?

Been to nearly 50 NFL games and not quite sure how that is going to work out for them, unless they ban alcohol from tailgating........

That's interesting.  15k out 65k doesn't really sound like 6 feet of space around every seat.

Eh, I bet it is, or at least extremely close.
