No talk yet but here’s a place for it.
The 30 for 30 for Mike Vick.....really enjoyed part 1. Very detailed and well done.

Question...I saw the Jets signed WR Josh Doctson today and the Lions resigned Amendola as well (I think.) Free agency doesn’t officially start until next month how are they doing this now?

If a player is released (see Doctson) they can sign immediately. If they are coming off an expiring contract they have to wait for FA (March 18th, although there is technically a two day tampering period prior to this).
New CBA details are leaking out. The owners are trying to move towards a 7-team playoff format, with only the 1st seed getting a bye. Also looking to expand to 17 games and cut preseason to 3 games.
I don't like it.

I'd be fine with 17 games but they'd have to throw in a 2nd bye. The 7 team playoff format I'm "meh" on. Last year, the 7th seed in the AFC would've been Pittsburgh, which would've faced KC in the opening round. Not exactly a solid matchup with Duck/Racist at QB for Pittsburgh.
17 games is bad. Playoff changes are bad. But, in time I would get used to it...they aren't crazy enough to get worked up over.
I think they need to add a 2nd bye before the TNF game. But, with this schedule, they absolutely need a 2nd bye.

They can really screw teams with those London games, and also the Thurs night games (like you mentioned).
Thought I saw JAX(?) will play two games in London next year. I guess they figure JAX kind of sucks, and no one goes to their games, anyway.
Anyone remember the last time they had 2 bye weeks? Think it only lasted one year as many didnt like it but I think with games in london, and adding a game then yeah, two is probably a good compromise, plus it is an extra week of games on TV.
I concur if they can work it out a bye before your TNF game is a good idea.
The new CBA proposal does add more roster spots, and upped $$ for the low end of the league of which most players are currently at.
Believe also adds another active guy on game days.
Some mentioned why dont you ahve the full roster active every game. I had wondered that but came to the conclusion that the league wants every team to have the same amount of players for both teams every game. Each week a few guys are hurt so they are inactive so if the full 53 is eligible, some teams may only have 48, 49 or so. I would be OK with bumping it up to having 48 active on game day.
Sounds like a lot of the talk coming from the Combine is that Tom Brady/agent are talking with the Chargers, Raiders & Colts.
He'll be a Raider.

Yeah, but Antonio Brown said Tom is his QB.....soooooo, no to OAK then :)

I'm trying to figure out how the players haven't demanded a max salary in the new CBA. You've got 5-10 QB's making almost twice what any other player makes. That would mean a good chunk of money for the next 10 guys or so on the roster.
Meanwhile, most of the league will never see a second contract, and they settle for whatever scraps get thrown to them (not that a rookie min of like $430k is anything to sneeze at). If you took $10M from that QB, he's still the highest paid on the team but you could probably raise the min salary to almost $1M.

That would be a good idea, and I think it would pass if it made it to a vote but I HIGHLY doubt they would even allow that to come to a vote!
After this last SB they had a stat about the last 15 SBs I think, only once was there a player in the top 10 in cap hit that season and still won a SB, and taht was Manning in Denver and he was bad that season.
One of the reasons why NE has been so successful is that TB12 has never broken the bank to screw the team.

Very Bernie Sanders'ish of you :)

I know you're joking, but I'm just pointing out how the NFLPA is supposedly a union, yet it acts nothing like a union.

i know.. it just sounds like a talking point Bernie has.
If anyone gets a chance to hear the interview with Gronk about the time he received an unidentified (number) call from Roger Goodell, it's a must listen. Dude is in another world. Was lmao.

Makes no sense, except — Bill O’Brien.
Colts trading 13 for DeForrest Buckner. And probably signals the start of a QB domino effect with Rivers.

I'd watch for Diggs to be moved shortly. He's begging to get out of Minny now that Cousins was brought back on a 2 year deal.

Most logical explanation I've read: https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/2093863/bill-obrian-is-very-clearly-a-sleeper-cell-new-england-patriot-committed-to-getting-all-the-texans-best-players-out-of-the-afc
Well, either that or "Bill O'Brien might be a decent coach, but as a GM, he seems to be a fucking idiot who has as much skill at roster management as the typical casual fan whose idea for how their team should construct their roster is to get anyone from the local big-conference college power who is currently available".
