I enjoyed Argo a lot and The Town. But other than that, not many roles of his are any good. He is a pretty terrific writer/producer.

Argo and the town are great and he was great in them.

I'm seeing Isle of Dogs tomorrow. Not the type of movie I'd normally see in a theatre, but the choices were slim....going to one of those places that serve food and booze during the movie.

Review look good though.

I have tickets for deadpool for Thursday night. I'm curious to see how it holds up and if the humor is as good. From the reviews I've read online it's supposed to be better than the first so we'll see...

We all know how sequels tend to turn out but I think it looks better than the first based on th trailers.

I should have known better. It was still good but I don't think it was as good as the first one. It tried way too hard for most of the movie and just seemed to be missing something. It definitely had some funny points and the end credits scene was pretty funny.

This, in a nutshell, is why IMO most sequels don't stack up--they just can't meet our expectations, especially if we really liked the original.

The Guest - Think Terminator meets Halloween in an 80s vibe. I loved it. 8/10 A lot of fun

Saw Deadpool 2 this weekend. It was definitely hilarious and I liked it better than the 1st.

I, Tonya.  I'd give it an 8/10.  I remember that whole debacle quite clearly.  It was an interesting character study.  The acting was outstanding.

The Disaster Artist - 7/10

And now I need to see The Room, which I assume will be a 2/10.

Solo. 6/8.

Good and entertaining,  Just difficult to get out of the mindset that your watching a Star Wars movie with no jedi, no force, no rebellion as we are used to and just  small bits on the Empire.

GOod movie, just a total different mindset than the other stand alone movie, Rogue One (which I thought was fantastic) that still had the things SW fans have grown to enjoy

Game Night.   7/10.  Very fun.  Fairly funny.

Could not get over how much weight Todd (Breaking Bad) put on.  It's only been 5-6 years but that dude aged like 20.

I had never seen the Star Wars movies and never understood why people like it so much.

Decided to sit down down this weekend and watch the original trilogy (episodes 4-6).

I still don't understand the fuss - 5/10

I don’t understand why people expect them to be such great works of cinema. They are from the fucking 70s and 80s lol.

I will defend them to the plots though. Actually decent and not just throw together crap with space as a fallback. Overthrowing governments, politics, wars, etc. Pretty in depth for “mindless space movie”.

I enjoy them all, but wouldn’t say any are above an 7. Maybe Rogue 1, which is still my favorite.

I always think it's funny when people act like 1,2 and 3 ruined star wars and Hayden Christenson can't act. Lol did they watch 4,5 and 6? Luke Skywalker was pretty bad by today's standards. 1,2 and 3 are much better. Obi wan alone makes them better. Not to mention the original light saber battles were terrible. (I concede Jar Jar was awful)

I understand the graphics won't be much...story/plot is boring to me

lmao he was HORRIBLE in Star Wars.  I just think the concept was so grande and amazing that it made up for plot holes and bad acting.  But I thought Empire was pretty solid.

But hasn't the joke always been that Harrison Ford can't act but picks amazing scripts?

Yeah, and one really interesting thing about the originals to me was that the leads were mainly very inexperienced actors, where Ford was the only one who'd really done anything (and because of that, Lucas didn't originally want him as Solo, which was still his first big role). It's the sort of thing that kind of seems weird by today's standards, since almost everything is so star-driven, but they did really put the focus on the ambitious concept while starring more unknown actors as the leads, so there wasn't some huge name getting that focus.

I watched Solo last night. I had super low expectations and I thought it was entertaining. The acting was decent and the plot was ok. The special affects were good and it had some inside jokes for the nerds. The only issue I had was that I don't buy the lead actor as Han. He just doesn't work for me somehow. If I expected the movie to be great that probably would have ruined it for me, but I didn't.

Yeah, I didn't really like him either as Han.

WOrd is the "slow" weekend for the movie is changing how often they release SW films. They were going to ramp it up and have  character film and a trilogy each year, so basically two a year but this made them change to one a year.

I had super low expectations too mostly because Han really isn't that 'special' unlike many of the other characters in the movie.  Just doesn't jump out as something that is fascinating so I am not surprised it wasn't breaking any records.   Some say it is SW fatigue with just 6 months in between, and it could be, or a combo that many were disappointed in The Last Jedi.
