You need to just enjoy movies about dinosaurs and not take them so literal.

You're talking to a guy who is complaining about the physics in a science fiction movie being far-fetched while he simultaneously believes that dinosaurs literally lived on an Arc with human beings...

Not out yet but I saw that Unbroken is getting a sequel?   Imagine it will follow the latter part of the book but not sure.  I won't give a spoiler but I thought the ending of the book was very interesting but not sure how it will translate to a movie

Ah, the old ad hominem...

I am not going to get involved in the Noah's Ark (spelling) and dinosaur discussion on this thread, but you have miss characterized what I said. To be honest I don't care what else you put on this thread as I won't reply just stating you have no idea what you are talking about.

Off subject, but I can not wait for Super Troopers 2 this weekend.  Critics hate it, but they hated the original.

Also, I watched Glory Road again yesterday....I forgot how disneyfied the story was.....

Rampage: 10/10. The Rock can do no wrong.

But actually like a 5.5/10. Straight action and little plot. But knew that would be the case.

Yeah, it looks like a movie that revolves around that old game, and they've just paired it with just some gratuitous CGI and a light script, but shoot, I have fond memories of that game.  I'd probably enjoy it for that reason alone.

As long as you go in expecting no real plot and just some decent action/cgi with a little (and I do mean little) 80s video game nastalgia it is worth seeing.

Wife and I watched it.

What you described is pretty much all I'd be looking to find.

Haven't seen it, obviously, since I don't think it's out yet.....But apparently Avengers: Infinity War is like one of the most amazing movies ever.

Have a buddy who caught a pre-screening, and he seemed to agree with this.  Also said Thanos is far and away the best villain in any recent Marven movie.

It will be interesting to me to see if Avengers beats Black Panther's box office numbers. If it doesn't, that pretty much proves why BP has made so much money.

It should. Unless it bombs. Presale numbers are insane for it. So unless it sucks, trajectory would have it ahead of BP.

She was terrible in Star Wars

This is isn't directed at you, but it always makes me laugh when people complain about the acting or dialogue in the prequels. The acting in 4-6 was pretty meh. The dialogue was terrible. Harrison Ford changed some so it was ok/memorable. The special effects were good for there time, but the light saber battles were SO much better in the prequels. Seriously they've had to go back and come up with explanations for why Vader vs Obi Wan was so damn boring.

She was also like 16 or 17 during filming of the first one. Not that acting can’t be good at that age, but it’s tough when it’s a summer blockbuster, not a smaller budget movie, and you don’t have a director or producer or anyone who is helping you act.

Lol maybe I'm dense, but can you please spell out what it will prove?

People don't flood the theaters to watch a good movie.

Do I think it's entertaining overall? Sure. Do I think it should make more money than Infinity War? No. Every black person In the country apparently came out to watch it.

Dolores Claiborne - 7.5/10

I haven't watched it in years and it still held up for me.

Repeating what I said in the spoilers thread....Infinity War is pretty much Citizen Kane as far as I’m concerned.

Spectacular movie.

One of my favorite quotes comes from that movie:

I could be wrong, but I feel like the core fans go to all the marvel movies. I would feel like I was missing something if I didn't. If you never watched guardians then you wouldn't understand the dynamic between Nebula and Gamora. If you never watched Thor you wouldn't understand what the tesseract is?

I can see why Black Panther might draw in additional fans, but I don't think it's a bad thing if they managed to appeal to a wider audience.

I completely agree, but BP's previews were just ok (imo obviously) and to me, one character, especially one who isn't a top 5, shouldn't make more money than one with a collection of characters. I think BP is a good movie. I just don't think it's as good as the box office shows. Jmo

I guess I don't understand why the "Why Black Panther was so popular" thing really matters. Seems like since it's come out, the average "this site" commentary on it has been: "Black people really love it and are acting like it's super-culturally important to them, so here I am as a white dude to tell them they're wrong because I just thought it was good!!!!"

Just seems pointless to me to critique a movie based on how people who aren't you feel about it. "Man, Passion of the Christ was decent torture-porn where that long-haired dude really got fucked up, but I don't get why all those church-types praised it!!!"

Well for me, it's because I've read countless comments on different social media avenues where a person gets called racist or jealous if they critique the movie. It's cool that it has made the money it has, but I don't need to be called racist because I point out something I didn't like about a movie.

It's bc Black Panther is a better badass character than some of the other Marvel movies, IE Ant Man & Captain America IMO. It's not that hard to see why people would be drawn to a movie that doesn't star a perfect rich white guy bigdaddy. Give the audience something different that the usual and they'll likely enjoy it.
