It'll come in the near future. People (not individuals) have to get used to it. Like everything else.
My daughter's school was opened up completely at the beginning of the school year - that was great. When school started, they had tons and tons of rules about masks, walking on the right side of the hall, washing hands, space between desks, eating lunch, etc. Those were the things they had to do in order to be able to open. As the year went on (actually the very early part of the year), these things became more and more lax until they almost all went away quietly. I think this little example is a microcosm for society - once the energy stops pushing, the wheel starts to slow and stop. But it just takes a while for it to lose it's steam.

All things should stop here. Yes, we understand that you (people) are in the minority thought camp, and we respect that. But we aren't changing laws for you. You're going to have to accept and move forward, or make changes in YOUR life.

I'm not someone pushing for masks to continue. All I am saying is that I don't think we're in some sort of new world where we'll always wear them. In large numbers, people change slowly. Masks will go away after people get used to them not being necessary.

The flu kills about 30k people per year in the US. Cases of the flu last year were less than 1% of what they normally are.
Don't underestimate the moron left calling for permanent masks mandates to "save lives".
I don't think this will happen.

I think it's just common sense; a rarity among many elected officials, especially those without a backbone (which is the majority).
I suppose. Just hard not to be cynical of anything an elected official does. I respect Desantis' handling of the pandemic in Florida (i.e. be responsible for your level of risk).

Chicago set to “fully open” by July 4th.
Great, although I hate the symbolic dates attached to such things.

So do I, but it’s also a lot better than the standard, “We’re moving in the right direction. But still not quite there.” Especially from a liberal city and mayor.
This will be DeWine.

Hasn't that been him for some time now?
Well, yeah. And it will be him as we blow through the 4th of July with the mask mandate still in place.

Viral load is the key thing to remember. The odds that a vaccinated person gets this, and a severe enough case to have a high viral load to give other people a serious infection, is virtually nill.
This is the thing that people just stopped talking about and annoys me the most. It makes catching it outside virtually impossible.
