Sammy’s is good. We go there when we go to the gun range down the street. Fretboard Brewery is right by there as well.

That BBQ place inside Fretboard is awesome.  Do is their Dunkel.

Don’t think we’ve had it yet, we’ll try the next time we go.

Spock: hardly anyone in Cincinnati wearing a mask!

Also Spock: went to IKEA, I was the only one without a mask!

Whoops, meant to say Fletch.

I don’t understand the logic of people, who are fully vaccinated, but are still too fearful to walk around mask free.

The main argument I see is “the vaccine isn’t 100% effective.” Yeah? It will never be 100% effective, nor will the world ever be 100% vaccinated.  What’s the barometer for those who still insist on wearing masks after vaccination?

I think it's a courtesy thing more than anything.

I can see all kinds of sides to the mask thing, except the idea that wearing them is any more than a very minor inconvenience.

It doesn't make any sense. Once you are vaccinated, there is no reason to wear a mask. Anyone who wants to be vaccinated can be, so anyone unvaccinated has chosen to risk getting the disease. Even the horrible messaging CDC says that vaccinated people are unlikely to spread the disease, if they somehow get it which is already unlikely.

I think it's got to do with the fact that even if you're vaccinated, you can still transmit covid. I don't think it's so much a protection for the person wearing the mask.

This sounds like a "masks forever" situation.

1.  Vaccinations have shown they are 100% effective on keeping you out of the hospital.

2.  There is zero evidence that there is asymptotic spread.

I don't think so.  I think it is a group psychology issue.  The pandemic was a huge year+ long event.  It will take society time to readjust to normal.  As such, I believe masks will peter out over the coming weeks and months.

Just a guess, but I don't think it will be a forever thing.

I believe Joe asked us to wear masks for his first 100 days. It's been 100 days and he's still pushing them hard.

Yes I do.   But I don't mind doing it if required for a while longer while people get used to them going away.

JFC, if a restaurant asks you to wear a mask to come in or something like that.  No matter how much you'd like it to be, this isn't Orwell's 1984.

At one point will restaurants (or the government bureaucrats in the shadows) realize that there is no difference in transmission between sitting down and standing up?

Further study shows #1 to be very high 90s, not 100%

No, we don't need to babysit the "snowflakes."  I'm sorry.  Stop pandering to the weak.  We should encourage STRENGTH in our country.  I said encourage... not idolize, and not demonizing the weak.  But don't pander to the weak either.  This is nauseating.

At this point, if a maskless face terrifies you I don't really care. It has been over a year. Everyone has access to the vaccine. If not now, when?
