Having my first Lake Erie Monster for this year in a couple of hours.
A lot of local breweries announced they have eliminated all restrictions so we're going to have a little brewery tour this weekend to make up for a year of lost time.
enjoying some Blantons
Tripping Animals- King of Everything
Tripping Animals- Third Dose
Full Circle- Illa Vanilla
Branch & Bone- Curl of the Burl
Branch & Bone- 2021 Bourbon Barrel Feral Dawn
Been on a Espolòn Blanco kick lately...usually on the rocks with a lime slice.
Struggling to find some good Hazy IPAs in Dallas. So far Spindletap outta Houston has some great beers but are hard to find and I had a good one from Deep Ellum but that’s about it.
Had Supreme Allied Commander from R. Shea yesterday. Might be the smoothest 15.8% Imperial Stout ever. It's a chocolate covered, salted caramel triple oatmeal pastry stout. R. Shea does not make a bad beer.
I don’t drink much cider/shandy but I tried Rhinegeist’s Zango the other night and it’s pretty good. Looks like they released a honey cider I’m looking for.
As for tonight, picked up Fretboard’s new honey lager and Sonder’s Certified Heater which is a double dry hopped double NE IPA.
Picked up a variety 12 pack of Great Lakes for the Father’s Day weekend:
Dortmund Gold
Elliot Ness
Edmund Fitzgerald
Commodore Perry
(those are my 27 year old twins in the background)
Sonder’s Blue Ice Cream ale. Amazing. Downed several of these.
Sounder puts out some solid vrews
That ice cream ale is something I would like to try.
Spent the weekend in Lexington with a college buddy and had a little too much fun. Don't remember all I drank, but I'm still paying for it this morning.
Oxbow Brewing Co (Maine) - Northern Lager ..........very good
New Holland Brewing (Michigan) - Hazy River IPA New England style ......another good one (on a humid Father's Day).
At a brewery in Orlando called Rockpit Brewing. They have a kviek pale ale that is about the best beer I’ve had in a while.
4 beers later…
only 2 more for a smooth half dozen...
Went to Dayton Dragons game last night and the bar across the stadium had Great Lakes Christmas Ale on tap. I was pleasantly surprised and happy.
I know that’s a Christmas in July thing or whatever but a beer store not far from me was already getting in some Octoberfest beers yesterday.
I had two seltzers the other day on tap in columbus from a brewery in Cincinnati, I think it was called March 1st. One was "Bomb Pop" and the other was "Red Cream Soda", both were really good. Other than that I have been going to Giant Eagle once a week and buy the pick six packages and have tried some really good beers from: Nocterra, Saucy Brew works, North High Brewery, and Rhinegeist. Also I am in the process of buying the materials to make my own seltzer and beer.
I have never been impressed with March First, but I did hear about the Red Cream Soda the other day and it sounds good.
My wife brought me back three 4-packs from Double Nickel Brewing from NJ. A hazy ipa, a kviek ipa, and a kettle sour. All have been good.
