Assuming it passes by the end of the week (I’m reluctant it’ll be that easy because politics) I’ve still read it could be mid-April into May people start to see anything from it?

Yup. Article I just read from 10tv said democratic aides have said those with direct deposit on file with IRS could see it in a few weeks. If not, it could be several months.

Also, for independent contractors I read you may be eligible for unemployment.  No idea how that process will work, though.  Might apply to S-corps, but maybe not LLC's.

I read checks won’t come until May. My question is how can you have an income limiter, what if their current career is destroyed?

I'm straight commission so if I don't sell, I don't eat. Fortunately, my commissions get withheld for 60-90 days so there's a lag as to when I get paid. I've spoken with my boss and my commissions will be split up equally over the next 5 months, which should have been paid to me by June. Hopefully we're back to normal then as I don't anticipate closing many deals (executive recruiter) over the next few months. I'm definitely not getting one of those stimulus checks though.

$200k a year per couple or 99k a single I think (or close). Either way that’s great if you can still make that much after this giant cluster fuck. Think it’s based on your 18/19 taxes.

If you’ve filed already, it’s based on 2019. If not, it’s based on 2018.

Who's keeping the check, and who's giving it back?  I assume you claim it as income on 2020 tax filing, correct?

Fucking aye.  What kind of Taxception bullshit is it that you get taxed on income paid for by taxes on income?

It won’t actually be 100-0, but there are no senators voting no.

Did they have to buy Bernie another house to keep him from blocking it?

Heard earlier is was set to pass but old crazy Bernie put the kibosh on it.

Don't know about Bernie but 4 Republicans were holding it up over the unemployment provisions. Their amendment to scale it back was voted down.

I'm the only one who works in the house and I still won't be getting it at that figure (150k).

Are you serious?  Please reassure us that you aren't really "that guy".

I am not 'that guy' but his one lady was going loco.  She wants all the gas stations, grocery stores, closed and no one even allowed to go outside to walk or do anything.    I told her people wont go for that, nor should they....

Doubt he's trolling, since last week, he was all "No, me go to gym and you can't stop me!" until gyms were shut down. Seems to be some sort of side effect of being really insecure, where you have to project an image of what you consider to be toughness regardless of how stupid you actually look to everyone else. Kind of like when you're a little kid and your parents tell you to put on a coat and you're like, "No, I'm not cold!!!!" and then have to act casual in short sleeves in 40-degree, rainy weather despite being miserable. With the added bonus of potentially infecting other people, that is.

Nah, when its cold I bundle up.  That is some kind of stupid right there!  ALways funny to see HS football coaches who always wear the shorts, even late in the playoffs to 'act tough'.  Dude has to be miserable.

I could still use that small gym i referenced but since we are now directed to work from home I dont plan on driving all the way to that place and will just run around the hood, until that gets banned too.

This whole thing is just tragic to what it is doing to the economies and will have long reaching effects.  I am fortunate to work from home, but i did get two important work trips cancelled taht would have netted me an additional monies i was counting on and a promotion, but i am grateful to still be working and getting paid.

Huge push in our local town for peeps to get take out/drive through at local restaurants. Some have been running out of food, 2hour waits, placing the order the day before, with so much outpouring support but this is gonig to hurt a lot folks.

I feel for those who lost their jobs. Other than those in minimum-wage type jobs (and not even all of them), my empathy is tempered by the study in Forbes last year showing 78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. Falls under "Life is hard, and harder if you're stupid".
