I won’t be buying anything, considering my employment situation. Now, if we go back to work full time, that could change.

If my employer gets things going again, I'll be using a chunk of it to upgrade my work machine.  I've been selling off old laptops and phones.  Since I've always kept mine in good shape, they've tended to retain their value to some degree.  In any case, though, with a few extra hundred, I could future-proof myself for a bit and hold Moore's Law off.

Got my eyes on a lightly used Razer Blade at the moment.

Yeah, it’ll definitely come back to “bite” us.

Saw this in tweet form this morning:

What do you plan to buy with your relief check, and in what caliber?

Has anyone named sleeper responded with “relief checks are for the poor”

I believe they go by 18s return if you haven’t filed for 19 yet. 150k joint I think for income.

Great news, I haven't filed 2019 yet. I was just under $150,000 in 2018 (wife makes minimal part time), and I will be well over it for 2019 since I started the 2nd/weekend job.

It will be going right into the savings account and as soon as the coronavirus scare is over it will be paying for a trip to an all inclusive resort in the Carribbean for the whole family.

Alabama, where I live, has closed K-12 schools for the remainder of the year.  Not a total surprise, but sad nonetheless.  My daughter is not happy and I understand why.

Here in the Jackson the elementary teachers at 1 school did a parade route of sorts going by many of their kids homes. It was very well accepted.

Such a strange time

Very cool.  That kind of thing means so much to the kids.  Those sound like great teachers.

Well that sucks. Won’t get the extra $500 for our son who is 11mo, because he wasn’t born when we filed ‘18, and ‘19 hasn’t been filed yet.

Of course, if they took 2019, we wouldn’t qualify for under $150k...so I guess maybe I won’t raise a big stink lol.

I’m just very reluctant to believe this 6-8K new cases a day number Dr. Acton threw out.

I read where you can take a coronavirus hardship distribution from your 401k.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/25/what-the-senate-coronavirus-relief-bill-means-for-your-retirement.html

Tucked into the measure are a series of changes that would relax rules on retirement savings, including a line item that would allow you to take a hardship distribution of up to $100,000 from your 401(k) plan without the 10% early withdrawal penalty if you’re under age 59½.

What's the wife get?  She should get it all for having to be married to you, and all.

I'm sure she's just tired and misspeaking again....just like there were supposed to be 100k cases by the end of last week.

I think the official tally from John Hopkins has Ohio with 868 confirmed cases.

Prior to the current levels of testing many with symptoms could have been infected.  Around five weeks ago I had a strange illness.  Went into the office very early as usual within an hour began to have severe chills and body aches along with chest congestion and occasional cough.  Left for home a couple of hours later shivering in my winter coat.  Shaking and teeth chattering the whole drive home. Wife threw a couple of blankets on me left for work some time after 9am with me still shaking like a leaf.  Never checked my temp because I did not feel hot.

Woke up in the afternoon and the chills were gone but the body aches remained chest congestion remained.  Body aches were severe late that evening I was sure I would not be going into the office.  Woke up earlier than usual the next morning.  Body aches gone.  Still had the occasional cough and milder chest congestion.  Thought this has passed so went to the office and had a sudden cough at my desk that I caught with my hand.  Blood.  Again blood then just small dots.

Got an appointment at the doc.  They checked my temp there.  Normal.  Scheduled me for a CT scan and bloodwork. Nothing of consequence found in the phone convo but wanted me to come in at a later date to formally discuss.  Final reschedule never happened as shortly after this all went down.

Chest congestion lasted a several weeks.  Given my medical history if this happened today I might be in line for a test.

I think I heard her say that these would have been the numbers had we done nothing/worst case scenario. These official numbers are so far off though that IMO they shouldn't even be stated without a disclaimer saying the number of infected is much higher. We all know by now that many show mild/no symptoms at all and testing is still very limited.

That number up to a million Ohioans yet?

Absolute scare tactic she used from the start which lead to so many Ohians being so subservient to the shutdown.

With that said.......any yall get freaked when you sneeze or cough????
