At least if you end-up on a respirator you have the comfort of knowing if you die, you'll die swoll!
So swoll.

Thavoice basically being this site's poster child for why the government is choosing to be on the side of over-reaction due to the whole "I ain't scurred!!!!" self-defeating stupidity that a lot of people have where they think they're being cool and edgy by saying "fuck it" to the whole self-distancing thing.
I'm flabbergasted that more people don't think to themselves, "Why am I refusing to do this? What do I gain?"
Unless your indulgences (and yes, being able to exercise in a facility dedicated to it which cost millions of dollars to build is an indulgence) are somehow more important than the life and health of you and your loved ones, this should be a no-brainer.

I think it is all about lack of control. My dad is an extreme case. He thinks the whole thing is made up, that it's political, that its designed to hurt Trump, that no one is going to tell him what to do. In reality, I think he is wrestling with the same questions the rest of us have: what is this? how long will it last? Am I in danger? are my at-risk loved ones in danger? etc. Uncertainty like that is troubling to our nature. We have something we have absolutely no control over, that we can only try to manage circumstances. Saying "I won't be told what to do" is one way of maintaining control (or appearing to). The sooner we can all accept the uncertainty, the better off we'll each be.

As for "the gym". I just ran 8 miles out on some country road. It was some real social distancing.
Wise move. I can appreciate this.

I would recommend finding the entire hour long interview of Michael Pillsbury with Mark Levin that aired last night. Extremely insightful.
No. No. No. No.
The last thing we should be listening to right now is some China hawk pushing his agenda to a hyper partisan guy like Levin.
How about stuff related from actual health experts, not some hawk using the vrius to push his shit.

Wife went out to the store today to grab some frozen vegetables to make some soup to freeze. She said the two stores near us were a little more crazy today. People were a little more conspiracy talking today than the last few days. She also noted people were not practicing good hygiene and touching their faces and multiple surfaces.
My county in Maryland had its first confirmed case, a 30 year healthcare worker. It is not bad as she is not in the hospital and self quarantining.
Governor Hogan followed Dewine and MD is closing all bars and places to eat.

We took our niece and nephew a few months ago. I can't imagine their cleaning process being super effective.

We've had to attend a couple of birthday parties at one of those places. Disgusting, ech, whatever you want to say. An easy decision to shut those things down.
I'm bummed about not going to the gym, but I get the logic behind it. If that's my ultimate sacrifice, I'm sitting pretty. I can very easily think of people I know personally that have challenges that are exponentially worse than my worst day.

Bay Area instituting a shelter-in-place order through at least April 7th:
https://www.sfchronicle.com/local-politics/article/Bay-Area-must-shelter-in-place-Only-15135014.php
The order falls just short of a full lockdown, which would forbid people from leaving their homes without explicit permission, and it wasn’t immediately clear how, or to what degree, it would be enforced. The order calls for the sheriff or chief of police to “ensure compliance.” In Italy and other places that have instituted lockdowns, travel outside the home has been restricted without permission and police have been ordering people back home if they don’t have a reason to be in public.

Yeah but in 2 or fewer days it’ll be after all-star break or Aug 1.....why can’t anyone fucking wait 10-14 days to reevaluate everything.
That’s my biggest complaint. Although it’s early and who knows what we know right now, the way they talk on TV you’d think were failing. Trump said today don’t be surprised if precautions carry on tIl July or August. People can imagine the worst on their own. Every day they push the dates back more and more.
They want to keep it under control for as long as possible. It’d be really awful if we kept this under control for a month and started opening shit back up and then the virus started spreading. So I can understand that part of it.

A judge is about to rule on the lawsuit to postpone the primaries for Ohio tomorrow. It sounds as if he will rule that voting WILL take place.
