I had to get on Twitter to look this one up. It's up to 78K votes now with the same 79-21 margin. Seems to me that if I were in a profession that requires running for re-election every few years, I wouldn't be so adamant about saddling myself to a concept that's such a loser in peoples' eyes, to the degree that even if I lead the question with alarmist terminology, my preferred answer is still getting run out of the building.
Eh, he's from California. He'll likely get re-elected by a safe margin.

I'm not sure how much design and development cost actually went into slapping a colonial flag on the back of a shoe.
Ah, yeah. I overlooked the word "prototype."
In that case, I actually get why Nike pulled it. I still think it's dumb to be offended by it, but I don't blame them as much for nixing a prototype.

The article I read said they had already shipped it to stores, and they actually had to pull the shoes back. That isn't cheap. It was slated for release on 7/1, they'd have shipped it to stores in May or very early June.

Ah, see that was what I was thinking initially. If it had just been a design, it would have been less impactful for them. Still weird to take all their cues from a never-quite-made-it-back quarterback in the NFL as opposed to a team that does market research, but it's their money.

Ohh that's my bad then. The article I read mentioned prototype instead of already manufactured shoes. Ok then.

You have to give Kaep some credit. For being such a shitty QB he has found a way to make his name come thru the news cycle every 4-6 months. At least there will probably be more kids googling to find out who Betsy Ross is.

Anyone see the elected house rep from Florida say today that people who mock Congress online should be prosecuted? Nbd... and yes it’s the dumbass lady who wears cowboy hats and sequin jackets.

I'm sure that, if we dig into her history, we would never find any such statements.
Hell, didn't she have a public feud with the president in which she called him more than a couple names?

To be fair, Trump has given the green light on outrageous talk.

Didn't she get into a "battle" with Trump about a year ago? I think it was over gold star spouses. She's an idiot.
When people act shocked that someone like Trump could be POTUS, remember to remind them this country has been electing fucking morons (we could easily start a list) at all levels for the last 20-30 years. It was only a matter of time, before one of these morons made it to the White House.

Sure, but if you're going to participate in it, maybe don't say citizens should be prosecuted for it.

Well, when you have like 90% of the media to carry your water, you don't want those pesky conservatives running around refuting your narrative on Twitter and Facebook. Liberals truly do seem to be terrified of debate.
The current crop in office, anyway, yeah. A particularly clear example have been the recent "debates," which have mostly just been a competition over who can offer the biggest package of promised free shit and skilled virtue signaling.

I can agree with that.
One of the better things about being an American is that we are guaranteed the right to mock our government.
