Ben Carson is very accomplished I’m the medical field. I’m not sure he’s qualified to be in housing or whatever he’s doing now. He looks out of his element the times I’ve seen him

Ben Carson is the perfect example of identity politics are easy stronger then race.  He is 100% considered an uncle tom by the black community because he isnt a democrat.  In reality he does way more for minorities in his position then Sharpton and Jackson will ever do.

Carson and HUD does a lot for minority communities and my bet is that as a black man he does even more

He also cut 16.4 percent from the hud budget which makes these two initiatives look like peanuts. Also the time he had no idea what REO’s were and thought they were talking about cookies. I think Ben Carson is a nice guy but he’s clearly being used

Ben Carson has separated conjoined twins.  That takes a tremendous amount of intelligence and dexterity.  As surgeons age they lose like all of us some of their physical abilities but not their mental capacity.

He could have retired in peace as an honorable man and maybe did something in the medical field.  Instead he chose to get involved in politics and now he is some kind of slow confused idiot that like you say is "looks out of his element".

Carson grew up in urban Detroit in a broken family.  Given his childhood experience growing up and his proven intelligence in his profession.  I think the guy is fully capable to adapt to his position.

This has to be one of the funniest, and most ironic, things you'll see in politics:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/labor-fight-roils-bernie-sanders-campaign-as-workers-demand-the-15-hourly-pay-the-candidate-has-proposed-for-employees-nationwide/ar-AAEx8o9?li=BBnba9O

Bernie campaign workers - union, of course - are demanding a $15 per hour wage Sanders is saying should be the federal minimum.

So Mr. Socialist is proud he's the first campaign to unionize his workers...and they immediately turn around and hold his campaign hostage for higher pay.

I think the people you mentioned and the fact I don’t know who they are means they really don’t have a connection or get the respect from the black community, so when they join up with the gop I can see why people call them uncle toms in some cases

You are digging your hole deeper  gee.

Thr fact that you don’t know them means the black community doesn’t and that’s why they switched to the gop?

You know your last sentence is basically the dog whistle for calling someone an Uncle Tom?

Pretty close, unless you draw a distinction between someone being used without their knowledge and someone happily agreeing to be used.

Maybe that’s why but my point is what is their connection to the black community? Besides being black? Do they take any type of stance or comment on issues regarding black people? If I don’t know who they are it’s a good chance lots of other black people don’t know who they are. So why would people view them as someone to follow if that makes sense? Idk in this climate I can’t believe anyone would think I person of color would jump on board with the gop. Trump was just featured on the cover of a neo nazi magazine, now that’s not exactly his fault but can you say that any other candidate let’s say if kasich has won, with the exact same policies would be put on the cover as well?

For the record, I do believe Thomas Sowell has said plenty about the black community and political platforms that affect them.

Donald Trump is racist. That's probably why people of color don't support him.

No argument here.

However, if a POC did support him, I'd have a hard time with the idea of them being written off as an Uncle Tom without any sound reason for it.

The idea of not being "allowed" to support a particular platform, or even a person if you disagree with the prevailing sentiment about them, seems highly problematic.

Our positions should be judged by rationality by which we got there, and not by the end conclusion itself.

lLOLOLOLO...Bernie is done.  His campaign chair wont pay their workers $15 an hour

Even with time and half I read where they make a little less than $13 per hour.

Thing is, it's one rung above unpaid volunteer, and most people are doing it for the experience and/or because they are passionate about the candidate  The article goes on to say many average over 60 hours but some have quit because they can't pay the bills.  Think about that.  It's a temp job that no one takes for the pay or lifestyle.  Except you're making the equivalent of $40k per year - a single 20-something can't live on that?  Really?!?

So that article really bought the lulz....Entitled millennials trying to live beyond their means working to elect a socialist.  The irony is obvious, right?

Trump vs. The Squad is some seriously slimey politics.

Of course, it's a win for them to be elevated by Trump.  And maybe a win for Trump to make them the face of the Democratic party.  But how in the world does Trump win exchanging insults with a bunch of crazy freshmen Reps?

I think this is the new political reality.  Trump showed how to generate massive, free publicity....and how to turn negative coverage to his benefit.  The Squad is following the same blueprint - when is the last time you can remember anyone paying attention to freshmen Congresspersons?  Ted Cruz is the only one I can immediately think of, and he kind of played the same game just without the over-the-top inflammatory and outrageous statements.

Trump playing 4D chess.  A win for the squad is a win for Trump when the Dem candidate for Prez is going to have to answer for them.  That is a sure way to lose the election.  The radical left is going to lose the election.  The dems could run anyone and they would lose defending them.  Trump keeping them in the news cycle is what he is doing.

Wait until the 2020 election. By that point, CC will have him up to 17D chess while everyone else is stuck on Tic Tac Toe.

And he won't be playing.  He'll be a Grand Master at 17D chess.
