Did Bennet Kneel?

As far as the tweet and his girlfriend, the source for that was Ray Lewis who doesnt work for the Ravens

I doubt Kaep or Reid Ever play in the league again is my opinion but either way at this point it is irrelevant.  My point again was not to argue about this issue but rather the similarity to the position that the NFL and ABC were in.

Are you trying to discredit Ray Lewis as a valid source when it comes to the Ravens just because he doesn't work for them?

yes, he gave an opinion its def not a fact.  Not saying it isnt possible but def not a fact.  either way im not here to argue why kaep isnt in the league.  Its obvious and has nothing to do with his talent.  Please lets reference Eric Reid as my example

Bennet would and still sits for the anthem.  He is also outspoken, beats up old people, and lies about his encounters with police.  Still has a job.  Marshawn Lynch... still has a job.  The whole point is there are over 200 NFL players who have protested in this sort of fashion and most of them still have a job.  Don't believe me?  Just google the list of players who have sat or knelt during the anthem.  There is no conspiracy to keep Kaep or Reid out of the league.  If a player is good enough, he is always worth the headache in the NFL.  Anyone who has been watching the NFL for years knows this.  You have an active rapist leading your steelers every year.

Kaep won't play again, because he sucks ass and isn't good enough for a team to deal with the headache. It's incredible how you and others have short term memory on how terrible Kaep was before he lost his job.  The dude lost out on a starting spot to Blaine fucking Gabbert.  I still want to know who the fuck thinks Kaep is a starter in the NFL.  Please tell me. Reid already turned down an offer.  You can't discredit that fact, because it is "old news."  The fact of the matter is he had a job offer and turned it down.  If Reid wants to play somewhere I'd bet he can get a job.

Also as much as Ray is a piece of shit that guy is pretty close with the  entire organization (including the owner) and the city of Balitmore.  I think his report was pretty credible and it makes sense.

Edit: I don't know how I missed your link.  Please go thru every NFL team and tell me which team Kaep deserves to be a starter.  If you apply this logic and approach, it is laughable to think that most NFL teams think he is a starter. Remember, this guy lost his job to Blaine Gabbert.   When you look at every team, there is maybe 2-4 teams that could have Kaep at camp and MAYBE compete for a job, because they have a terrible group of QBs.  Even those shitty teams with a terrible group of QBs are going in the direction of taking their chances on the rookie QBs they drafted.

He was hurt when he lost his job to Gabbert.  He also had a laughable group of recievers and offensive line but OK.  Anyway if you read the link it was  Pete Carroll who said Kaep had starting talent for the league.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2769873-eric-reid-reportedly-willing-to-re-sign-with-49ers-on-1-year-contract

if they did formally offer him a 1 year deal which there are conflicting reports that he did or didnt and if he did turn it down which i have seen reports saying he did and that he didnt.  Im not sure how that means he wouldnt be offered a contract elsewhere. Players turn down 1 year deals all the time.  Given the fact that he is rated as a top 5 safety common sense says that there is another reason he is not in the league besides the fact that he turned down a 1 year deal with 49ers.  Seems irrelevant to me

anyway i def dont want to argue this topic, ive done it 100 times online and in person.  Im not going to change your opinion.  My point was never to debate the merits of their talent but rather point out the similarities between the situation the nfl/abc were in.  and also the irony of those who thought it was very appropriate for kaep/reid to be blackballed for free speech  but are calling for a boycott of abc for free speech

Kaep was straight up benched, came back to play and then lost his job again. He is/was trash.  The dude had about 11 good weeks in the NFL and that is it.  The fact that both QBs are even comparable tells you enough about Kaep's ability.  I read the link.  Considering he already has an all-pro QB, using a Pete Carroll quote is not a very strong argument.  Again, look at every NFL team, look at the direction they are going, and then tell me which team Kaep deserves to be a starter.  It really is that simple.  It doesn't take long to look at every team and realize he doesn't have a starting spot.  Do you watch the NFL or not?  I would put Kaep's ability on par with RGIII and RGIII sat out an entire year, before being offered a chance to come to training camp.  The main difference between the two is one doesn't come with an extra package.

Also, once again tell me why over the 200 players that protested still have a job. There is no conspiracy to keep Reid and Kaep out of the league.

No. Just whether or not it had anything to do with him being signed or not.  his comment says piece of shit guy  is "pretty close" to the team,  and 'pretty credible". this is not statement of fact but rather lewis repeating a rumor or stating his opinion as hearing a rumor.  It could be true but still has nothing to do with my original points just more deflecting

So if it wasnt for the backlash a team would face for signing kaepernick, he wouldnt be in the league?  Have you looked around the league and looked at QB rosters?  as you have stated he isnt in the league because teams dont want the backlash from 45 and his tweets.  but that is not the same is saying he doesnt have the talent. and doubly so with Eric Reid.  I can see your point that some players may have so much talent teams are willing to deal with it, but also most of the "outraged" people cant name any of the other 198 people on that list myself included.  This means the teams dont have to face the backlash for it so its kind of an invalid argument.  Similar to my point with the k. olberman comments.  Most people could care less about him so it goes unaddressed where jemelle hill on the other hand gets two week suspension for saying 45 is a white supremacist because she is a more polarizing figure to the right. Kaep and Ried have been singled out from the rest even tho many players sat and are being punished by the owners to satisfy the conservative base

Alright, this is my last response to this, because I have work to do and you're just going in circles.  Apparently you're not reading my posts.

-I already stated if Kaep didn't have baggage he would at least be on a training camp roster.  What part of this is difficult for you to comprehend?  If a player is carrying baggage he better be able to produce.  If he can't produce, there is no NFL team that will be willing to pay him AND deal with the baggage.  I know you have a hard time looking at large sample sizes, but you can look at the last 20+ years of the NFL and find many examples of this.

-I did look at every NFL roster, that is why I challenged you to do the same.  Every team either A. Already has a starting QB and doesn't need a shitty backup carrying extra baggage or B. Is going in the direction of seeing where their rookie QB can take their franchise.  These teams rather surround their rookie QB with veterans who aren't carrying any baggage.  Why the fuck would a NFL team with a starting QB pay a backup QB who is going to bring in extra distractions?  Why the fuck would a NFL team trying to mold a franchise QB pay a backup QB who is going to bring in extra distractions?

-The rest of your post went on an irrelevant tangent that has nothing to do about Kaep and Reid. The fact of the matter is you're fixated on two players (one who happens to be a shitty player despite the fact you want to ignore this), while ignoring a much larger sample size of players who protest/outspoken/headcases and CURRENTLY (key word is currently... we aren't even looking at past NFL roster) still have a job in the NFL. Where I come from if you choose the outlier to hang onto your argument, while ignoring the 200+ data points that prove you argument incorrect, that is called either being a dumbass or simply too stubborn to face the facts.  I will take the data that supports my argument, and you can carry on with your tin foil hat.

cool i def didnt want to talk about this topic anyway. my post was about the NFL/ABC reaction as a business in regards to free speech.  not whether Kaep should have been in the leage as a said several times. without google i bet people couldnt name 5 players who also took a knee.  If they could and the teams caught heat for them, they would be cut or not signed as well.  Unless as you say we are talking about pro bowl players.  Simple fact is no one can name the other players because the focus of the outrage is Kaep and Ried.  I didnt fixate on those players trump/media/public did.

how did i say race at all?  please show me?  I said the nfl/abc both had to make decisions based on losing money. I said i didnt think the nfl really cared about patriotism and abc probly didnt care about the tweet.  but in business you have to look at the bottom line.  ABC was def more honest about it.  never mentioned race but ok.

This is an interesting article: https://reason.com/blog/2018/05/29/roseanne-barr-valerie-jarrett-cancelled/

This race to find more things to be offended about and more reasons to start lynch mobs doesn't seem particularly healthy for the fabric of American society, especially if right and left are determined to one-up each other on the outrage front. Many media companies will attempt to appease viewers on both sides of the ideological spectrum, and their output will be that much less interesting.

I would agree for the most part, but how is this consistent with their "image"?  ESPN in same family with Disney. It's hard to explain but I don't like Roseanne, don't care about her show, but if you're going to make rules that offensive speech is not tolerated, how do you pick and choose who you fire/ hire?

I'm not sure they would even make such a decision based on their image.  I'd argue that this, just like the NFL, is a private company guarding their bottom line.

You can agree or disagree with the business in either case from an ethical standpoint.  You can agree or disagree with the employed party in either case from an ethical standpoint.  But from a legal standpoint, they don't have to feign any ideological consistency.

So you don’t care that they fired Barr but you are all against the NFL making anthem requirements.

You appear to be just as hypocritical as those you are just “pointing out”.

One has to be on the NFL and ABC side or the Barr and players side to be consistent.

I dont compare racist tweets to a silent protest.  many were defending the nfl for their right to fire kaep and reid but arent defending ABC.  Im not against the NFL making a rule for the anthem but it should be collectively bargained with the players as it is in the NBA.  I also think they could have avoided this whole thing by showing the same empathy for the players issues as the NBA does.  Rosanne is a person who previously had disrespected the anthem way more than the players so it even adds more irony to me to those who support her.  I did think the NFL was wrong.  I was corrected by those who showed me as a business they have the right to determine who they employ.  Im just repeating the same logic people have been hitting me with all year.

1. Free speech is free speech, whether its kneeling or tweeting something racist. You are just agreeing with one and disagreeing with the other based on your own ideology just like those you are complaining about on here.

2. I agree with the NFL and ABC, its their right as the employer to discipline/fire anyone they want if they view it as hurting their "company".
