Judiciary vote is today, the floor vote is monday.  GOP is going to cuck themselves per usual.  They just gave the dems 3 full days to come up with more bullshit.  Not to mention Avenati's client has a primetime interviewing with NBC airing Sunday.

Before Feinstein released her "bombshell" I was indifferent. After first woman came forward I was skeptical. Second accuser came out and I was smelling smoke. Third/fourth... I'm not buying any of it now.

I agree that there were plenty of other choices for the GOP. Would you have approved if they immediately dropped him like a hot potato? I know it probably would have crossed MY mind to do that, but that doesn't mean that is what I would do. But it would have crossed my mind. Do you think that the GOP is/was wrong in trying to get this woman to tell her side of the story? Would you rather that they did not?

I suppose that there might be some culpability in the GOP but right now, I can't think of what it is.

I don't give two shits or a fuck about Mark Judge.

Again, I hope this never happens again. I don't believe it is beneficial to the accusers, the accused, the politicians or the public.

I am saying that the GOP people investigating these nominees knew the baggage and they blew it off. 9 deep field FBI background checks and nobody thought - gee he's got this creepy friend who wrote a book with a character in it with the same last name getting hammered all the time. Gee, there's emails where he references getting hammered.

Etc.

And indeed - in the grand world all,of those things may be irrelevent to his being a judge but Kavanaugh was already held up for two years when nominated for the court of appeals. The GOP establishment that pushed their guy Kavanaugh on Trump blew this thing. It was a layup and they gave the Democrats all they could possibly get out of this fight.

For drinking? LMAO.  What happened to the good ol days (about 2.5 weeks ago) when liberals made fun of conservatives for being up tight?

After watching about 5 mins of Kav's testimony and then seeing Lindsay Graham have his outburst, I'm pretty convinced the committee votes for him and he gets confirmed by about a 52-48 margin.

Hope so.  If not, give dems what they really want and cram barret thru.

I don’t like Lindsey Graham usually, but enjoyed his “outburst”. Still not sure they have the vote. Collins/ Flake/ and Mankin (forget the name) could all be no.

I saw a comment somewhere that made me laugh:

"you're a gang rapist!"

"lulz....why you so mad, bro?"

They really do need to just vote and move on.

Predictably, liberals are saying he "lacks a judicial temperament".  Whereas you know if he had been calm and reserved people would be saying "he's fighting for his career and reputation.....no emotion....is that how a falsely accused person would react?!?"

Flake is a yes on Kav. Meaning it will go to the floor now.

I expect all the Rs to fall in line now.

Committee also fails to subpoena Mark Judge, which is expected given yesterday.

I also kinda find it funny now all the liberals are screaming about how the court will suddenly become political and the institution of the Supreme Court is now tainted. That's laughable as the Court has always been political and really joined the modern political movements after Bork. (I'd say John Roberts and his calling balls and strikes was the exception, not the rule)

In the end, the Rs want a conservative on the court. Plain and simple.

Confirmed or not, the damage has already been done.  A divided nation is now even more divided.  Thanks to our public servants.   Also, I don't see the value added with the subpoena of Mark Judge.  He has submitted 2 (maybe even 3?) statements to the judiciary committee.  All punishable if they are false.

Anyone, especially the dems banging the "further investigation" drum can go fuck themselves at this point.  It's pretty transparent the goal is to delay, delay, and delay.  Feinstein deceptively held this until the last minute.  They could have spoken to Judge back in early August.  She fucking recommended a lawyer to Ford, then met Kavanaugh and did not say a single word about it.  She then goes on to leak the story.  I am not sure how anyone can say she wasn't being deceptive for political reasons.  She is a special kind of piece of shit.

Edit: When this is all said and done I can see Mark Judge going out to sue numerous people.

Damage was done back in the past. This is Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill 2.0. Just like Thomas, Kav will get confirmed and we will look back at this in 20 years and say it was historic.

I do think Feinstein holding back this info severely hurt their argument. If it was to protect Ford, ok, but then it blew up in their face. If it was this bad, seriously bring it up during the hearings. In the end, the fact that it was held back was an easy reason for the Rs to question the whole motive.

I do believe Ford, but acknowledge that it is possible that Kav simply does not actually remember doing this either. That grey area is enough for the Rs to to keep Kav and vote for him

I look at yesterday as just sad and a waste.

Agreed, but Anita/Clarence didn't have internet at the time.  Our country is much more polarizing now than it was then.  There is a reason more people are depressed now than they were a decade or two ago.  I can understand why, because the news does nothing but depress or anger people.  My point was this entire saga just made us even more divided.

I don't buy Feinstein holding the info to protect Ford.  If that were the case she wouldn't have leaked the story the last minute.  She also would have questioned Kavanaugh about it.   Based on her prior history, she doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.  She is a piece of shit.

I concede Ford's hearing came off pretty credible, however so did Kavanaugh's.  When two testimonies are credible you go to the evidence and based on the evidence Kavanaugh should be confirmed.

Yeah I was wrong on that. Thought they were bumping back the Judiciary vote but I see now that is incorrect.

When have LiBruLz made fun of Supreme Court Justices for being uptight. The goal was to make sure the nomination through before the midterm. It looks like it will work out but all I'm saying is that they at least failed at trying to get a guy with minimal baggage. And yes - having a history as a party animal is baggage for a supreme court nominee that they could have reasonably seen would be attacked politically. C'mon bro.

I partied hard in law school and I would fully expect that to weigh on a judicial nomination and there were plenty of nerds who did not who would be a lot easier to confirm.

Obviously Queen you and Bart O'Kavanaugh are much manlier men than me.

Yep.  I recall Pubs doing that during Hil's deposition, in fact.

Thing is, Kavanaugh seems like he's less hostile toward the traditional Republican in Washington, so I can believe they hop on board with him.

And I think the issue that he is clearly lying and there are people who would be willing to testify to the committee that aren't being called etc.

It's whatever just confirm the guy and get it over with. Conservatives don't care if he is lying just like liberals don't care if Hillary lied about getting shot at in Kosovo.
