THE4RINGZHa our predictions are pretty close (that stinks for you ) look I have been around WCAL football my entire 43 Years and one truth rings true nearly every year. The league is unpredictable.
-
dhs22pMy Prediction:
Dalton
Norwayne
Hillsdale
Northwestern
Waynedale
Smithville
Rittman
Chippewa -
1486wdI all ready kind of made early predicitions at the beginning of this thread but I guess I will do the list thing as well. The start of summer always gets me pumped for the gridiron.
Dalton
Northwestern
Norwayne
Smithville
Hillsdale
Waynedale
Rittman
Chippewa
T feel the bulldogs, huskies, and bobcats have the best chance to win the league at this juncture, but I do feel the talent level on smithville, hillsdale, and waynedale will be good enough for them to win it as well. Rittman will be much improved, but I still think they struggle to win more than 3-4 games. -
mt1514I think l can agree with all except dhs22p on predictions.. Just my 2 cents worth.
-
ftballfan2Heres mine
Northwestern- Strong senior class should lead them far
Dalton- Got 3 of their 4 backs from last year that went 9-1
Hillsdale- Big, Strong, and always well coached
Rittman- Dont think im crazy but with what they got coming back they should be a tough team to beat
Norwayne- Strong incoming junior class but i think another year before they can contend
Smithville- Lost a ton but the smithies always sneak a few wins in
Waynedale- good coach but they lost too much to contend
Chippewa- Lost their best and only player from last year -
THE4RINGZSo the two biggest Dalton Homers on this site predict Dalton to win it all? I am shocked. Kidding of course I have always enjoyed and respected your views on the WCAL.
My only question mark with Dalton is can the new coach manage a team with such a low turn out? Not being critical just questioning if he will be adept at winning with thirty five kids give or take in his first season. Northwestern had a couple of hard losses last year and Thut being a Schrock disciple won't let that happen again, that us why I have them slated to win it all. Well that and the fact I am an alumni, but never a homer when I take the blue and gray to win the championship in every sport.
Wonder who Beverboy will predict to win the league? HMMM -

Well my reasoning for the Dogs has nothing to do with me being a Dalton alum. We won the league and have the best players coming back. I don't think having a new coach will be such a crazy transition. And If you think NW had hard losses look at Norwayne last year. I like them at 2. If Hillsdale can find a QB to throw to Moore they will be fine. I must not be seeing the same NW that you guys are but they are 4th in my book. Waynedale and Smithville could go either way. Rittman is 7th and Chippewa 8th.THE4RINGZ wrote: So the two biggest Dalton Homers on this site predict Dalton to win it all? I am shocked. 82airborneway to early for predictions but know this... Chippewa picks up offensive cord from norhwest and yes Colby Bussons brother is now a sophmore and some say he may be the fastest yet..

also heard the kid isnt varisity material yet82airborne wrote: way to early for predictions but know this... Chippewa picks up offensive cord from norhwest and yes Colby Bussons brother is now a sophmore and some say he may be the fastest yet.. -

Remains to be seen. He's not the biggest question though that still seems to be who and how many come out. Any time there is a coaching change you never know until two a days who is really going to be there and what is going to happen. Things could be very interesting in both Chippewa and Dalton this year. I think my early favorite is leaning towards Norwayne if Zimmerly continues to grow at the same pace he has ovr the last couple years he has a solid shot at top running back in WCAL. I'm not saying there isn't other great Backs out there I just think he's a step above.ftballfan2 wrote:

ftballfan2zimmerly is not a step above any starting back this year.. i honestly think dotterer from rittman (out last year with acl) is a back that will be highly underated this year because people around the WCAL havent seen him since his sophomore year
-
THE4RINGZCome on people this is the WCAL one back will not be a difference maker. Team D and toughness rule this league.

That is certainly the biggest question for dalton - the most important thing for the new coach to do is get the numbers back above that 35 range so they have some depth. They had none last year and stayed relatively healthy untill the playoffs when they were missing a few key guys which hurt their cause. You of course never know how things will turn out in a new coaching staff - having so many returning skill kids, plus some of the key assistants that worked with them will help the transistion for sure but there are definitely questions, -
mt1514Norwayne is loaded with skill players, their line is very suspect for this year. I say 1 more year away from serious leauge contenders, then for about the next 4 years after that will be the ones to beat.

Coach 08Just a FYI do not be surprised if Wallace from Norwayne is not playing at a different school come this fall. Heard from very reliable people that he is checking out another school in the area.
-
THE4RINGZIs he moving? Or how does he plan on skirting the Zwick Rule?
-
Coach 08As of now I do not know if he is moving, but he would have to. All I know for now is he has visited another school and even went to their camp. Also he was given a tour of the school. I know this could end up being nothing, but like I said he is looking. I am sure mom and dad would have to want to move and that would be a bigger question.
-
THE4RINGZSmithville?
-
Coach 08Nope, not in the WCL.
-
THE4RINGZCloverleaf?
-
mt1514coach 08,
Heard the same thing about Wallace, would be very supprised if his dad let this happen. -
THE4RINGZDidn't his dad go to Rittman High School?
-
Coach 08Not sure about his dad but he is looking at Orrville, like I said looking and I am sure as said above his mom and dad would have to want to move and not sure if that will happen stay tuned.
