gosh a ruddies, obviously you don't. High School football is a game for teenagers to play. Marion deserves much more praise for it academics than for its sports team. And Massillon needs to improve it academics.

Al Bundy;1856795 wrote:According to your logic, you can only compare two teams if they played each other. Then you say, Marion Local is better than Massillon. When have they played? Why is your opinion valid, but the opinion of experts in the field not valid?
Gosh a ruddies, what I say is that Marion won real championships on the field. Massillon never did. The playoff system begins and they stop winning championships.

gosh a ruddies, you can not get over the fact that you tried to use the term demographics without understanding its meaning. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

gosh a ruddies I live in the MAC area and that is not true. Almost all the schools near Marion have football. In fact most of them have won football championships: Fort Recovery, St. Henry, Coldwater, Minster, Delphos St John, Versailles. Outside the MAC St, Marys won titles and Celina was runner up.

gosh a ruddies, you have never asked a question yet I can not answer. Although there is an implied question being presented by all Massillon supporters. Why are they fighting so hard to defend the reputation of a school which academically fails its students? Why not fix it instead of defending its phony athletic past.

gosh a ruddies I am just standing up for a school that has real reasons to be proud of itself.

Against rinky dink teams. Recruiting + no competition = favorable results.

All of our championships were won on the field. You keep printing this lie that we never won a championship since the playoffs began. We won the 1972 championship.

Lol....Ok. the only reason there isn't more made of this is because nobody cares about the "small ball" played by your schools. Fact.

Gosh a ruddies, but Massillon can not keep doing that forever. Marion's schedule is loaded with real state football champions.

OHSAA punishes Massillon football team, coach for recruiting violations; one star player ruled ineligible for 2016

The Ohio High School Athletic Association announced Saturday that it is penalizing the Massillon High School football team for recruiting violations.
OHSAA Interim Commissioner Dave Gray announced the decision via an email.
The OHSAA said its investigation involved several football players who were recruited to attend Massillon by its coach, Nate Moore, along with assistant football coaches and booster club members. In addition to a public reprimand, the penalties include a $5,000 fine, probation for three years through the end of the 2018-2019 school year and the suspension of Moore from coaching the Tigers in the 2016 playoffs if the team qualifies.

Another thread explains that our 8th grade team is looking for a game. This would be a perfect opportunity for the Marion Local varsity to get its feet wet with the big boys.
