Remove the sod in the off season, level the field and re-sod the entire playing surface. On a brighter note, 5 teams are still in the hunt for playoff spots!!! The out of conference wins are paying off!
There's a local company that has done wonders for fields at Lexington, Clear Fork & West Holmes.

Front & Center Turf is their name I believe.

Chipps have a tough 3 week grind coming, the boys need to stay mentally ready each week. I expect this week to be a tough physical football game, sure the Smithies are going to bring it. Good luck and overlook no one! Hopefully the Falcons can give us a little help this Friday, GO FALCONS!!!

Do we still have time to get an offensive line coach ?

We Bears may still be in it yet !

Or is everyone else statewide just as bad..................

    Strasbaugh is cleared to play!

This will make a huge difference. Need to get him more touches on the ball. as the weather turns colder, the passing game becomes less effective. Can't win in the WCAL with an anemic running game. Can't be done. Either the Bears QB starts to take off and run out of the pocket more to keep defenses honest, or the Bears could lose to Rittman and Smithville.

Norwayne and Chippewa easily win out finishing #1 and #2 in the league. The battle is for #3 where I still see the Bears finishing. Smithville and NW are the ones fighting for #4 & 5 and the playoffs.

I am not so sure that Norwayne and Chippewa both win out easily. Hillsdale and Northwestern along with Smithville cannot be taken lightly. There will be some good games the next 3 weeks. Smithville travels to Chippewa this week and can hopefully cut down on mental mistakes and the big plays. I think when all is said and done that 4 WCAL teams will make the playoffs, the reason being that The WCAL had a very good non conference run this year.

6 for now, but some are fading fast, this includes your cubs Beast.
Bright side is you will not be getting a late start on preparing for your winter sports.
I predict 3 maybe 4 make it in. Chipps, Bobcats, Smithies and Falcons if they can pull the big upset this week.
  • Havin Fun
We shall see Oldsmithie. After watching both Notwayne and Chippewa multiple times this year that they are 10+ points better than anyone else in the league.
I will predict a 35-14 win for Chippewa on Friday. I actually hope I wrong but I don't see any other teams that can compete with these two right now.
  • oldsmithie
Northwestern at this point might be the biggest threat to both Norwayne and Chippewa as the Huskies have big play potential. Hillsdale like Smithville are pretty much grind it out type of teams. I was crunching some numbers and the Smithies could possibly get in the playoffs at 6-4. I think they go 7-3. I believe both Chippewa and Norwayne get in and Possibly Northwestern or Hillsdale.

Hello all, new to the thread, and wish I had discovered it sooner. Chipps fan, but supports the WCAL entirely ... good to hear about Strasbaugh being cleared to play ...
  • O-Trap
Good to have you, UrADork. Welcome to the board! It's nice to see another WCAL fan on here!

And WHO has the biggest influence on the attitude of the players?!?!?!?
    Attitude reflects Leadership.

Lets hope he gets thru the rest of his senior season without further injury.

That kid has a bright sports future ahead beyond HS football.

He's pretty much an "all in" player in whatever sport he plays.

agree 100%. This kid plays all out. The rest of the Bears need to decide if they are playing football for 3 + games or are packing it in. They should finish 7-3 and make the playoffs if they play to their potential. If they are afraid to take it at teams, they will finish 5-5 and can start basketball practice on time.

Again...I saw this on the Orrville forum...

So the way I would translate your "insightful" post is that you are pointing the finger only at those kids that also play basketball? (minus the one that is all in and plays all out) I just want to make sure I am reading you right here....

Three things in life one can count on
    1. Death
    2. Taxes
    3. Waynedale meltdown by week 7!
I will say, based on the boards this year, Orrville is really trying to steal the crown for the most dysfunctional following this year, but to be the champ, you have to beat the Bear!

I've heard a couple people tell me that they aren't taking care of it in hopes to lay turf down in the next 3-7 years. Pretty decent sources also. could have been just football BS in the stands though.

You mean there is a chance that there is "football BS in the stands" (or on the fence)? No way...that is not the case in Bear country...:RpS_blink:

I would maybe amend to say "start winter sports on time". Watch a game. It is obvious there are kids who would rather not get hit. Whether it is the QB who should tuck the ball and run more to keep defenses honest or many others who dance around trying to avoid hits instead of running north and south.
I have not clue what their motivation is? Only a guess they don't want to get hurt. And I could not care less if you understand me or not.

Hey dumbass, they were talking about Smithville's field! (Reel em in! We hooked another!)

(BTW, your signature, "trying to expose 1Beast..." Tough Luck. Everyone knows who I am. LOL Unbelievable!

    Go back into hiding!

Easy Beast, it's always the parents fault you should know that by now !

A couple quick months & it will all be over but the search for a replacement.

Just hope if everyone stays healthy we can win out & make it to the playoffs.

It is quite obvious that you are pointing the finger at basketball players, in particular the qb since that is the only one you specifically listed. Our main problem this year has been NO running game...I guess that is the qb's fault..... Also, please read my post carefully junior...I NEVER said I was trying to understand you. I learned a long time ago...you can't fix stupid.
