Good way to end the season for dalton over hillsdale on the road. A real shame they didn't pull out one more this year (norwayne game comes to mind) and they would have had a good chance of playing one more week.

Thank you Dalton from Doylestown! Bad news.....Chipps get Coldwater
  • thePITman
Congratulations Chippewa, you made the playoffs. Now you get to go on the road to play Coldwater, who has been in 5 straight state championship games and won the last 2.

Congratulations Hillsdale, you made the playoffs. Now you get to go on the road to play Kirtland, who has been in 3 straight state championship games and won 2 of them.

Tough first round draws, for sure. Good luck to the WCAL schools!

Bulldogs great win, thanks for the help in our co-championship. Tough week 11 coming up, buts it's week 11!!!!!!!!!! That's what you pay the first 10 for. Take it all in boys, you'll remember these days for the rest of your lives. Kick some on the river next Saturday, show them you belong!!!!

What Offensive did Bears run tonight? Defense?
  • Havin Fun
Nice finish for the Bears with a blend of rush and pass on offense and good defense.
Five losses on the season to teams with a combined 42-8 record and 4/5 headed to playoffs. All five losses were to senior heavy teams that should be wins next year. In fact, with the exception of Ridgewood who went 9-1, the Bears could have won the rest of these games.
Younger teams make the mistakes that cost you in close games. Next year should be quite a ride with Waynedale, chippewa, Norwayne and Smithville returning most of their top players.
This was a great WCAL season with lots of exciting games and finishes. Great balance and games each and every week.

Good to finish on a winning note. Tons of balance this year in the WCAL

Still a spread look (which I'm not crazy about) BUT lots of mis-direction and getting the ball into the hands of all our playmakers. #4 at qb, #28 & #32 (#35 in 2nd half because of torn jersey) in the backfield. We also got the ball in the hands of #26 at times. Threw the ball about 15 times and completed 10. Great mix last couple of games. Hope we can build on that. Can't believe we actually beat a good team with #4 at qb...what do you think about that observer and alum (aka...hero)??????????:RpS_love: Good luck vs. the Cavs again this year...what was it last year? A 4 touchdown loss? Maybe you 2 can draw up a better good game plan this year on drink napkins down at the Bonneville Bar...:RpS_razz:

Where do the Bears play this week? Oh, that's right, the laundromat! :RpS_razz: This year will be as ugly as Coldwater wants to make it. What is perplexing, why in the hell is Chippewa even in that region? 3 1/2 hour ride each way? Regardless if it's Coldwater, or any other school, that's insane.

Agreed. The regions are ridiculous geographically. From Chippewa traveling to Coldwater to Hillsdale going to Oak Hill (Southeastern Ohio) a few years ago. Wooster to Pataskala (pending tonights outcome). The area is all over the place.

Offer stills stands, I'll pick you up!!!! 3 1/2 hour drive, sure you teach me a lot about football in that time. We can watch the game and on the drive back I can hopefully learn some more!!!!

I remember going to Hemlock in Round 1 of the 2000 playoffs. It was a good 2-and-a-half hour haul to get down there.

Look at the map. Because Wayne County schools whine about the catholics so much, they do not put any Wayne county schools in the same region as a Youngstown team.

BINGO!!! Just told my wife this.
  • Wcal observer
Well, if that's the reason; both WCAL schools will drive an extra hour or two to get destroyed when they could have done the same in Akron or Canton.

This has nothing to do with it. There is a higher concentration of smaller schools in NE ohio vs NW ohio. The regions have to have the same number of schools in it. We are typically on the cut line depending on enrollment figures hence why we jump around so much.

I will not argue that this years maps are not all that bad but go back to the previous set, the only really screwed up ones(and they were real bad) were the divisions with Wayne County schools and Youngstown in the same division.

You think that's worse than going to the Indiana border? Or in your case, going to the shores of Lake Erie? Outside of Hillsdale, the other WCAL schools would still be in Ne Ohio
