I have people who run the business for me moron. I just oversee things and can do both very well. It's called multi tasking again a term I am sure you know nothing about. There is a difference between getting up at 330 and getting home at 330! Isn't it wrastling season?? Get there I am sure your boy has the Wayne County record for getting pinned the quickest something around 3 seconds. What a stud!!

tough guy wants to bring my son into the conversation. If it helps you sleep, he has pinned a few opponents in :11 and :06 seconds, both were at the district level. He's competed in the State tournament as a sophomore and Jr, he's all-ohio and has 136 wins entering his senior season.

Now that you're informed, try to keep on subject, better yet, just stay away. You are a cancer to this forum.

Red Rider Nation- you are always on the attack why bring 1_beast kid into it. That stats he listed are very, very impressive. Just move on and keep it above the belt...
  • CCRolly
RRN is the ultimate troll when it comes to Orrville threads. Attacking someone's kid is a real tough guy thing to do. Stay classy.

As someone with kids who I'm sure mean the world to you...you ought to know better. Seriously...we all get it...you're over the top and use lots of exclamation points...but people's kids & families should be off limits. PERIOD.

    Have some sense.

Good article on Manchester coach Jim France...the winningest active coach in the state....and a throwback to a bygone era....and the guy that's probably keeping Orrville out of the PAC.

Interesting to read that such an old school and hard nosed coach goes light on his team during practice leading up to games. Why? I thought only weak coaches with no clue how to run a football team did that??

    Here are his thoughts.

For 43 years, France has been running many of the same practice drills and focusing on the same details, but his belief in not hitting too much or exhausting the players at practice remains.

"I learned a long time ago that we only have so many football players at a school our size," France said. "If you're beating them up during the week, you're not going to have much chance on Friday nights."

Remember...Manchester is a bigger school than Orrville...but even they understand the simple concept that you can't beat up on each other.

You forget some that don't understand this never will. You can't fix stupid...

Smithville used to beat up on each other during the week back in the late '90s and early to mid 2000s.

However, I'd at least maintain that we also did NOT do full hitting on Thursdays before a game. We were in full pads, but the hitting was lighter, and that day was mostly dedicated to the mental aspect of the playbook.

How many state titles has Mr. France won? Until then let's not mirror our program around his! You have a program in your own county that you can do that with. No RR fan you can't fix stupid which is why Orrville's football program is nothing anymore. You can't make Doug something he isn't. I can do a lot of things but you couldn't teach me to do open heart surgeries. That's not in my make-up and coaching football is not in his. Support him all you want I won't do it it is just a waste of time. It's Week 11 and what are you doing tonight? Not watching your team

I am glad you said that in the 90's the smithville teams would beat each other up in practice. It was always a unknown belief that happened at smithville. You could tell the smithville teams were always very physical

That was what we were always taught to take pride in (by today's standards, we were pretty slow and kind of small).

The biggest compliment I can remember of our team my senior year (fall of 2001) was from the Amanda-Clearcreek coach after our Round 1 win on their home turf. It was played up all week that they hadn't lost at home in three years, and that their RB was the 2000 DV offensive POY, and that they'd knocked us out of the playoffs the year before (Regional Finals), and that they were the #1 seed. We ended up winning 15-12 in a mud bath.

Of everything about that game, the most clear memory is reading the paper the next day, where their coach was quoted as saying, "They 'out-physical-ed' us."

It's a great feeling to read that about your team, and it always solidified in my mind that our practice and conditioning preparation for games was effective.

Orrville gets a playoff game next Sat. the 16th. A DVII game - Norwalk St Paul vs Wellsville. Money garnered will go to the turf fund and athletic fund. Boosters and band will get concessions.

    Fellas, fellas, fellas….

All this venomous talk is frustrating. Things are not well in the Ville and some of you need your mouths and minds rinsed out with soap! :RpS_mellow: I stayed away from the site for a while because I knew there would be plenty of “chatter” about the game, outcome and future of the head coach. With two difficult seasons in the books you all have interesting and legitimate arguments about the talent, coaching staff, community and future of the Orrville program.

A VERY successful former coach from Orrville told me it was easy to get spoiled in those 80’s and 90’s, so much talent all over the field and track. He said one of the hard parts about a public program is learning NOT to take the talent you have for granted. You kind of assume you will always have it and when you don’t….. You don’t! He also said some of the seasons he was the MOST proud of were some of the 3, 5 and 7 win seasons. He really had to coach some of those less talented teams up and that was what coaching was all about…………….Just a thought guys.

These last two seasons could be a learning experience for EVERYONE. I don’t know, but I do feel like we currently have a combination of ailments that have made these last two seasons what they are. When I played at Orrville we had some large teams on the schedule. We won some and we lost some but win or lose those teams knew they were in a game on Saturday morning. These last two seasons have us all asking all kinds of questions. These two hard seasons probably have a little to do with the athlete’s ability and attitude, a little bit to do with the size of schools and yes even a little bit the coaching methods. Coaching is an ongoing process and the minute you think you know everything is the moment you should get out. These current situations are pretty new to all of us, including coaches. I do believe there are good people in my home town and my belief in those individuals keeps me optimistic about its future. I remember people on this site wondering if we would even have enough players out for 11 on 11 practice…..

I will be a Red Rider till the day I die and will never lose faith in my town.

Well said. Its hard not to respond. Some are on here just to get a response. It's must be hard to be that negative all the time.

My wife and I did not graduate from Orrville, but have bled Red Rider blood for 45+ years. Two children to graduate and several grandchildren (so far) and now down to great grandchildren. Our family support the Red Rider athletes, programs, school, etc. Thank you sanitizer for saying what many of us "readers" wanted to say in print, but only would mutter under our breath. We are proud to represent Orrville Schools as supporters. RUN RED RUN and be out there next year in football as our family will be there watching and supporting all of you. RTR all the way.

I've basically said this same thing about the current head coach and staff, especially during last season's outcome. However, when I do it's always construed as negative. But that is ok, because fortunately, you repeating what I've said will help the "blind" to see the light, and that's a good thing!

Sometimes the truth may hurt, but not as much as a lie!
