Is it a coincidence that Ursuline started to dominate their division when they started handing out vouchers?? It's the big elephant sitting in the room and nobody has the guts to say it.
And the transfers you bring in from West Virginia is ok tho? Pretty hypocritical is it not?

Mooney had won I believe four state titles in the 70's and 80's well before vouchers.

OHSAA Board of Directors Meeting Highlights – January 12, 2012

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio High School Athletic Association Board of Directors met Thursday morning at the OHSAA office in Columbus for its regularly scheduled January meeting. The following are highlights from the meeting. The complete set of meeting minutes will be posted at OHSAA.org in the near future.

    - The Board unanimously approved a motion to continue to support the work of the OHSAA’s Competitive Balance Committee, which meets again January 31. The motion was in response to a letter received from an Ohio public school superintendent that requested the Board of Directors immediately create a referendum item to go to the membership this spring that would place public and non-public schools into separate tournaments.

yep we won the game like 48-0 and since Reno plays every kid on the roster the kid in question got in very late in the game . Reno didnt know that the proper paperwork had not been forwarded in a timely fashion .. Someone from IC knew of this and blew the whistle . It propelled Lakeside into the playoffs .. whats your point? Our 8th grade team could have beaten Lakeside . it was a clerical mistake LOLOLOLOL Does that help you ? i know you are just trying to spin something against us and make it look like we are cheaters . Thats all you do is distort the facts.
The game was very early in the season and may have been a first game even before school started SMH.

The point is you cry about Mooney and you constantly bring in transfers even from West Virginia.

the score was 55-6 and it was the first game of the season .
Difference between us and Mooney is we dont recruit they do . You are implying wrong doing by us and there was none A kid got in a couple of plays at the end of a game that we won by 50 and he never started for the Red so keep distorting the facts thats all you do... BTW Go put that on our stories of Big Red if you like or whatever . This is a thread that doesnt concern Big Red

SMH...and here I thought you were starting to actually turn the corner, thick. Looks like some people just can't change their style. You have no facts, just conjecture. Lines like this are tired. And until you have proof, kindly shut the hell up.

We dont BRING anybody in . Our school is a FREE PUBLIC school BTW Our Governor is speaking at Wells academy for the state of the state address because our public school ranks #1 in all of Ohio, so eat that

go back to the basement and start your disruptive behavior . I dont want to speak to you or your followers so just dont quote me . You just want to cloud the airways up over here with more of your lies .. How come Its always one of you people quoting me . I never say anything to you or your cronies and dont want to . So if you have something to say just state what you want to say . no need to quote me .. All you do is throw personnel attacks and insults at anybody who doesnt share your views .

I know Big Red lost a few kids to Weirton and to Toronto and to indian creek . We are all within 5 miles of each other . we dont get kids in from 15 and 20 miles away on a regular basis like some schools do and I dont even care really .. I played for Steubenville won a state title with Steubenville and had 100% Steubenville kids thats one reason i know we dont recruit . I had Reno when he was a coach at Harding Junior high . i know my school very well . steubenville just grows mean azz tough as he// kids period .

You bring in kids from Wv bottom line!

Take note fellas, this thread is ALREADY turning to S**T, and I haven't even posted yet.

Give credit where credit is due though....You parochial school guys are a very determined bunch.
  • ECOLace
The day you see private and parochial schools being forced to play in their own state tournaments is the day you you see them form their athletic association and draw in the more competitive public schools into it. Yes, the current system does kind of suck, but I think a rebalancing of the divisions based on traditional success over say 5 years would be much more effective.

Yeah, reading through the topic, it's the private school guys who have been the troublemakers.

Ursuline and Mooney aren't even close to being "most private schools." If you're suggesting that "most private schools" "bring in" kids without means, then you're off your meds. ;)
ManO'War;1061029 wrote:Most schools in Ohio are OE....the only ones that aren't are the suburban ones who already have a large enrollment and don't want "undesirables" into their system.
"Undesirables" have little if any to do with it. It has way more to do with maxed out facilities.

what kid dont want to go to Mooney...???? You get to smoke and drink without getting in trouble. Your parents even buy it for you and drink with you!!!

    1. Posters are quick to give examples of public schools whenever they beat privates. Sure it happens but private schools make up about 10% of all schools in the state but have won 60% of the titles over the past few decades. There is no argument that can counter that stat.

    2. Publics like Graham wrstling programs have great coaches and do win but Graham has never won a state title with kids from St.Paris or even kids from adjoining school districts. Most of their "top" guys are from way far away that are recruited through Jordans summer camps.

    3. THe DII and DIII privates that sit in the middle of urban areas like Alter do have a huge advantage over other DII schools. Alter has over 100,000 students to choose from within driving distance.

    4. Even if kids at private schools dont have some "advantage", the socio-economic make up of their teams do play into an advantage over the long hall. Sports like golf, tennis, gymnastics, hockey, swimming etc...that take alot of money and training at a younger age private school families have those resources that others wont. LIke a local country club they belong to.
#2 is Not entirely correct....Graham had won the title in 1982.....

My school district covers about 50 sq miles. Can't recruit. No one who doesn't love in the district wants to commute an hour one way no matter how good the football/basketball is.
