OHSAA clears Massillon High School in recruiting investigation
-
skankTodd Porters "Sunday Special" had this quote in it today from Coach Jason Hall of Massillon.
"I was never worried about it to be honest, it was a joke to begin with" Hall said. "I know what we do, and I know we do things the right way."
"It's kind of sad....if someone wants to go to Massillon (for football), it's the end of the world, why is it that no one says anything about the kids who come to Massillon to be in our state ranked choir?" "Or the kids who want to be a part of the DREAM project." "I won't bash other schools, but nothing is said about them." "We have one of the top academic teams in the state, our girls basketball team is one of the top academic teams in the state. With the way we do study tables, the DREAM project, the facilities...." "It's about character and pride and taking advantage of the opportunities and doing things the right way. What's right is right."
It WAS a joke to begin with, we DO do things the right way, it IS sad that people make a big deal out of it, Why DON'T people say anything about other schools? What's right IS right. BUT....coach Hall better get used to it.
Have at it. -

Yeah, like that'll ever happen. Sorry, but to me, nothing is more hypocritical then when someone from Hoover and/or Perry talk of Massillon recruiting.coyotes22 wrote: In other words,,,, Area schools need to STFU and mind their own BIZNASS!!!!!!

GoChiefsTalk about what Hall said..that's what the thread is about. Keep it on track.
-
Bigred1995I like it and I feel the majority of schools that get accused of recruiting (private & public) can pretty much apply what he said to their situation.

Jason Hall is right on the money with this statement. He is now feeling the full pressures of being a Massillon coach. Good luck to him, and the rest of the Tiger team this year.skank wrote: Todd Porters "Sunday Special" had this quote in it today from Coach Jason Hall of Massillon.

AB, I do feel that parochials recruit, but my big beef is with the OHSAA, whos rules seem to allow it. But don't get me completely wrong, I do feel that most parochials take full advantage of their...."benefits". Especially 6-10 of them.Al Bundy wrote:

If you are a saying a school is recruiting, but do not have evidence of it, then you are doing the same thing that you are criticizing others of doing.skank wrote:

The difference between me, and "others", is that I don't troll other threads pertaining to those teams and voice my opinion. If it's brought up in a thread that I am on, sure, I'll voice my opinion, but I don't shout it from the rooftops like some people.Al Bundy wrote:

LOL You have voiced concerns of it on various threads. You even mentioned several other teams on this thread. I know that you are extremely jealous of programs that have actually won state titles. Maybe someday the paper tigers will win a state title.skank wrote:

LOL, read my previous post...."If it's brought up in a thread that I am on", what part of that don't you understand? So yes, you probably DID see me "voice concerns". And as far as your last statement, I would't call it jealousy, I would say I admire....PUBLIC....schools that have won championships, because I know how hard it is, and I know how the deck is stacked against them.Al Bundy wrote:

You brought up other schools in post #3 of this thread. I agree with Coach Hall in that it is a joke to accuse schools of something if they haven't broken any rules. I suggest you follow his advice.skank wrote:

skankAs if it were any of your business, those two schools whine the most about Massillon "recruiting", yet they benefit more in girls sports and wrestling respectively. Almost as much as a parochial.

GoChiefsSince we can't stay on topic about Hall..I'll just merge the threads together.

The state report sure does show that. -
skankMy goodness you are slow, "we have one of the top academic....TEAMS....in the state." What don't you understand? Teams....Teams....
-
skankI'm guessing that reading comprehension is not stressed at the parochial school you went to.
-
Al BundyI am just providing the link to show the wonderful academics that coach is referring to. They are basically the Harvard of Stark County. I'm trying to stay on topic with what coach said in the article.
http://www.ode.state.oh.us/reportcardfiles/2008-2009/BUILD/039602.pdf -
skankNo, you're just providing a link to try to rub it in, one more time, "TEAM". That's the teams GPA, that would be the grade point average....OF THE TEAM. Do you understand this time? TEAM. I honestly don't know how I can make it any more simple for you, TEAM, that would be the young men who play....ON THE TEAM.
Massillon is a city school, your parochial schools don't have the problems that city schools do, so if you are going to try to make comparisons, it's apples and oranges. Parochials get to pick and choose the players....er, I mean students who are on the team....er, I mean, who attend their school. -

I was just giving credit to the Harvard of Stark County. I'm sure it is pretty hard to get a good GPA when you only have to do 1/3 of what the state standards require.skank wrote: No, you're just providing a link to try to rub it in, one more time, "TEAM". skankAgain, how much does it cost a year to attend your glorious school? I understand that you have a tough time understanding certain things, and I'm not going to explain everything to you three and four times, I think my first sentence explains it all.
