Oh come on! There is no recruiting in high school!!!! It's called "open enrollment".

Well I'm not getting into "How" or "Why"..but believe me..they investigate stuff a heck of a lot more than you obviously think. If you think you hear about every little thing OHSAA gets into..you are sadly mistaken.

LOL...Seriously..do you know how to have a discussion without trying to be an *** everytime someone doesn't agree with you? I guess b/c I'm a mod I'm not allowed to post either? And I agree with you on 2 things..my opinion means nothing more than yours..never once have I claimed that it did..and secondly..by the sounds of it..someone will be in trouble.

september63 wrote: Well, OHSAA doesnt actually invesitgate CRAP ALL THE DANG TIME!! That was a pretty dumb comment. They do not spend the money to investigate every rumor. This has been corraborated by them, and we shall find out.
With approximately 800 schools competing in many different sports throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring, YOU would be the foolish one if you thought that the OHSAA isn't a busy little orginization....ALL YEAR.

Question, I hate to interrupt this calm discussion by the way, but what is the OHSAA's formal policy on recruiting? What defines it and what measures do they take as punishment?
• september63
Ask Skank. He should remember what OHSAA's sanctions were against Massillon the last time? And exactly how they violated the rule then.
• skank
One thing I do remember....vividly, is the 34-0 whippen we put on your ternaders in 05. However....I can't seem to remember the 2006 results, perhaps someone could refresh my memory.

And this, would tend to make one believe that YOU....are the expert on recruiting.

Please explain the violations and the punishments. Thank you in advance.

You both handled that like adults. A simple "we don't know" would have been fine.

WTH, go to the OHSAA website and look yourself.

They only look when something is reported.
Alot off people don't feel the need to call out high school kids.
But yes some do.

They never investigated the previous start spartans baseball teams getting players from illinois, indiana, and michigan to stay here.

At least the OHSAA won't be able to strip Massillon of any state titles. They have no authority over the AP 40+ years ago :)

So, Some Public School in Stark County will get busted for recruiting and the OHAAS will again be forced to sanction the Private schools in the State with another biased rule.

Last time this happened the OHAAS made the rule that a kid couldn't transfer from a public school to a private without sitting out a year. But, could transfer from a Private to a Public no problem.

Its like OSU or SoCal getting busted by the NCAA so SouthWestern Texas State gets put on probation.

The OHSAA will only investigat when it is given enough proof to do so. Every school district is responsible for the upkeep of its school and report itself when necessary. I for one would like to see the OHSAA get some teeth, but those would be exspensive choppers to pull it off. lol
• catchr22
redstreak--that is the key--it is a SELF-REPORTING rule!!!
• MessyDinosaur
My bad, I figured since you guys were on the topic and obviously know more than me, that you would be able to help is all.

What the Ohsaa should do is start taking a closer look at the parochials, I believe alot of people would be shocked at what they find.

Explain this to me, "rocket man", Mooney with their 252 boys, competes year in and year out with the Mentors (1059 Boys), Boardmans (612 boys), WGHs (539 boys), I see now on another thread they have picked up Moeller (671 boys) and Eds (663 boys). Ah, it must be nice to be a parochial....Must be nice.

...Has the investigation by the OHSAA concluded or will it now continue with the holidays being over?

That is because there was no need to do so.
