    I agree with this completely, but if HEART1 = HEART2 and SIZE1 > SIZE2, Lineman1 usually wins.

    Provided DISCIPLINE1 = DISCIPLINE2, I agree.

I see alot of talk about kids in the weight room. But I also see alot of kids who have never been taught the proper techniquies in the weight room and most coaches do not know them. A lot of kids if you ask them what they lift they will tell you their bench press and that is what most work on almost exclusively. IMO it does not give them the strength in the legs and lower body were you really need it in the trenches.
In 2010, my sons senior year he was between 180 and 190 pounds as a D tackle. He only would lift with one other guy on the team our 6'6" 285 pound O tackle because they used the same weights. They were repping 260 on front squats and 380 on back squats. They did not learn to lift in football they learned from the track throws coach. No one else liked to do hitting drills with either of them.
During the regional game with LCC one of the major adjustments LCC did at the half was go double on him the rest of the night.

Ya. I'm always surprised by this. In this day and age you'd think coaches would have this figured out better. Technique is something few teams work on or to a level that would be appropriate. With the amount kids are lifting compared to even 10 years ago... I would think this would be stressed more because of safety alone.

I completely agree with you and GoFalc. When I said being in the weightroom, I meant with a very specific regimen. We were on the BFS program for three years when I was in school. I honestly recommend that any team who wants to win needs to have a specific program AND that the program be constructed by someone qualified. We only did a straight bench press once a week, spending more time with legs and core, as these are more important to most vertical sports.

So we went with the AD's freshman son instead of your STARTING QB who was cleared to play and ready to go?!?!?!?!?!?! That right there is a coaching call! You CANNOT blame that on the boys or attitude or laziness!

No, but 38 points is not a "who-started-at-QB" issue. That defense has some SERIOUS issues.

Any other scores around the league?

smithville over rittman by 20+. i was not impressed with the smithies today.very sloppy play on both sides of the ball. bates not getting many carries but buss and shane doing work on the ground. the smithie recievers need to get strongers. it will be interestin to see how the green plans on slowing down the cats next week.

54-8, Norwayne is good, no doubt. I found a few things to be happy about watching my Dawgs tonight.
And glad I have a couple nephews in jr hi. It appears the Bobcat reign may be ending in a few years.
    Good game all.
