    Thanks
Not at all. Im a fan but Im also realistic. I thought Orrville would beat Norwayne and lose to Girard. Kenton and Hartley are just on a different level. I could see either one of these teams winning it all in a Division as high D2 and at least compete in D1. I wouldnt put Norwayne, Orrville, Girard or whoever else in D4 in that league. Trust me Im pulling for Norwayne but there is always that 1 0r 2 teams out there that just play at a differnet level.

    Your words not mine!

    Thanks

I am going to all 6 finals and have seats on the home side for all of them. I think Norwayne will be on the homeside.
A game article from the Kenton paper.

    Wildcats headed to state championship

PIQUA – The Kenton Wildcats are headed to the Division IV state championship game in Massillon this Saturday after defeating playoff foe Clarksville Clinton Massie 36-6 Saturday night.

The Wildcats, now 14-0, will take on 13-1 Creston Norwayne next Saturday, 3 p.m. at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.

The third quarter proved to be the most successful for Kenton, as quarterback Maty Mauk connected to Matt Bahr twice from 65 and 38 yards for touchdowns, and to Dustin Sawmiller from 35 yards out.

The three scores propelled the Wildcats to the 36-6 lead, which they would go on to hold for the remainder of the game to pick up the win.

Clinton Massie began the game with a 76-yard march down the field, capping it off with a 41-yard run by running back Bayle Wolf. That would prove to be their only success of the night.

Kenton answered back quickly and in big fashion, as Mauk hit Sawmiller in stride on the first play of the drive for the 65-yard score.

Mauk ended the night 24-of-38 with 409 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Sawmiller was on the receiving end of two of those touchdowns, with 114 yards on five catches. Bahr caught eight passes with two touchdowns and 163 yards. Mauk also added one touchdown on the ground from six yards out in the second quarter.

Norwayne is in a great position for the upset. No hype....quite unknown anywhere except here. All the pressure is on Kenton/Mauk. If the Cats get up again I look for a little panic button from Kenton.....although with Mauk at the helm that could be bad. The difference between Mauk and most QB's with his passing stats is that he also is a punishing runner. It will be a challenge for both defenses. Who can get stops here or there is the winner. I don't think anybody runs away with this one. Both teams are too solid all the way around. Too many athletes on both sides. Good luck Cats. Show 'em how we do things up here in NE OHIO!

Looking forward to the all-Cats (Wildcats v. Bobcats) State Championship! I remember watching "Benny & the Jets" in 2001 and thinking he was the best quarterback God had ever created, so with Maty breaking records this year, I can't WAIT to see such a talented QB!

Having said all that, I think Norwayne's pass defense is key in this game. Having seen many teams this year, I'm very impressed with their ability to defend the pass ... at least compared to most teams. Granted, they aren't going to stop the Wildcats' passing game, but I'd like to see if they can curb it at all.

How has Kenton's D done this year, and have they faced more run-heavy teams or pass-heavy teams? Obviously, this last game was against a run-heavy offense, and they did well. I guess I don't know enough about their defense to even speculate as to how Norwayne will do against it.

I believe Kenton's schedule was the #1 or #2 toughest in all of DIV. I think they have seen a good mix of most offenses much like Norwayne's D has also.

Never said you were a hater. I was just trying to answer the question you would not using your own posts. The question was if it is not close who are you saying wins?

Best of luck to the Norwayne Bobcats! Bring another title back to Wayne County! You can join elite company
    ;) lol

I have an interview down in Columbus at 10 so I will be doing my best to get back to Massillon for this game!
I would not consider Norwayne an elite yet, one good year does not do it especially as Jon Zimmerly and Adam Wallace won't be back, not gonna be good next year, just like the Riders maybe sadly.
  • RedRider
I'm gonna come out straight and say I am a Norwayne hater, but I have RESPECT for them, they have a good team. But I do honestly think Kenton will win because I've seen two games from Norwayne and it's looks like they only have two CBs that can play with Kenton, number 10 on Norwayne is afraid of contact. Don't know much about Kentons defense but I don't see it being a blowout, should be a good game.

    Thoughts?

Jon will be back next year.

Kenton plays in the Western Buckeye League which is made up of Div II, Div III, and Div IV teams with one nonleague game against Div V Coldwater. Four teams from Kenton's schedule advanced to this years playoffs, (Wapak-DII, Elida-DIII, Ottawa Glandorf-DIV, and Coldwater). Kenton will not underestimate anyone, obviously when you make it to the state title game you are a very good team. Congrats to Norwayne on a great season but I've got to go with my Cats from Northwest Ohio.

Over on JJ, there are some outlandish predictions. Nobody knows anything about Norwayne over there. Haha.

It's all Kenton sheep over there. Which is the main reason I hope Kenton loses. I got sick of reading their drivel YEARS ago.
  • BobcatKiller
I wouldnt say number 10 is afraid of contact he has had to make alot of touchdown saving tackles this year & hes probably the best cover corner on the team.
  • iced earth
I don't like Norwayne because I like Waynedale....and I don't like Kenton because their fans are way too cocky. I hope it's a double forfeit and the title stays vacant!
  • Go Falcons
Bobcats you have achieved what only one other Wayne County Athletic League team has ever accomplished. That puts you in a very Elite Club. One more win and you achieve something none of the others have managed to do. Hopefully down the road those other teams will find the success that you have enjoyed and the wonderful sense of pride that your community is experiencing. I hope when that day comes you will have forgotten about the few bitter and jealous individuals that tried to demean your achievement and remember that the vast majority off us were as happy for you as an outsider could possibly be.
  • thePITman
Wow. I went to JJ and tried to bring up the fact that Norwayne is pretty good and could make the game competitive, and I got blasted for just that - saying the game could be competitive. I've never interacted with Kenton fans this much, and I see why nobody else likes them. Haha! I guess my JJ interaction this week was limited. Not worth it... trying to talk football, and just being bullied by the big bad wolf that is Kenton. lol
  • O-Trap
PIT, if Norwayne wins, I say go on there and blast the Kenton loudmouths until the cows come home. :D
  • THE4RINGZ
Norwayne has done their talking on the field (with one exception) all season, let's let that be the way it is this week too.

Pit: I think there was way to much intelligent reasoning going on in your posts over there.
