And this bell is not being rung while the ball is in play. I don't understand the problem. Like others said, it's just a big cowbell.
Except Norwaynes Band. You can hardly even hear them, especially after having to play 2nd to Johnstown's band, after they were done, my ears were ringing and I couldn't hear Norwayne 9 person band....:p

I don't know why Norwayne officials called OHSAA. I would assume someone complained and they wanted to check. So sorry Bobcat fans but there will be no Bell. I will still be there cheering them on though.
Unless it breaks a rule, why would you be disallowed?

    And how did that go?

First...Pitman, You're in a jam with those tickets. Ain't nobody payin' to sit with the uncultured hooligans you mentioned above.
    Truth.
1_beast;996727 wrote:I do not know WHY Acker would call the State....Clearly, the Norwayne fans LOVED the Bell...each time you rang it....(3rd down) the WHOLE crowd jumped to there feet....not that they wouldnt have anyhow...but it clearly was enjoyed and appreciated by MANY......They wanted it rang MORE.

Heck a Norwayne FAN came and "borrowed" the bell the 1st half....lol he just couldnt get the bell to toll as the experienced Go Falcs does!!!!

I just wonder if Acker was mad that it was a "Hillsdale" bell......stealing the glory...Instead of appreciating the outside support....cant for the life of me figure out why he would be concerned about a fan from a league school bringing a bell to support HIS team? Does he not have a busy enough schedule???
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say it was the inexperience.

Please bring the bell it is Awesome. Go easy on the band.
  • Go Falcons
I am not going to step on any toes or cause problems. I doubt Mr. Acker or anyone else were trying to do anything but play it safe. We have seen a lot of posts from some of the "fringe' Kenton fans and we definitely don't need to give them any more excuses come Sunday morning.:D
I don't have a Cat in this fight and I have no reason to have hard feelings about it.

    GO BOBCATS!

Glad to hear the book we will updated. I did in fact, hear from a source to "Be patient"..... ;)

Four teams from Kenton's schedule advanced to this years playoffs, (Wapak-DII, Elida-DIII, Ottawa Glandorf-DIV, and Coldwater). Kenton will not underestimate anyone, obviously when you make it to the state title game you are a very good team. Congrats to Norwayne on a great season but I've got to go with my Cats from Northwest Ohio.
Strength of schedule means nothing, just ask orrville.

There is a difference between winning all of your games with a tough schedule than losing most of the tough games on your tough schedule, like Orrville.

Old Rider;996647 wrote:And how many games did you win those years you were the QB and Schrock "thought" he was all of a sudden a passing team cause you came from Orrville???
Not enough. Not sure what you meant by that comment either? I do know that the reason we threw is because we couldn't run and we did lead the area in passing offense so it definitely wasn't because of our offense that we lost more games than usual. It's obvious you have to have a balance to succeed in the playoffs, as both of these teams do.

Take the bell! Leave it in your car. When people ask about it, tell them you didn't bring it. Then go get it. Instant hero!

You've already been informed Acker did it because he is part of OHSAA and that you should never ask a bloated bureaucracy a question, because the easy answer is ''no''.

    Take the bell!

I personally think their playoff schedule was not as tough as most other D4 teams besides girard, no effense to orrville folks. I would like to see norwayne play bucyrus wynford round 1 like smithville did!
I have to agree Div.4 is down this year. All the powerhouse teams like Mooney , Stubnvl, Coldwater, are in different divs. No offense taken here in orrville. We were an average team this year not one of our best, but credit to Norwayne they did what they had to and got the win. If Girard had a defense maybe that game would have ended differently. Good luck Cats

It's cool....I would take watching my team in the State Final, even in the slightly crappier stands, over having my team finish 6-4 and only beat two teams with a winning record. That might be bad enough to make me go troll some other teams' game threads while my team is playing basketball. :D

I'm going to say that we were an ''above'' average team this year. And I don't take any ''effense'' to it, either.

Man, if ever I saw a statement that verified the old saying ''sometimes the truth hurts'', it's this one:

''There is a difference between winning all of your games with a tough schedule than losing most of the tough games on your tough schedule, like Orrville.''*

*At least we didn't lose ALL of them. though. Just most of them.

I was never told that it came from Mr. Acker. So lets not blame him with out proof!

I'm not blaming him. The explanation given makes sense, though.

Regardless (and not ''irregardless''), take the bell!

Wow you found another board to troll on....lol!

You have some serious issues with Kenton fans. Maybe you should go talk to someone about the demons. You take things to serious and out of context and twist it to your advantage.

We Bobcat Fans LOVED the bell! BRING IT, PLEASE! Thank you to the Orrville community for the support shown in the Daily Record, I agree very classy indeed and definitely appreciated! Also for anyone wanting to come out to show support for our young men there will be a community pep rally in the high school gym Friday at 8pm and also a send off lining the Main Street as the buses go by on their way to the stadium Saturday morning at 11. Everyone is welcome! Our young men know they are representing more colors then just Scarlett and Grey! And Go Falcons, feel free to bring your bell then too ;)

    GO BOBCATS!

Orville Str-of-sched 0.735, #135 toughest overall, #5 in Division IV
However they lost 3 games in that tough schedule

    lost to Copley 6-4
    lost to Mansfield 3-7
    lost to Ashland 6-5
    lost to Norwayne 13-1

Kenton Str-of-sched 0.772, #106 toughest overall, #2 in Division IV

lost to no one this year.

I would say that Kenton is a much better team than Orville. However this is just my opinion.

This will be a good game and a close one. One of these teams will pull away in the 4th quarter and win this game.

I was simply saying that you cannot base games on strength of schedule. Orrville played a much tougher schedule than Norwayne and yet we got beat by them. That is why they play the game on turf and not paper.
